Does awake after been lock for a long time - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all, like the title says, when I leave the phone lock for long time, 20 min or ore, I cannot wake it up, not by 2tap or power button. The only way is to take out the battery. I just bought the phone 2 days ago and I install android 6 and made a factory reset. Any idea why? And how to fix it?
Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk

do you have a screen protector (mostly tempered glass) that covers the light sensor on the top bezel? that gave most people trouble (lots of reports here somewhere). replacing screen protector with right cutouts or simply peeling it off fixed most of people here.

[Q] Screen on the Arc S

So I bought my first ever android device the other day, an Xperia Arc S. Love it to bits, however I really am paranoid.
I haven't bought a case yet, so I dont take the phone outside (use my old phone) and I haven't got a screen protector yet either.
I was looking up screen protectors for the Arc S online and I came across a post that said apparently the phone comes pre-installed with a screen protector. Is that true? I know I have a spare set of screen protectors that came with the box, along with the HDMI cable, USB cable, Mains adapter and Headphones. However, no leather case as I've seen people mention!
I'm in the UK so it's a UK phone, and bought it Sim free and it's the white one.
If it does have a screen protector on, is the protection enough? Should I put on another screen protector, just to be safe?
yeah they come with screen protectors on. look at the corners/edges in the light and you can make it out. i've found the screen protector is enough protection, although if you are prone to dropping your phone often, you may want to consider purchasing a case/pouch.
also before you put another screen protector on, remember that screen protectors tend to dim the display as it creates another layer for the light to go through. also this extra layer means you may have to press a bit harder on the screen.
I even removed the factory applied screen protector as it was scratched up a bit and so far no scratches on the screen.

Thanks guys, so I take it it's a global thing, rather than it being region specific?
I've bought a case and pouch (hasn't been delivered yet)
Since you guys are owners of the Arc S, how do you feel about the bottom 3 buttons? Do they feel a bit loose and flimsy to you?
Got the Arc without S and the buttons don't feel lose.

Hmm that is a bit worrying. What I mean is that the other 2 buttons (back button and settings button) seem to only have one connection point (in the middle of either buttons) and because the buttons are long, as they move towards the Home button, it feels really loose, and I can press that part of it quite inwards without the phone responding?

My home button feels quite loose, other 2 buttons feels better.

Also I have a question, don't need to make a new thread for it I reckon:
The top of my screen (statusbar) burns in a bit, probably because of water (leaving it unprotected in a damp bathroom, I'm a dumbass). But there's another issue. I've got a lot of dead pixels in the top half of my screen, maybe ten of them, they're easy to spot on a black background. Could that be caused by suspected water damage too?
I've contacted support, and they said their logistics partner would call me to let them get my phone, but after two missed calls they haven't called in weeks (suckers).
The sticker on my battery hasn't coloured btw, and no other issues on the phone too.

