I'll fix your HTC phone or provide parts

Hey guys. I have gotten alot from this website so I would like to give back. I own and operate a mobile phone repair shop and would like to extend my services to this forum. Most of you seem pretty techical so even if you just want the part (microphone, ear speaker, Loud speaker, LCD) I will provide it for you at a low cost plus shipping of course. I mostly deal with hardware issues so please don't PM me or post asking about software, I am a total noob when it comes to that!

If you can source the vibrate motor for an HTC S710 I would be forever grateful. Where abouts are you located?
EDIT: I see you're in Phoenix.

Most of the parts I carry are for US released HTC phones but often they carry simular parts. If you can post a picture of what it looks like I'll see if I have a match.

I will upload a picture in a little bit, however here are the specifications from the HTC Vox Service Manual for the motor;
JT0406-30CSR1, JNTECH, Cylindrical, 3V, 100mA, 12000+/-3000 rpm, 60/-, 20degC, 11.2*5.1*5.8mm
The cylinder has J7D05 printed on it and has 2 prongs that make contact to the pad on the PCB. I've tried many different other motors but none of them physically fit in the spot. So if you have any motor rated to those specs and is smaller or equal to the dimensions above, I will take it.

Here are two pictures of it. They are quite large, so not inlined. Not my camera, one of those funky digital ones that I have no idea how to adjust the focus on.

A friend of mine has an O2 XDA Orbit but the usb works for charging but not for the data link.
Is this fixable? and if so, do you perform the fixes !!!!

I had the same problem with my Dash/Excalibur. I had to turn off the USB charging feature in the settings and then the data worked fine. I just either turn it back on if I need to charge via USB on my PC and don't have a wall charger handy. Tell your friend to try that.
Edit:
Also Turn off Advanced Network Functionality to along with charging over USB.

If the pins in the socket look straight re-flow the solder on the mainboard or get someone to do it. It's fairly easy. New sockets are about $4 on fleabay but as there are multiple lines close together you do need skill to replace.

Right on! I have been wanting to replace the metal bezel that goes around the front of the AT&T 8525 (U.S. HTC Hemes). Mine has gotten quite scratched and scuffed over the last year, and I would love to have it returned to it's original clean, shiny look.
Do you happen to carry this part by any chance? Or know of an affordable place to obtain one?

I get mine from a guy on ebay. I used my last 3 over the holiday weekend so I am out till I order some more on Monday. They are about $28 shipped. Link below....

If you need the full housing email Amit / Raki Computers and ask - they have them as well at not much more $ ( about $26 IIRC) if you ask although the parts they sell are used / stripped from BER phones so some have minor marks and it's pot luck.

Uni hinge pieces

Hey all.
Just thought I'd post my experience here.
After owning my uni for a few years, I thought it was about time to give it a make over.
My main annoyance was the hinge pieces / spine where the paint had chipped off. I tried touch up pen........ looked worse.
Googled and ebayed but all I could find was housings only.
Eventually I just took the paint off and, after several applications of Autosol.....WOW! Shines like a mirror! I'm shocked that no one i here has tried this.
Next task is to use the old housing's exterior metal branding as a template and put a chrome piece in the new cover (on the spv m5000 housing)
I'll post some pics as it progresses.

Autosol is metal polish in a tube. Really good stuff.
I'm sending the phone of for the 128mb upgrade before renewing / modding the housing.
Decided on aluminium for the outer branding and found a guy to machine it.
Any of you guys know if you can get silver buttons (camera, volume etc) for the uni or will I have to get them plated?

I too can personally vouch for how good Autosol is ;-) its about £5 or so from Halfords iirc
BTW karl where have you sent your phone off to to get the 128mb upgrade done? And for how much can i ask?

I've been contacting a guy called Joe at retronix uk ltd.
Very helpful he's been.
He quoted £80.00 to do it. They want the entire phone (not just the board) and the charger. They also want a 128mb rom loaded on so they can test it once it's upgraded.
Payment is going to be by debit card.
Hope that's enough info for you.

