Did you want a case that looks the same as the one in the picture (side case), or were you just interested in the 360-degrees swivel?
I have a flip case (opens fron the bottom of the phone towards the top) that has a plastic belt clip. The belt clip can turn a full 360-degrees.
sorry i did not specify my fault.
Yeah i was looking for a case that is side loading where i open the case i can pull it out right away, just like a regular pouch but with magnetic latch, as well as a swivel 360, or 180 clip to hang over my side. so yeah i guess just like in the picture design and all could be different but same function as the one in the picture.
That's a nice website - it works well and I like the way it remembers 'my' phone and can display accessories specifically for it as I navigate the site.
How much would shipping to the UK cost for a desktop cradle? I can't find any shipping cost guidelines on the site. It would be helpful if you could give guideline prices in the FAQ.

If it's just the cradle, $9.85 US (about 4.67 GBP)
Thank you
My brother bought me the cradle for my Touch from your website as a gift for Christmas, and he said the service was excellent, so thank you very much. You delivered it to France very quickly.

http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=199788 Is the official One and will be released Soon
Go to http://www.brodit.com, select English and then search for 'Desire' (top left).

As far as I'm aware we don't have NaviPanel installed by default - could this be packaged with Froyo possibly?
It's a bit of a leap of logic, but it seems significant that they're choosing 22nd July to launch this when the Froyo rumours seem to be pointing towards the next fortnight. Why else would they wait so long to get a product like this out?
EDIT:
If your Desire is not unlocked and it's from any particular operators, then the phone might not come with NaviPanel' software.

I saw the brodit one before alright, the mounting mechanism is a bit naff though. Prefer the good ol suction jobbie on the windscreen

You have to stick a cable into your phone with that i think. Im looking for something like the brodit where you dont need to use any cable. the micro USB plug is mounted in the stand
I bought one of these from the bay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260613246983
Had one from the same company for my HD and it was brilliant!
They're a little pricey, but they fit perfectly and do the job nicely!
I have two , the brodit and a cheap one from ebay that I got for travelling.
Brodit is nice but doesnt allow you to use a flexiskin on the desire. The cheap one does as it has two pressure pads at the side, and its amazing for the price. Used it for a weeks holiday abroad without any problems.

[Q] kickstand4u - Would you want a generic easy to install kickstand for your phone?

I have designed a generic kickstand that will work on all mobile phones, e-readers, and tablets (two may be needed for larger or heavy tablets) and would want to know if this is a desired option if it were available and what you think it would be worth.
I have one on my personal epic and it works perfect and is Very Thin. I will make a video or pictures if there is enough interest. It definitely works better than the Evo or Thunderbolt kickstands, it is not as "tip-able" in portrait or landscape mode.
This would be no required modification to install and would take less than 5 seconds to install. It is simply called kickstand4u tm mobile kickstand for all mobile devices!
******************************************
As of 11-22-2012, the kickstand4u tm is now available.
Please use the Promotion Code without quotes "XDA" for a 25% discount and to say thanks to all of you! Please help me spread the word. I hope you enjoy the kickstand4u tm as much as I do. I have another development coming soon made specifically for tablets of all sizes and will simply attach itself to the kickstand4u tm. I will post information about that here soon. Enjoy!
So Bottom line: Retail Price = $9.95 - XDA 25% off Discount Promotion Code = your price of $7.46 - shipping and handling = $2.45 - Your total cost = $9.91 - price may vary depending on postage - Yes we take PayPal.
******************************************
Just a Note for those that are still on the fence.
The "XDA" Promotion Code will last as long as I can keep it going. I appreciate the support that you have given me.
I thank all of you that have participated in this initial offering. If you have liked your kickstand4u tm, please help me spread the word. I hope you enjoy the kickstand4u tm as much as I do. For those that are using the kickstand4u tm on their tablets or e-readers, keep checking back from time to time, as the Tablet Extender and Tripod Mount will be available sometime the summer of 2014 along with a new 2nd Generation kickstand4u tm mobile kickstand for all mobile devices. Of course the 1st Generation will be able to make use of these two new add-ons, and there is an upgrade - so checkout our new website for more information! Thank you again!
Thanks very much to all!

Link to "Alternate" way to Close the kickstand4u tm
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVYXCUIEJgY
This way is especially helpful when new, as the kickstand4u tm is a little stiff. This is the proper area "touch point" to use when closing. When the pressure is at the very edge of the kickstand blade, it will close very easily. When closing by hand, use the same principle. Pressing on the short piece of plastic that looks like an upside down capital "T" will damage the kickstand.
 ******************************************
*Install tips for Tablets 7" and up: when determining best position on tablets 7" and up, placing the kickstand4u ™ in the "center of your tablet" seems to work best. As far as kickstand orientation on your tablet, see links below:
Sorry for the rough pictures, I will get some better ones up, but at least this will give you an idea.

