Hello at All,
I need help with M8 of a friend of mine. He got OTA Update to MM, now it keeps rebooting itself.
I googled and tried to find informations at xda, but I can not find a solution.
I am able to get access into Bootloader, Fastboot and Marshmallow, but after a few seconds it restarts itself.
Just enough time to get to developer options before it chrashes.
Boootloader is locked, S-ON. Factory reset via bootloader does not resolve the problem.
here is fastboot getvar:

1. Remove serial & imei no. from your post.
2. Have you tried wipe data/factory reset in recovery instead of on bootloader ?
on hboot select recovery. If it doesn't go directly to recovery but stuck on black screen or red triangle,
press and hold volume up button then tap power button once.
3. If no.2 still fails ... try this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926626&postcount=6

1. removed - thanks for the hint!
2. fail - it reboots into android
3. fail - reboots after fastboot oem rebootRUU - into android
I maybe wrong but what you explained is like a emmc failure (hardware).
Let's wait for others to give their opinion (if any)

Hi guys I need some help as I feel like I'm at risk of bricking my phone everytime I flash a ROM. Just got my M8 recently and everytime I flash a ROM, it is very difficult to turn the phone back on after flashing. This has happened for both ARHD 21.0 and 21.1 for me, they are the only ROM'S I have tried since having this phone. But after the ROM finishes flashing and I select "finish now", the phone shows a split second of the TWRP lock screen and then turns off. From there it is very difficult to turn on the phone no matter what I try. I have tried holding power button for more than 30 seconds, holding power button+down, and power button+up and still no luck. However when I plug the charger in, the red charging light turns on but nothing comes up on screen still. I have to constantly attempt to hold/press the power button for over 5 minutes for the phone to turn on, and once it's turned on its fine to turn back on even when I restart/turn it off. This has happened EVERY time I flash a ROM and I need help as I really feel like I bricked my phone every time.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thank you.

Can you check TWRP and disable screen timeout? Then reflash Rom and see if that fixes the problem
What are hboot and radio number? Either from hboot screen, or adb getvar all.

Ok, I'm going to try that and let you know when ARHD 22.0 is released because I try to avoid flashing ROM's as much as possible now. Not a nice feeling when it happens..

Please edit your post and remove imei and serialno. Posting them in public forums is a big no no
Please delete your IMEI and serial number from the above post. I only asked for hboot and radio number, but forget that folks here are sometimes over-achievers!
Moderator Information,
IMEI and Serial number have been removed. Please do not post this online. It is personal information.
Many thanks,

Try turning off the screen timeout in twrp. That's a common problem with roms that use the aroma installer
Edit: sorry, I overlooked someone else who had the same answer
Help! I've bricked my HTC One M8!
I had TWRP and root and wanted to install the latest OTA update. I downloaded what I thought was the stock recovery and flashed through Fastboot.
Everything was fine, rebooted and the OTA updated downloaded and installed successfully. However, on re-starting, the phone is stuck on the HTC One logo screen. The power button is un-responsive.
I can power down with "power and up" and get to fastboot with "power and down". If I select "Recovery" I go to the stock recovery screen.
It's an unbranded UK model and I did a get var all before flashing:

Any idea if I can revive this thing?
Thanks all!
I've managed to fastboot TWRP onto there and I can get into the TWRP recovery screen.
Any idea what next?
Try reinstall SuperSu zip and reboot.
If still stuck, restore 4.16.401.13 backup (system only)

Thanks for the prompt response! I haven't taken a backup and I'm a bit out of my depth here!
I've downloaded the 4.16.401.10 firmware from XDA. Would that work? How do I flash it?
No.. that won't work.
As I said.. reflash SuperSu zip since now you have TWRP installed.
If still stuck, restore the partition part from 4.16.401.13 backup
I know you don't make the backup.. how can you make backup when you can't boot your device after OTA, right ?
I have that backup and it's in my thread linked in my signature

Hi, I'm in need of some assistance if anyone is willing to help.
Just updated to Marshmallow few day ago through OTA. Since my M8 has only 16GB of internal storage decided to root so that I can move some apps to SD. It's my first time rooting a device so I searched through the forum and followed these steps:
1) I have succesffully unlocked bootloader
2) flashed TWRP 2.8.7.0
3) downloaded and installed SuperSU-v2.67 ( from chainfire's download page ) via recovery
After that the only way to get to bootloader is to hold volume up+power and after screen goes blank press volume down. No way of getting back to TWRP recovery, even tried factory reset via bootloader and no changes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Boot loop problem solved by flashing RUU found HERE . I still have to figure out what went wrong with rooting in the first place
Edit:
Did it! I got stuck to boot loop again when I accepted automatic install of Super Su in TWRP. Everything worked when I manually intalled Super Su v2.67. Got root access finally

TWRP isn't updated to root MM, so the result is a bootloop.
So i accidentally wiped the phone including the internal storage and the OS instead of factory resetting (wasn't paying attention) and tried to re install the android marshmallow OS onto the phone which didn't work..
i managed to flash the twrp by following another forum where someone had the same problem, using the adb process to flash the bootloader etc but now i can't access the recovery at all, it just says entering recovery and remains idle until i get bored of waiting and power off.
Can anyone help me?
i can provide whatever information is necessary for you to help, just need my phone revitalised as i desperately need it for my new job that i should hopefully be starting at the end of the week.
thanks in advance!

I have quite the same problem (and i have One M8). I want to get the stock back, but it's impossible without entering TWRP. Can someone help me please? It seems that i do not understand this thing anymore.

Fastboot erase cache, then flash TWRP again in fastboot. Try TWRP 2.8.1.0, which is an older version (more compatible with your old firmware). Then see if you can boot into recovery.
Or flash signed firmware, to update firmware (yours is ancient) then flash TWRP 2.8.7 and restore a newer stock backup (corresponding to the firmware flashed).

Thanks a lot. I've tried the first solution and at least TWRP is now working. I've tried the same thing, but it seems, that it was a wrong version of TWRP
Many apologies, turns out i misread the model and its actually the M7 i have. But im glad that this post is helping others with my original problem and thanks to other members who contributed to helping!