I dont suppose anyone has an mda pro keyboard and toggle button (one next to the screen) spare / for sale?

Tried the chrome thing on da hinges a year away. the main problem is dat it needs attention every month. mine got yellowish in a month. also try touchin the hinges while the phone is on charge. ull feel electrified a bit...lolzzz.

I would say that it is. The image looks like the official one, the info says it is and the article-nr is the official one as well.

it says it clips onto the back, why do you believe that it doesn't?
it says its official, it looks identical to the one that others have shown, the description fits..

I ordered one a couple of days ago, like lots on here it seems (availability went from 100 odd to zero quite quickly). I think one thing's for sure - if it really isn't the official clip cover then the seller is going to see an enormous negative surge on his ebay rating . Will probably find out tomorrow...

Yea man, the ROCK have different version too,
I'm currently located in China and this taobao.com site has some different one like grey, maroon and black which look really nice.

Three lights are located at the top center of transparent piece. so it should light up front and back evenly.

Went to T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon retail stores today looking for a universal case that would hold this device and none of them had one!
This cannot possibly be the only 5" device on the market. Pathetic selection. What kind of business model doesn't have accessories to support the devices they provide?

I totally agree with what you say and unfortunately we have to wait till it becomes more avaiblable in the US. If we were in Europe or else where it would be easier.
All the stores like ATT tMobile, etc. in the US are garbage and useless. Unfortunately this is how it is here.

Nimche, you don't know how it is here in Brazil... Hahaha. Anyway, yes, having no support on a product you bought... really sucks.
I had one of the FEW Sony Ericsson Satio that were sold in Brazil, and trust me... A Nissan Pathfinder went over it, and the cellphone was still working perfectly, but obviously over asphalt the screen got cracked... There was NO Sony Ericsson retailers that had the screen, and only to fix it, it'd cost me 1/3 of the price of the device...

Yes, I feel what you say as well. No wonder here in the US people like to get iPhone alot because you go to store and buy the darn thing with all the accessories you want and even WindowsMobile you could go to MS store and get it but Sony with all the power it has is like Sh*t. You go to store, you find the most useless people on the planet to work there, they have no clue what they are selling and no information of what is coming. Every time I go there, I have to surprise them with new Sony's technology.
That hard case is like the original Sony branded (website didn't fully work) but I think Clove at UK and Expansys USA will start selling them too Expansys USA
I like the blue one tho.

I went to Sony Style yesterday to maybe surprise myself and find some guys with knowledge but it failed... What did I expect? They have some nice wifi speakers tho. Maybe I get one.

I am going to be ordering the Nillikin case for this. Only a tenner and happy to wait the couple of weeks it will take from china. Nillikin have good reviews so I think this could be a winner. I cannot post links yet but it is item number 160760327876 on eBay UK for a pictures

I've recently cleared out my draws and found my old OnePlus Bamboo cover, in its box lol, not a single scratch on it.. I was wondering if it's held its value (or even increased) as I cannot find any one sale today

Is that actual real bamboo?
I know aliexpress still sells them (the real ones) and also plastic (bamboo coloured) ones.
I have 2 of the real ones, which both broke within a year. I'd say that the longer you wait, the less it will be worth since less people use the phone

3 months later and there is zero info on any remaining original cases, does not matter were. All the aliexpress original links are gone, subjectively nobody is selling spare original ones anymore. I've been searching for them quite the bit haha. To me it seems like the phone, with a broken screen plus one of the original backcover is worth about the same as the case was back in the day.

Well.. that is a case, not a style swap cover. A few months have passed now.. and some people just got rid of their old phones/cases. I'm pretty sure on ebay or your local resell platform you can find something. I have seen some for exorbitant prices or broken ones.. the real deal, untouched as much as possible is super hard to find - but yeah.. playing the waiting game for sure helps.