If it were to your liking - would you - I can't post pictures yet - but it would be about the thickness one and a half pennies flat.
I have to keep the idea closed for a short time - thank you very much for your comment!
I would love this.... once I saw the kickstand case for the evo3d I knew I had to have one for my epic
yeah not sure why you wouln't try to post pics somewhere... as it is there are cases for the epic that have a kickstand so its not the first time... put them on picassa or something
I know my g/f wants one for our phone.

Actually, I have to talk to the mfg first - but trying to get a feel for it before our talks.
If things don't go as I planned, I will probably post pics and instructions on how to build one if you are handy, but doing it that way is more costly (approximately $34.00 plus labor) - therefore generic.
But will post pictures and or videos as soon as I get the word. Thanks for the response!
I would like it if it fit my case that I have AND I would like it if it kick-standed in portrait and landscape (and landscape with the keyboard open, but I don't think that is possible).
I am pretty happy with my Izel stand, so it would have to be even better.

hell yes i want one as long as its not bulky as hell

SkOrPn Samsung Jig & USB OTG

When I had a Vibrant, the jig helped me out of a few jams. Not too long ago, I got the Galaxy S2 as a replacement, so when I started playing around with it, I wanted to make sure I had one close by just in case. The jig is a tiny little thing and I'm prone to losing things, so it was long gone by the time I looked for it again. I decided I'd go cheap and ordered one from an eBay seller in China... that was a mistake. It was definitely cheap, but it didn't do a thing when I plugged it in. It wouldn't turn the phone on and it wouldn't put it into download mode. No sense in returning it either since the return shipping would cost more than I'd get back.
I still wanted to get a working jig and as luck would have it, I found a US based seller when I was looking around for a Kindle Fire factory cable. It turns out that he hand crafts these himself and XDA members give him overwhelmingly positive reviews for his products and service. I sent off a PM and he wrote me back in a flash, I put in my order and had it in 2 days! It's nicely built with a lanyard cord on it so I'm less likely to lose it and most importantly... it works!
I've attached some pictures here with the SkOrPn jig, the Chinese jig (the one without the cord that doesn't work), and my Galaxy S2 with the SkOrPn jig in download mode. It might cost a little more than the cheapest jig that you can find on eBay, but I'm happy to pay a little more for a quality product from a guy who takes pride in the things he makes. FWIW, I'm not affiliated in any way to this seller... I'm just a satisfied customer. He doesn't go out of his way to solicit sales of his products, so I just wanted to get the word out there for anybody that might be looking to purchase a jig for their phone.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/230634690605
http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=500006
Almost forgot... I've exchanged a number of PMs with him this past week and inquired about getting a USB OTG cable adapter. He said that while he doesn't currently make them, he'd certainly consider it if enough people showed some interest. Personally, I think a USB OTG cable is at the top of the list of must-have accessories for this phone, so let him know if you agree with me!
Does this one reset the counter on when booting into download mode?

The short answer is I do not know. I did flash an OS through ODIN at one point, but never looked at the download count to see if it had even incremented. That phone went back to T-Mobile for display issues before I got a working jig and I've only flashed a recovery with ODIN after that. There appears to be some mixed opinions on whether any jig will reset the counter, but I doubt that one jig would reset it while another would not. YMMV.

I'm glad that worked out for you. In my OP, I was just sharing my experience of ordering a cheap one from China that failed to do anything and then purchasing one from SkOrPn that worked as advertised. FWIW, I'm happy with my SkOrPn purchase even though I paid a bit more. Ultimately, I was glad to provide a small amount of support to a fellow XDA member and getting a quality product in return. To each his own.
I would love to support another member but you might want to have him update his ebay postings. As of now it does not list the jig working for the SG2. If he updates that then I would place an order.

I don't work for the guy, so it's not my job or place for me to tell him to update his listing, but I did send him a PM to have a look at your post. With that said, he states in his ebay listing...
The "SkOrPn JIG" is compatible with all known Galaxy S class phones, including the following:
So, that list is not an exclusive compatibility list... it's an "including, but not limited to" list. There's no difference in jig specs for the different models. If it works in those phones, it will work in the SGH-T989. I've also posted a picture in my OP with the jig in my phone.

Yes I understand it's not your job. I was only suggesting you let him know since you have started this thread in an effort to spread a kind word and support a member.
Also in the event I had ordered a jib from his ebay listing and it did not work I wouldn't have a leg to stand on regarding a refund because the model is not listed but I do understand what you are saying. In closing I'll kindly bow out of the thread since your reply seemed kinda aggressive.

