Background noise on speakerphone - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Hey guys
For soke strange reason. People keep telling me that when I am on speaker phone they can hear a ton of background noise. I tried some of the known fixes out there. Such as going into the call settings and unchecking the noise cancellation feature. As well as toggling on and off enhanced lte features. Nothing seems to work and people keep tell me there is a ton of background noise even when I am in a quiet room. Any other tips or tricks I might be able to try?

background noise too loud

I get complaints from my friends/family that the background noise is very loud. My voice is fine, but just the background is very loud. Is there a way to stop this from happening? This has happened on a few roms I used (CRC, REVROM, JoshKoss, etc.) Right now I am using one that kareem made for me.
Thanks for any help.

[Q] is there a way to keep Noise cancellation off?

I noticed that callers on the other end constantly complain about how I sound like im either stuck in a tunnel or theirs a bad echo. Turning off noise cancellation seems to be the key. However it has to be done on each call. Is there a way to default this to off?

[Q] Issues with Volume gain being too loud

Edit: Well nevermind I seem to have fixed it. I thought it was the gain, but as it turns out I had the Noise Filtering option checked. The audio quality in calls is clear as mud now.

Noise cancellation not working properly

Hi friends,
Can you guys confirm that noise cancellation is inactive in OOS 3.2.7 stock, unrooted, locked or do I have an isolated issue?
Tinkering around on my phone OP3 in the engineering mode, I did an "echo test". When "Primary mic" is selected, the speaker echoes the taps or my light blows into the respective mic but no such thing happens when I try that with the secondary mic.
Is this a bug in engineering mode for the oneplus 3?
if yes, how can I test for noise cancellation else where?
if no, can I ask for replacement?
Thanks

I dont think its a hardware issue, most probably the mic is just fine. That is the reason why phones usually have dual, sometimes more, microphones to help with noise detection and cancellation, but Op3 still has problem with this mic recordings and noise cancellation. I think this is either due to coding and programming issue with audio threshold of recording or dismissing noise, or due to the fact that microphones do not coordinate together properly which may be due to poor placement of the mic on the back of the phone that can get blocked often. Im interested to see if someone solved this problem, since i have quite a lot of trouble with it, when i use speakerphone in whatsapp call many times i talk but the phone doesnt register it, or it registers it really really low volume. Im not having the same issue when i talk on the normal audio call mode.

Yes, people are saying that noise cancellation might not be working properly.
If that's the case, I'll just want to make sure my hardware is not at fault here since I can't hear anything from the secondary mic.
Can you please try the above in your phone's engineering mode to see if it works for you or not.
Thank you.

LG G7 ThinQ microphone on calls problem!!!

I am having issue with my LG G7 ThinQ, whenever I made or received a phone calls the person who is talking to me is hardly hears my voice but if I change it to loudspeaker the voice is very clear and when I'm calling using the whatsapp calls there would be no problem with my voice at all wheter I am using the loudspeaker or not. I wondering there must be a problem with the software or hardware? Does anybody can help me with this problem?
Happened the same to me. I contacted LG customer service and they changed the microphone with no charge because the device was in warranty.
I also had this problem, others complaining that can not hear me good. For me the fix was disabling in call settings the noise suppression and voi e clarity. ?

Does this fixed the issue?
Yes it did.
I'm facing similar issue. How can I disable noise suppression and voice clarity? Couldn't find it in the settings. I'm using Verizon device with the latest updates.
I thought that my upper mic is dead at first. But then I tested video recording and both mics are working fine. So it seems like it's a software issue?

Call dialer, then tap on 3 dots, call settings, sound, noise surpression off. Leave voice clarity on.

You just saved me £200. I just bought this phone new from a mate and I thought he f*cked me over and was about to throw it and buy a new phone, because I had tried everything from new ROMs for different regions to screaming at it.
Did what you said, and now people can hear me properly.
Noise suppression on this phone is taking its job too seriously.
I bought 2x of these phones with a tmobile deal. They both suffer the same fate. You have to hold the phone at a perfect angle to your mouth to get it to pick you up. I assume its made this way to eliminate any background noise. I didn't know of the suppression and clarity settings and now that I tested them, I can hold the phone upside down on my ear and the other party can hear me.
It was probably a good idea on paper for this design/feature but it was very frustrating having to correct the angle of my phone to get my voice to work properly.