One X screen very prone to scratches

Hi,
I have got my One X for about 2 weeks now and there are multiple micro-scrathes on its screen already... (some of them are covering half of the screen). They are only visible when the screen is off and under certain lighting and angle, but it is quite annoying - I am worried how would the screen look like after a couple of months.
I am very careful with the phone and never keep it in my pocket with any other items. I have got HD2 previously for almost 3 years and with the same usage pattern its screen hasn't got a single scratch.
I suspect it is not Gorilla Glass that gets scratched, but some kind of coating (oleophobic?) on the screen.
Is your experience similar?
Dude there something with the screen. Its sh1t. i dropped the phone yesterday from my bed and on the right top of the screen there is a brake on the screen and some scratches too.I had Galaxy S and i dropped it several times and from higher position than bed and non a single scratch i dont mention the ****ing brake.i am already thinking replacing the digitizer .its a fuking new phone its not that i have problem with the broke as long my lcd is working but u know what i mean
was the swearing necessary?
replacing the glass is hard- the screen and lcd are apparently attached and spare parts are expensive, let alone the effort required to disassemble the phone (as the m/board etc are attached directly to the screen)
the screen is also laminated - maybe this coating is getting scratched? i don't know exactly what laminated glass is, just what it achieves.
Its necessary when they say Gorilla Glass should be Gorilla Glass. Its the same screen as galaxy s.Anyway i am afraid removing the digitizer would damage the LCD too by accident and the problem will be larger. so i am not quite ready to do that.i can live with a scratch
Sorry to hear your dramas with the phone.
I have mine now over a month.
I use a flip leather case now, but had none for the first two weeks and I use my phone a lot but with no screen protector and I don't have any scratches on it.
You must have hit something with sharp edges hard.
I had a SG2, never had a screen protector and was exposed as I didn't use a flip case. It never got any major scrathes, but hundreds of tiny ones that could be scene in the right light only.
This is a much better glass in my opinion.
Hope you are able to fix yours without too much trouble.
Cheers.
I too have many minor scratches, it does not hinder its use so I'm alright with it, I was but no longer using the HTC branded flip case that phones4u have me when I upgraded. Offers no protection and is clumsy to answer phone quickly lol.

I have noticed these micro-scratches too (funny I googled HTC One X micro scratches and this page came up). I haven't dropped my phone and I haven't put it in my pocket with anything else. At first I only noticed them in the sun, but now I can see them indoors as well. You have to turn the display off and hold it at an angle to see the scratches, but they are there.
Today i returned mine after 2 weeks it had a scratch in the midle on the screen and it was visible when the screen is off...
I hope they replace it i dont whant to have a scrached phone that costs 700 euro and is suposed to have gorila glass.
And i havent droped it or put it in my pocket with other items.

Are you sure they are scratches? I noticed something similar on my HOX the other day and thought I'd scratched it at first, but the whole screen seems to have that pattern and it's far too regular to be tiny scratches. I think it's part of the screen (digitiser?) as scratches wouldn't look so regular.
Think I have a few on mine now...not gonna get too beet up about it, it's only a phone and will probably be swapping it for something else in six months..... Which will probably get scratched too, lol.

Wow I'm really surprised when I read these posts
My story I had my one x in my pocket no case or screen protector and was in a rush for the bus and just chucked my coins in my pocket not realising it was the same pocket my one x was in and ran for the bus only when I went to get my coins that I realised my phone had been bouncing around with the coins in my pocket like a washing machine while I was running
Subsequently I almost scrapped myself thinking I've commited the ultimate sin I expected to see a crapload of scratches
To my disbelief besides a couple of light scratches on the polycarbonate back that just rubbed off the screen was fine I remember think what?! That can't be right and for the whole bus ride I was furiously examining the screen, holding it on an angle in the light to try and detect even the most minor of scratches and still found nothing ever since then I couldn't stop praising the screen on the one x
The camera lens was also scratch free but I'm thinking that was just sheer luck

Guys I am forced to believe HTC isn't using Gorilla Glass on all models.. I had the Thailand version and it scratched crazy easy. I now have the HTC ONE XL and i can take a key to it..
I have two minor (about 5mm in length) hairline scratches on mine. Inspected my screen at an angle with powerful flashlight just to barely notice them after having read this thread.
I'm not going to be bothered by those, but I am going to do an occasional inspection and if I notice a trend I'll put a screen protector on.
I have some screen protectors for the phone and even applied one, but tore it off immediately because the bare screen is much better to the touch and does not have that stupid rainbow effect the protector had.

Yeah, these are definitively legitimate scrathes, very irregular, there is no pattern.
They seem to get worse and worse every day...
A $2 dollar screen protector would have prevented this. Just saying.

I am tired of reading about problems in HOX. I start to think I have another phone no one x. I have it 1.5 month. I have no problem at all.
I am not using screen protector and case. Just a poutch.
Twice I had drop it from the base of the car and hit the screen in different places. No problem.
Usually I put in my pocket without the poutch. There is no scratch on the screen and polycarbonate.