It is already listed in the eBay ad for SGSII. I have sold over 1900 of these to xda members, teamwhiskey members, edt members and via word of mouth in multiple IRC channel's since 2010 and to date it has not failed on any samsung phone, the only failures have been phones with corrupted bootloaders a.k.a hard bricks. Also you said SG2 and I'm not aware if any SG2 devices so I can't list that device. All Samsung Galaxy S and SII series smartphones use the same resistance value for Download Mode as far as I know including the latest Google Nexus.
Thanks to the OP for getting the word out on my premium high quality Download Mode JIGs. There is NO OTHER JIG made as good as this one PERIOD

No worries, it's all good.
Sent a thanks hit your way.
It has come to my attention that some devices do and some don't have the Counter Reset feature. It is up to the purchaser to know if their phone works or not with that feature as I only guarantee Download Mode. Apparently the i727 or T727 (lol not sure which it is now) does not have that feature yet it is based on the SGS2 internals.
What is even more disturbing is I can not find any information that suggests the T989 works with even download mode. I found this Q&A that seems to suggest that Download Mode works but Counter resetting does not. However again, lol, I am sure I have had customers with a TMO t989 purchase my JIG and they were happy as can be, so Im not sure if they ever tried the counter reset thingy. And my tester Alexea sold her SGS2 to get the Gnex.
Please if anyone can let me know for sure one way or the other I would appreciate it... I get emails all the time asking me about the SGS2 phones and the Custom Binary Counter reset feature and that feature is not present on my T959 test phone.
EDIT: kinfauns says his T989 definitely goes into Download Mode, but he does not know if it works with the counter reset feature of the device. Also, all my ebay listings have been updated to include the T989 and many other devices.
You should offer local pick up in Albuquerque and I would buy from you.

The Chinese ones are not much different, in fact its the same exact connector and the only difference is the Chinese jigs are not tested to make sure the pins in question make contact, and so there is about a 15% failure rate, or even higher maybe. Someone like myself test each port before I even solder the resistor onto it, so I can weed out the bad apples and throw them away. They also do not test it on an actual phone to make sure it goes into download mode, and I do
Hence why they are so extremely cheap.
So is this jig for when the key combination doesn't work?

In-Flight (USB/Dock) Keyboard for Note

I just realized one thing I'll miss about my Transformer is having a physically connected keyboard that I can use while travelling by plane. From what I've read Bluetooth keyboards are a no-no for in flight usage. Has anyone used a USB connected mini-keyboard using the Samsung USB adapter? I also know Samsung will be coming out (from what I've read here) with a keyboard dock but it's not available yet. I thought I also read somewhere that the Tab 10.1 dock will work with the Note 10.1.
Has anyone had any luck or a good setup for using an in-flight keyboard setup for the Note 10.1?
Hello.
I use this one http://www.logitech.com/fr-fr/mice-pointers/mice-keyboard-combos/6229
Works perfectly, both mice and keyboard .

Still based on frequencies, so not what the OP is looking for.

Exactly. Might not be BT but anything wireless shouldn't be used in flight.

I'm ready to order one! Don't even care about battery and ports on the Asus one I had. Sure it was nice but I've lived without them just fine. Just need a real hardware keyboard for travel.

Ok, I know everyone will probably gag on this but...
As I was reading this thread, I went upstairs and obsconded (kids dont use it, WTH) the WII Usb KB and connected it. Works fantastic!
If you have one laying around... it may solve your want.
I picked up the official Samsung keyboard dock last week, it works nicely for that purpose!

Unfortunately, it's expensive and not available in most stores yet. Picked it up from the Samsung store in Sydney CBD.
Just so you know, Australia and USA both use the US keyboard layout (as opposed to the UK, which uses the UK layout), so maybe that could help you guys in the states source one of these? You won't have a messed up layout like you would ordering from the UK. Then again, I don't know any Australian place offering these for shipping internationally so that could be moot.

Very frustrating to not have these available for purchase in the US.
Is it possible to close it? Like the transformer or a regular laptop? Dont feel like not being able to close it..
An extra battery would be nice though incase of very long flights or train/car rides..
It doesn't hinge so you can't "fold" it closed like a regular laptop. Instead you just pull it out of the dock.
I know it has been discussed but I wanted to share my work. Not beautiful but it works. This is the dock for the Tab 10.1 modified for use with my Note 10.1

Sorry man but "not beautiful" is an understatement. Let's just say I'm glad I waited for the Note 10.1 version!
Anyone tried this one? Ordered and am waiting on shipment - which takes forever

I think someone posted a link to the same thing, but on eBay. Don't think anyone's ordered it yet.

I'll give details and feedback when I get it. The shipping sucks though. Schedule for 12-18 arrival
