Clamp both volume buttons and the power button, hold until you reboot.

Okay, reboot'ed... But still there is that dotview screen. I'm gonna download twrp and delete htcdotmatrix...

I deleted htcdotmatrix (dotview app) in /system/app in TWRP. Very strange becaue it looks like our devices are damaged by water or have broken magnetic sensor...

will report it back in few minutes..want to ask if it gives any error after deleting DOT.APK

Nope, no errors... It works like disabling an app in settings.

problem i dont have APP folder in in SYSTEM

@y0 You must go to TWRP main screen -> "Mount" and check 'mount system'. Now go to "Advanced" -> "File Manager" -> System -> App Good luck!

waooo
thanks mate its fixed for now

You're welcome

[Q] Phone can't boot for 5+ minutes everytime flashing ROM

Currently running:
Android Revolution HD 21.1
Firmware: 3.28.401.7
Recovery. TWRP 2.8.1.0
Bootloader unlocked
S-OFF
Super CID
Hi guys I need some help as I feel like I'm at risk of bricking my phone everytime I flash a ROM. Just got my M8 recently and everytime I flash a ROM, it is very difficult to turn the phone back on after flashing. This has happened for both ARHD 21.0 and 21.1 for me, they are the only ROM'S I have tried since having this phone. But after the ROM finishes flashing and I select "finish now", the phone shows a split second of the TWRP lock screen and then turns off. From there it is very difficult to turn on the phone no matter what I try. I have tried holding power button for more than 30 seconds, holding power button+down, and power button+up and still no luck. However when I plug the charger in, the red charging light turns on but nothing comes up on screen still. I have to constantly attempt to hold/press the power button for over 5 minutes for the phone to turn on, and once it's turned on its fine to turn back on even when I restart/turn it off. This has happened EVERY time I flash a ROM and I need help as I really feel like I bricked my phone every time.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thank you.

Can you check TWRP and disable screen timeout? Then reflash Rom and see if that fixes the problem
What are hboot and radio number? Either from hboot screen, or adb getvar all.

Ok, I'm going to try that and let you know when ARHD 22.0 is released because I try to avoid flashing ROM's as much as possible now. Not a nice feeling when it happens..

Please edit your post and remove imei and serialno. Posting them in public forums is a big no no
Please delete your IMEI and serial number from the above post. I only asked for hboot and radio number, but forget that folks here are sometimes over-achievers!
Moderator Information,
IMEI and Serial number have been removed. Please do not post this online. It is personal information.
Many thanks,

Try turning off the screen timeout in twrp. That's a common problem with roms that use the aroma installer

Stuck at HTC logo screen

Well, there was a tiny update that came up after I had downloaded Loloipop update long time ago.. It was something about security, so I couldn't care less since it is not a big deal, today my friends told me about Marshmello update and said I had to download this tiny update, so I get the Marshemllo update... I went back to stock recovery, downloaded and installed that update succesfully, then my mobile rebooted and stuck on black blank screen, I kept restarting my mobile by holding power button + volume up, but still I get same screen.. Can you help me with that? I did the steps you asked so you know about my mobile information..

Can someone help?
Just to confirm, is your phone stuck on HTC boot logo or it's a black screen?
Try holding power and volume up, when it restarts let go of the volume up and hold volume down to try to boot into the bootloader

Also please erase your serial number and your IMEI's for security purposes. Your security specifically. You can leave the rest though.

Well, when I shutdown my device and open it back, it gets stuck on HTC logo screen, then I hold power button+Volume up button, it restarts, goes to htc logo screen then a black blank screen appears..
I can get normally to bootloader by holding volume down after it restarts and I did factory reset through bootloader, but it didn't help still..
So basically, I have normal access to the bootloader normally..
If the screen stays black after holding power + volume up, there's something wrong with your recovery. This usually results in a blank black screen with backlight still on.
To get your phone booting again, you'll need to download a different recovery image.

Help needed - M8 keeps rebooting

Hello at All,
I need help with M8 of a friend of mine. He got OTA Update to MM, now it keeps rebooting itself.
I googled and tried to find informations at xda, but I can not find a solution.
I am able to get access into Bootloader, Fastboot and Marshmallow, but after a few seconds it restarts itself.
Just enough time to get to developer options before it chrashes.
Boootloader is locked, S-ON. Factory reset via bootloader does not resolve the problem.
here is fastboot getvar:

1. Remove serial & imei no. from your post.
2. Have you tried wipe data/factory reset in recovery instead of on bootloader ?
on hboot select recovery. If it doesn't go directly to recovery but stuck on black screen or red triangle,
press and hold volume up button then tap power button once.
3. If no.2 still fails ... try this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926626&postcount=6

I maybe wrong but what you explained is like a emmc failure (hardware).

[SOLVED][help][modified][sense home unfortunately stopped]

Hello, Greetings XDA members
I have HTC M8x, unlocked bootloader, S-ON,rooted, stock rom, software status was official.
the phone and keys were in the same pocket and i guess volume up + power button might have been pressedd while the phone was in pocket.
the phone vibrated and restarted and was stuck on HTC screen with the famous red warning saying this build is for developement purpose..............and took 1 minute to boot, when the phone booted a screen came saying "ANDROID IS STARTING, OPTIMIZING APPS"
normally when this screen comes the total apps to optimize are 176 , but this time it was only 43, finally the phone booted completely. Now all i have is lockscreen and notification bar i cannot use the phone as it pop comes on a blank screen saying
1-"Sense home stopped unfortunately do you want to send this report to HTC"
2- .the process.com.google.gapps has stopped
3-exchange service stopped
i booted the phone into bootlader the software status has changed to modified.
i had made a nandroid after rooting the phone but the backup being of 7 gb i shifted it to SDcard.
i booted the phone to TWRP recovery to restore the backup but TWRP is unable to find it, it shows nothing when i select sdcard at recover option in twrp( i think its in sdcard so)
and now my phone takes lot of time to reboot. as everytime i restart my phone it gets stuck a while at htc screen with red warning message.
i cannot transfer the backup to twrp internal storage as i do not get the pop to select file transfer when i connect my phone to my laptop
i do have a RUU of my phone matching my region. I will have to relock my phone to flash the ruu
can i unlock it back i do have the unlock.bin file.
what shall i do.
PS: any way to remove the red warning i just dont want to wait so long for my phone to boot

HTC One m8 WiFi issue

hi all,
trying to fix a m8 for someone and its had many issues... eg it came without a system installed (Person accidentally erased the system partition using TWRP) before that it ran cyanogenmod rom, not sure on version
we managed to put a firmware on it but it suffered an issue where when the phone shut down due to low battery it would be rendered unbootable and it couldnt turn wifi on even when it would run..... only way to get it to start up again was to clear dalvik cache and cache options in twrp,
fast foward alittle i got some nandroid backup from a telstra firmware off one of the forums on xda here and got it booting and able to stay running (i think) once the battery drains.... however i can turn wifi on... tap the button it goes darker like its turning on then nothing.... when i turn airplane mode on and off it comes up with error fail to load driver Reason unknown error (1)
would anyone be able to help me out on how to fix this? any more info u need just ask and i should be able to give it.... but here is the fastboot -getvar all readout

Try restore the correct nandroid version if it was not done yet.
For your getvar info, you need to restore 2.23.841.1 nandroid backup. Anything higher version you'll have wifi issue
You can get it here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860