[Q] Touch screen doesn't respond to touch

My S3 has been working fine for months sort of. I bought it off of ebay with a huge crack in the glass, then my brother dropped it and all the glass fell out. To use the phone we has to touch the bare LCD of the phone, which after a while we just but a screen cover over it. I waited 2 months, bought a new glass replacement and put it on, everything worked just fine. After a little the home button when pressed to the left a little would make the screen go crazy. it would start tapping and swiping in random places. After locking and waking the screen the phone was normal again. after that, i removed the glass again, and this time when putting it back on if i pushed the home button it pushed the glass down a little, which would turn my screen black. locking the phone and waking the screen again turned the screen back on. Also the screen was a lot less sensitive, i'd have to tap a key 2-5 times sometimes to hit a specific letter. whenever that happened i put 3 dsi's to weigh it down and push the screen down, which would improve the sensitivity. that worked twice, and now my screen doesn't respond to touch at all. the screen will wake, but only when i press on the bottom right corner of the screen will it respond to touch. Any word on what could be the problem? i need to know what to buy to replace in the phone. I've already taken the whole phone apart and plugged everything back in, after i had tried everything to get my phone to respond. Could this be a digitizer problem, or an LCD problem? any possible fixes without having to replace anything?
The first issue was using the device without the glass installed. By touching the bare LCD you most likely damaged it. Your best bet at this point is probably going to be to replace the Touch assembly ( Glass / LCD Touch digitizer ) . Also keep in mind, when doing any sort of Screen replacement. Be sure to keep everything as clean, and dust free as possible.

[Help] Display not responding

Alright guys, I need help. I purchased my device right at the launch day. After a month, I accidentally dropped it badly, and even after it had tempered glass at the time (didn't have bumper) the screen got cracked along with tampered glass. Device was new at the time and I didn't want to spend another 100 bucks for display. And it wasn't that much badly damaged either, so I could live with it.
Fast forwarding to this date, after 2-3 months, the device was lying on the bed. A minute before it was working completely fine, but now it's display is dead! It was just lying there and there was no damage done whatsoever.
LEDs, charging, everything works just as fine, but the display shows some random greenish strips at random places when I press power key to turn it on.
Now, earlier accident was not covered under warranty, but this is definitely not my fault. If I take it to care center, how can I convince them that the screen did not die because of accident and that the accident was 2 months before.
Kind regards
try to heat down and the bottom of the screen. sometimes helps for amoled display if there isn't any visual damage to actual screen under glass.

Like I said, there are 2-3 cracks on screen as well when it was dropped earlier.

Anyone else having issues with the capacitive buttons?

I checked the Q&A section beforehand to see if anyone else was having similar issues, but didn't see any similar threads.
The Problem:
Sometimes, when pressing the back button (and to a much smaller extent, the home and recent apps) it double taps. For example, pressing back to go back a page in Chrome will result in it going back 2 pages. This double tapping behavior.happens with all the keys, but is most noticeable with the back button due to how often it is used.
Possible Causes:
I suspect that the current screen protector may be causing issues with the buttons. I am fairly certain I have seen this issue before in other devices that used capacitive buttons. I'm currently using a glass screen protector that covers the entire face of the phone. As it stands right now, I value the protection of the screen protector enough to keep it on despite the potential issue it may cause.
It is possible that the buttons themselves are defective, but hopefully that is not the case.
Other Observations:
If I take my finger and slide it onto a certain part of each button, it causes the button to be pressed rapidly without having to lift my finger. Also, I can sometimes overload the buttons, to the point that the backlight of the buttons turns off and they become unresponsive for a few seconds.
The Questions:
Has anyone else noticed similar behaviors with this phone?
Can any users with and without glass screen protectors test out the spazzing button glitch?
Thanks! :good:
I have the same issue with the buttons.
Sometimes, when press any buttons, it detects two or more pulsations.
I have tempered glass screen protector.
I have no protector and do not have this issue.
