Hi Everyone,
I have an unrooted Nexus 5x, and I accidentally deleted a video that I actually need. I've checked checked the trash and it is not there. Any ideas on how to recover deleted video?
Thanks in advance

I believe it only goes to trash if you delete it through the Google Photos app and not the camera. Also, I would think it needs to be backed up.

That will not work. You cannot mount a GNex to a PC so the recovery software will work.

Uh sorry buddy Ur screwed. The only possible solution you could have is using Root Explore. And that requires. And I'm not even sure if that would help

great! thanks for the info
Well if u dont want a cloud backup use this.. Its really good and even backs up apk files for the apps installed without rooting your phone,

I bought myself a Nexus 4.
Now i'm trying to move everything from my current Desire HD.
Data like pics , music and so i'll just do manually trough pc , contacts i exported to SD and then imported them in Google , apps go trough play store and for text i'll use an sms backup app.
The problem is app data and settings.
There are some backup apps that can do it but they either require root or abdroid 4.0 and up.
My DHD is stock and unrooted , so my question , is there another option , way around it , very easy root method or whatever lets me backup the app data and settings ?
You need root and titanium backup.

Is there an easy way to root ? (doesn't need to be permanent i guess)
If you tell us which version of android you have we can advise you better...
Before rooting, Maybe you could try using "js backup" it's supposed to be able to backup without root, but, I've never not been rooted while using it, so can't be sure how good it is.

Just FYI, "stock and unrooted" is not necessarily 2.3.5.

Yeah , my bad
(just assumed it was , as in stock has latest update)
Came across Carbon App Sync and Backup while googling solutions.
It is the predecessor of Helium and it should work for GB to (helium requires 4.0 or up).
Found the apk for it but can't open it on my phone , it says " prblom with pasing the package " , what does that mean ?

My backup pro does backup without root. I have never used it so, I can really know how it works but I know that works without root access.

So i would think that it won't backup app data+settings without root ?
(if it was a free app i obviously would have tried it already)
Edit : it even says literraly :
NOTE: Data/setting of applications can only be supported if you have a rooted phone, or if the application integrates with us.

Have you tried JS BACKUP to see if that works on nonrooted phone?
Edit: just realised you can "unroot" phone in superSU temporarily, tried it myself it backs up, but FC trying to restore, so it must need root too

Was looking into that but read this :
UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER WILL FACTORY RESET THE DEVICE AND YOU WILL LOSE DATA

So i'm f ' ed either way ?
Root = loose data
Unrooted = no way to backup ...
I thought that only happens when you run a RUU. Can someone confirm?
I can confirm, bootlader will factory reset the device.

I use my backup pro. Its way simpler than titanium backup, and there is a free version but I paid for the pro. My backup will nack everything up for you but if your not rooted then it isnt able to access the app data so cant back it up. I dont think you will be able to find a solution without rooting. When I rooted I used the AAHK which is no longer available on xda as the dev fell fell out of love with them but can be found through google.

My Galaxy S3 shows up and it installs fine. The Note is greyed out. Says this app is compatible with some of your devices. Are you using the 600?

OK, best way is download the latest to your phone, make a backup of the app, then restore it back on your tablet.

Will try that. I have Titanium Backup on my phone, I assume I can export the .apk from there? The Note is not rooted, but I installed the last one posted via Dropbox, so that should work again.
