Hi,
I have read the sites and watched the youtube videos about how to use TowelRoot to root the Samsung S5 AT&T SM-G900A vision 4.4.2. I am sorry to say, none of them work. Most of the time just say "unsuppored" or just lock up and does nothing when "make it rain". I would love some help as I want to use Tracker to toggle location services on/off. Please help.
Thank you,
Waterclosetbiker
Well, coming over from the Captivate Glide forums, I'd like to say that I'm enjoying most of the changes done over the years but there's a few negatives I've noticed.
I bought my Note II on swappa and it was on 4.1.1. I tried updating over Kies, and recovery gave me a red warning saying "unsupported version." After crying and fighting Kies and Odin, I finally got 4.4.2 stock from http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-2-att/development/rom-att-i317-ucucnj1-mj4-stock-odex-t2973448 and with that being stable for me, I started working on getting all my apps.
My Recommended Apps:
Flashlight: To Activate the Torch widget
AcDisplay: Minimalistic Lockscreen
Amazon Kindle: ebooks
ArtFlow: drawing
Pandora: music
Textra: alternate text/sms
Themer: amazing themes
So, I thought I'd start my introduction to the Note II community and hopefully finding out what's good and bad on the Note II and what apps, themes, and ROMs for daily drivers ya'll recommend to use.
Welcome to the Forums I'm more of a lurker here on XDA but I've had a note II for over 3 years and use this site frequently!
Thanks for the app list! Been looking for an app like Artflow for a while now!
My Recommended Apps:
1) Nova Launcher (polished customizable launcher)
2)VSCO Cam (Photo editing, with tons of presets)
3)Keep (Create notes, lists, to-do lists)
4)Power Toggles (since stock doesn't have data on/off from drop down menu)
6)DoubleTwist (Music player with podcasts)

By asking in the appropriate Q&A, Help and Troubleshooting section.
How do I get both features on my T-Mobile branded Note 2.
I currently have Jedi Master X2 running, which has the wifi-calling, but no tap-and-pay (yet?).
Perhaps there's an xposed module for tap-and-pay?

Unfortunately it's one or the other.
Officially for tap and pay to work you need a 4.4.2 or up Rom and T Mobile never released anything past 4.3.
There are many 4.4 roms you can flash on the tmobile note II, but DN4 2.2 in Att note II section would be my recommendation.
Regarding WiFi calling...
If you are using a Google voice Phone number you are in luck. You can link hangouts to make phone calls over data.
If you are trying to use your tmobile number, then you will need an official rom from T mobile. Unfortunately they stopped at 4.3
So yeah, one or the other unless you are using your Google voice number.
I figured as much.
Thanks for confirming.
I cited old information. Please delete this post.
Can i install samsung messages app from galaxy s5 or s6 ? i really like his design. Where can i find an working apk and how can i install it ? Thank you !
No. I don't believe you can use it, as Samsung apps use Samsung Push Service.
Thanks
