Recently my T-Mobile S6 Edge Plus started waking up randomly... It will just be sitting there and the screen turns on every minute or so. It's stock, not rooted, so I'm lost trying to figure out what's causing this. Can't use Wakelock Detector since I'm not rooted. GSam doesn't show anything that stands out. Any thoughts?

i have the zedomax v3
any1 kno y is this happening?
Mine is completely stock (unrooted) and it is getting hot like this for no apparent reason.
mine only started to appear after V3. now i'm on stock + root and no problems. i also believe its giving me better battery life.
It's been a few days since these comments, but wanted to point out something I noticed today.
Last night, I turned on GPS to teach my father how to use Google Maps for navigation on my former Evo3D. I left the GPS on during the night, and it was fine.
Today, I decided not to turn off the GPS, and see how the phone fares. As usual, I turned on Spotify and I was on my way on the road. Usually, whenever I need to switch playlists, the phone is at normal temp, not even warm. Today, the phone was hot, and the battery was drained to 60% in only 30 minutes of usage. Insane! I don't know what the deal was. I did see Spotify using 32% of battery, and OS using 42%. Usually, OS uses 61%, and Spotify about 3%.
Wonder if Spotify + GPS is bad combo...
I know my phone has ALWAYS gotten hot if using GPS + navigation while charging. But this was ridiculous! (phone was NOT charging).
Anyway, was hoping Spotify was not the culprit, and that it was the GPS. But I'd hate for the GPS to do that to my phone as well...
Spotify was streaming over 3G; that might make a little difference?
Any thoughts?
Hi all,
My phone is not going into deep sleep.
Does anyone know what this wake lock is?
Thanks,
Rich

Hi. Not sure that's happening but I found a thread which sorta discusses your problem. Hope this helps somewhat.

Thanks for the link.
I figured it had something to do with a charge state, but the battery icon didn't indicate that the phone thought it was charging.
I rebooted the phone after noticing it, and it is going into deep sleep again now.
I'm wondering if the Note 2 is similar to the Note 1 where it sometimes doesn't go into deep sleep if you disconnect the charger with the screen off.
I can't remember if the screen was on or of when I disconnected it this morning...
I've only had the phone since Sunday, so not really long enough to notice a pattern. Plus it's been idle foe very little time since then.

Most likely it's a software problem. I don't think it will behave like the first note as the internals are different and the note 2 is more akin to the behavior of the s3.
It would be really nice if you could observe your phone and report back. Also, new firmware has been released recently addressing "stability issues." Maybe you'd like to check for an OTA or plug it into Kies. Glad your problem was solved.

My SGS 3 has started wake locking, and obviously this drains my battery like crazy. I'm still within warranty period unfortunately my screen is cracked. I take it that this would void warranty? I seriously doubt that the phones wake lock issue is related to the crack in the screen but if anyone has any ideas as to what might be causing it, input would be much appreciated.
Phone is unrooted, stock. I have not installed any apps within the past few days or even the past week. It started doing this two days ago. I noticed when I went to pick my phone up from not using it that it was often warm like I had been browsing the web or gaming. Usually after a day at school I still have 50% + left on my battery. Phone started dieing mid day friday, and ever since I only get about 4 hours of bettery life before it dies. I have tried shutting off bluetooth wifi, uninstalling various apps. Changing settings to not allow anything to access mobile data without my explicit permission. I was getting like 20+ hours before this started.
Also "Android System" is the process draining the battery. It's using anywhere from about 60-75% of my battery. Standby is down at 6%.
So my questions, am I screwed and unable to return under warranty because of crack? Does anyone know a common bug that might be causing android system to wake lock phone.
Do a factory reset. Stock ROMs love to be annoying.

I just received my new phone via UPS a couple of hours ago. The sim card was already in it, I popped the battery in, and I turned the phone on. The AT&T chime played but the screen never lit up. The capacitive buttons will light up and make a sound when touched, but the screen is still dead. I've had it plugged in for over an hour and the screen still won't light up. I've restarted it, removed and replaced the battery and the sim card several times and no dice.
Did any of you have to fully charge the phone the first time you started it up before the screen would come on? Definitely sounds like a dumb question to me since I've never needed to fully charge any new phone I've ever had before I could use it, but I figured I'd ask in case this is a weird new feature. I'll leave it charge overnight and if it still isn't working, I'll make my way to the store hoping they still have stock.
Did your phone sit out in cold weather at all?

Good question though, thanks.
first of all thank you for taking the time to read through this.
Yesterday I woke up and reached over to check my LG G3. I had left it charging overnight as I usually do and while the phone was still plugged in and I tried to go through my notifications, the screen flickered and went off. I was puzzled cause the phone was fully charged and the screen has no cracks and barely any scratches. I was trying to restart it and the LED light started flashing as I heard a notification sound.... I proceeded to take out the battery hoping thatd help out and nothing.
I thought my LCD took a **** on me but I tried to restart the phone once more about an hour later and then the LG logo came on shinny as ever. Then the AT&T logo, I thought all was well but then the screen flickered again and went off. A few moments later I started to hear more notification sounds and I saw the LED light start blinking.... everything in the phone works except the screen.
I changed my sim card to an old blackberry knock off so I wouldnt be cut off from the world while I went to work and when I came home I tried to play with it once more and the phone started working normally! As I was playing with it I raised the brightness and the screen started to flicker again but did not shut off. I immediately brought down the brightness and the phone seemed to work normally I then tried to open the camera and the screen went off completely same happened when I tried to refresh an app. What could this be? the battery? currently I the screen doesnt stay on for more than 10 seconds and does not work at all when plugged in to charge
Also in the last couple of weeks I was experiencing overheating but I assumed it was because of the rise in temperatures and the fact I spend most of my day outside and Im constantly using my phone. I am also guilty of using my phone while charging.
Any input you may have is going to be helpful. I need to figure this out as I use my phone to work more efficiently.
Thank you in advance!
I am having the same issue. I'm going to contact LG about this on Monday.

got answer ?
Yeah, they changed the entire display and said that the error could come from a defect battery. So i bought a new one and hoped for the best.
I still had the error today. I will try installing another rom so I can be sure it isn't the software.
Or else LG will be getting it again.

Well, they got it again... Twice. They changed the LCD panel and the mainboard. It seems that the latter fixed it. I got it back on Saturday and haven't had any problems since then.
Fingers crossed

I forgot about this post but I used my warranty last year and got a new phone or refurbished. They didn't tell me. Here I am a year later with the new phone and the same problem came back. The only thing that seems to work is baking the main board at 350 for 10 minutes and letting it cool down in the oven for 30 yet the problem comes back. After a week or so. I'm convinced the overheating of the phone is he culprit
