Thanks to all!

I am getting my g1 here soon so might not be around in dash forum much but i wanted to say thanks to everyone here for their awesome help and work. You guys have made my dash a handheld nuke lol.
lukybandit - 10live and mp3 trimmer are my 2 favorite apps for dash, much thanks for both!
Org/NRGZ28 - Weather app is second to none, reboot option sure beats turning on and off phone every time!! One of the best people on here who has helped me out alot, much thanks to you!
jdoggraz - One of the best peeps in this forum, stay cool!
Mikey1022 - Gave me help when most people wouldn't, if there was a mod of the year you would get my vote!!

You know I think I read an article about the G1 not having turn by turn voice directions for GPS. I understand there will be developed 3rd party apps but FYI. I'll look for the article.

Couple of Questions
This is very good news but I have some questions:
- How are the XDA servers bearing up under the weight of all these members? Getting error 502-bad gateway is a routine occurrence when I log on at night in Europe (daytime in the US) and find all our American cousins logged on, hogging our servers. How dare they (lol)
- Given that this site is probably singularly responsible for a whole load of people sticking with the HTC brand, has anyone from XDA actually approached HTC for financial support and/or technical collaboration? We seem to be solving all their problems for them and keeping them in business without so much as a Corporate thank you in sight
- Moderation, with this number of members, must be an absolute nightmare. How does one nominate oneself to carry on this good work (hint hint)?

1 & 2: the 502 errors are software errors, the only system level workaround is to build an entire resilient failover system, and this will be more that just new hardware .
We (well the admins) are still working on the software issues that are causing the problems.
As for moderators, we are 60 strong, but not all active at once, some of the others have real lives to live.

Cause it's utter nonsense would be my primary reason, but I got a bag of good reasons too

You Rock XDA for Saying No to Bigotry!

Thank you XDA's moderators for keeping this group focused on the phones and development rather than a place for bigots to throw insults around and use hateful, prejudiced language.
I was searching on the web for a new ROM for my Galaxy Note when I came across one here on the XDA site that looked interesting. After getting into its thread, I noticed it was closed. So, being the curious person that I am, I copied the dev's name and did a search on it. Sure enough, the dev was still using that name on aR new forum. On this new forum, someone asked him why he was banned from XDA. He responded that he had been suspended once before for calling someone a "fag" and then set up a new account to get around it, was caught, then banned for a year. Recently, he was in a "fight" with a moderator one night and the next morning discovered he was banned for life and all of his threads were shut down and his links/files were removed. He feels he was treated poorly and this was too harsh because all of his "hard work" was now for nothing. He was looking for others to commiserate with him, and of course, there were those that did and welcomed him to the new forum.
Well, I say good riddance. I will not be going to that other forum while he is there. I have no interest supporting bigots. He obviously saw nothing wrong with calling someone a "fag" since he so proudly mentioned it in his response, trivializing it as though it was nothing. I can only imagine what hateful language he was using with that moderator recently.
So again, thank you to XDA's moderators for keeping this a place for everyone to feel comfortable and not supporting bigotry, YOU ROCK!

Also for what it's worth, I agree with you 100% about the great job that the moderators and admins do.

Update November 5, 2018: This list is no longer being maintained.
Here on xda there are plenty of good developers out there. However, I have seen many developers who are very good at programming but not at designing and theming. Many great apps work perfectly but do not look very pleasing. In my opinion this is a very sad condition.
On the other hand there are also many great themers and designers here on xda. They create appealing themes for third party apps and share their modified versions with the online community. :good:
Hence I asked myself why both developers and themers as well as icon or graphic designers do not work together.
Developers need people who are good at theming and designing just as the themers and designers need developers to work with.
The best part: Both will benefit from this cooperation.
For that reason I created this thread. If you are a themer or designer, send me a PM with a link to your profile. I will add you to the list.

By the way: We have already got great lists for app testers, translators, developers and marketing experts.
This was featured on the XDA portal on May 17, 2013.

Just one change which came to my mind:
To help the developers decide who to choose, you can create a post here in which you give links to examples of your work. That is your possibility to show why you are the perfect person for the job.

It's called "senior moderator". It's an unreleased package, you have to bribe a LOT of people to get it, but once you get it, the fun begins !

Mods are also regular members!
Honestly, I am a bit tired to follow the rules... I mean Mods are the ones who should show the example and it's sometimes frustrating, we need to be careful anytime... This is why I've bought the HOTHEAD pass.
Well that means I won't have the hot pink... Hmm... not a big deal, this is a minor issue. Thanks anyway man!
Now I can profit!! After 5 years being a mod, all those constraints are gone!
