I really like being rooted and I used cyanogenmod 7 release candidate for at least a week and I missed stock so I flashed it back. I really don't know much about kernels, so I was wondering if a custom kernel would work on the stock Rom and change much of it?
Yes. You need a Sense based kernel.

I would recommend Lou's #8 or Chads, both run great on stock roms.

I'm hardly new at flashing roms and kernels, but I'm having no luck finding a ROM and custom kernel combo that works for my n7 deb model. On my N5 I'm running beanstalk with francos kernel, but that combo will not boot on my n7...can you guys reccomend a kernel for Deb running 4.4.2? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
Try Glitch kernel if you want to play around with overclocking etc.
Bricked if you want a smooth kernel that doesn't really need to be configured.

Anyone recommend a really good ROM for the Nexus 7 2013? I'm currently on CM, but AICP, Rastapop and screw'd android seem interesting. Just don't know whether to try them.

If you want the best ROM for you, then you should try and test them yourself. Everyone can say that ROM or kernel X and Y are the best for them but you could not have the same experience as them. I am also undecided about what ROM should be my daily driver
I've used it on my Nexus 5 and would love to use it on N5x. However, I want my phone to be stable and I don't want to reflash my ROM and etc. Has anyone used it? What are your experiences?
