T-Mobile Marshmallow ROM question - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Are there any Android 6 ROMs that support Wifi calling on T-Mobile? I have searched multiple threads and posted (polite) queries but to no avail. Unfortunately I rely on the wifi calling feature and am still sitting on an old version of Skydragon.
Few of the more popular Sense ROMs are getting updated frequently and it has been weeks since the M9 and M8 updates were released so I'm wondering if there's a problem with porting over this feature.

@xunholyx Thanks! I really appreciate you taking the time to respond. Would it be possible to add that link to the first post in that thread? The thread is about 3,000 pages long and searching the thread search function doesn't make finding such info easy.
I've installed the ROM and it works great. I've used Viper before and was hoping to switch back once Marshmallow was available with T-Mobile support...now I'm back!

[Q] WiFi Tether for root users not working on SlimROM ROM?

I am about to deploy in a couple of days and I just updated my TMO S3 from an old Hyperdrive ROM (4.1.2 based) to the latest SlimROM (4.4.4 based). On the old ROM WiFi for Root users was working just fine, but now I can't seem to get it to work. It appears to turn on, but my tablet does not see the SSID, so I can only assume that it is not actually working. Does anyone have any idea how to make this work? I have run searches and tried to find something obvious, but I have not found anything so far that works. I am now very short on time and don't have several more days to spend looking further. Any suggestions?
Im sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I wanted to suggest posting your question in the roms thread. Not many people check the Q&A lately, and you'd have more people who are familiar with that rom seeing your question.
Good luck!

Appreciate the info...
You could also check if the same rom is available in the AT&T forums. It's a more active forum and their roms are often very nearly identical to the T999's.

[Q] Custom ROMs with s5 emulation and T-mobile Wi-Fi calling

I've been using EchoeROM to have the s5 software features on my Galaxy S4, but I miss the WiFi calling feature that T-Mobile has with its stock rom. Does anyone know of a custom rom that has the cool features of the S5, but also allows WiFi calling?
Hey, I know I'm a new user and all, but just wondering if anyone would answer my question? Please?
There isnt one yet, most dont focus on the wifi calling part because its a pain to integrate. Its one of the reasons why I stayed on 4.4.4

Thanks for letting me know. I'm hoping that someone will do one soon, but I'm enjoying the s5 features too much to go back to 4.4.4.

Its possible, but I think its more complicated than installing the APK.
A few custom ROMs have a T-Mob option that includes WiFi calling (which is why I say it must be possible), so you might opt for one of those.

For further info on @redpoint73's response, as long as you are running ROMs based on the same firmware as T-Mo's latest version, the wifi calling should be implemented.
If you are trying to run ROMs based on newer firmware, or are using a ported version of the new Sense, wifi calling will not work. T-Mo doesn't have anything compatible with it.

Wifi sharing via wifi

Hey I'm new here, and was looking for some help, and hoping I'm posting this in the right place.
When I say WiFi sharing I mean sharing my connection using the WiFi I'm connected to not my phones hotspot data.
I did a little bit of research looking around for a way to do this, and I found out my girlfriends g5 can do it and my g3 can too with a ROM I flashed. Fulmics LGG3 Android 6.0 rom to be exact. I now have a Note 3 and was wondering if there was a way to add this feature to it. :fingers-crossed:
I also found this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2215003
Which basically talked about the same thing on a iPhone, using f2router, pdanet, and even WiFi sharing via USB, but these are not what I am looking for.
(If you own a g5 or flashed Fulmics Rom give it a go Settings>Network>Tethering>Wifi-Hotspot go to "Setup WiFi Hotspot" scroll down and there's a check box for Share via connected wifi.)
You are certainly in the wrong spot but lets get you in the right direction before you get flamed .
XDA has a separate section for almost every device. You'll want to start at the base Note 3 section. There you will find several specific sections. I'd start with rooting the device and getting a custom ROM in one of the Development sections that suits your device/carrier needs. If you have questions and need help with your Note 3, post a question in the GALAXY NOTE 3 Q&A, HELP & TROUBLESHOOTING section.
The Wifi hotspot is not unique to the G3, and on stock ROMs most carriers charge you extra to allow you to use a Wifi hotspot on your device. You were able to use it on the Fulmics ROM because it's enabled without the interaction with your carrier or the stock ROM. Fulmics is based on a stock international ROM I believe and is heavily modified/enhanced. I'm betting every custom ROM you find for the Note 3 will allow you to use the Wifi hotspot at no extra cost from your carrier.
I hope that gets you pointed in the right direction, Good luck! :highfive:

So to be clear I just make another thread over at the Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting?

You could start with that, yes. However I recommend getting a custom ROM on your Note 3 first. A custom ROM should have the Wifi sharing you are seeking.

No offence, but I specifically said not sharing my hotspot data, and it seemed like that's what you were trying to point me to. I know wifi tether is available for most devices but what i am talking about is different hence my reason for making this post. I will take your advice and look at ROMs available for my device. (I'm rooted+twrp+xposed+stockrom for now anyway lol.)

You're right, I only skimmed your posts, because I'm trying to point your Note 3 questions far away from the LG G3 section. XDA noobs usually get flamed hard when they post in ridiculous places, so I was hoping to prevent that.

[Discussion] New to Android, Thanks XDA Community! No Audio on call or phone app.

Firstly, Thank you XDA community for helping me with my new first android device.
Secondly, I would love to thanks the developer who worked on really awesome custom ROMS for the devices, they worked really flawless.
Now my Question is: Is it only me or anyone else having problem with tmobile variant device, that have no audio and mic on phone app and in-call.
It only happens with custom ROMS. I did search for solution, before posting this thread.
I came up with two zip files under the name audio fix for tmobile on 7.0 OS. But those didn’t work. instead one of the zip caused boot loop. SO, that being said, is there an ANGEL!!!! to help me with this problem. I really want to use custom ROMs or atleast cleanest / lightest STOCKED ROM.... thank you in advance for reading and responding to my thread.

Your not the only one having this issue. Apparently the call libraries (or something like that) are different for T-Mobile variants of the s6 edge plus. I ran into the same issue when I first got this phone. What you need to do is look for custom ROMs who offer explicit support for SM-G928T. I started a thread on the issue a few months ago. On there I put a list of ROMs that have working call audio with no add ons. Feel free to check it out if you'd like.
