I don't know if this is a phone specific issue or an issue with the play store. I have noticed in the last few days that the download speed for apps from the play store is horrible. Is there anything I can do to speed this up some? When I first got the S6 edge+ the speeds were great.

I am facing difficulty downloading anything from the play store when using 4G connection. I can get great data speeds on speedtest and anything else data related, except play store downloads. SGS3 does not have the same problems. Wifi downloads are not affected.
Has anyone else faced or resolved this issue?
So far I have tried clearing play store, download manager, google account, services framework, even went as far as a factory reset.
Suggestions anyone?
Thanks.
Edit: Version 4.2.1
Turns out it was the towers. After NV upgrades to the others in the area it's working now.
Is it just me or does some downloads from the play store seem slow lately? Even on WiFi? It seems to be more related to Google apps than others. I was wondering if it was just me or are others experiencing it as well.

Have noticed Wi-fi on this phone has become pityful. Only getting 3mbs download on speedtest and was unable to watch youtube or netflix.
I had a TWRP backup from February 2014 and decided to restore. Immediately upon restoration I noticed Wi-Fi speeds it over 20 mbs, but once I updated all apps in the playstore I noticed a drop to 3 mbs on the speedtest. I think this is proof of planned obsolescence.
Anyway, I restored the backup for February 2014 again and blocked all updates from the Play store and only updated apps that required an update and now I am hovering over 10 mbs on my wi-fi connection, clearly fast enough to enjoy youtube and netflix without buffering.
Anyone else have this experience. I hate how these "updates" degrade performance take away function and allow too many privileges to these stupid apps.
Hi I have spent days trying to figure this out, on my s5 that i just swapped for the s6, I could always run netflix and other video apps without any issues in lte or spark. Now i cannot run these apps unless on wifi or 3g, looked everywhere and the only info i could find was sprits new contract says that you will be limited to streaming on 3g at 600k, wanted to see if anyone knows if this is true and if there is a way around this as i would of never got a new phone or contract if i had been told this. I also cannot download most apps from playstore unless on wifi even if it is only 30 MB.
Thanks i advance for any info or fixes
Hey everyone!
So for the past few days my phone has been downloading stuff from Google Play at a ridiculously slow speed. I have a 1 Mbps connection and yet it took me almost an hour to download a 50 MB App.
I'm quite positive that there's nothing wrong with my Internet since I'm able to surf and download stuff from other places at normal speed, It seems to be an issue with GPlay only. I've already tried clearing the Cache & Data for both Google Play and Google Services Framework, even attempted a data reset but none of it seems to work.
So if anyone could suggest me a possible solution or even direct me to a thread, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!
