Samsung repair turn-around time? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note5

Broke my lcd. Glass was fine, zagg glass SP was broken and digitizer underneath broke. Forgot I had a tool in my back pocket with phone and too much pressure broke it so I sent it back to samsung last night (forgot to add insurance).
2 day shipping there and 2 day shipping back included in the $188 repair charge. Anyone have to send their note 5 off to samsung? If so, how long did it take to return to you?

Gave it to att for repair. Took 7 days.

Re read my email from Samsung. They say 5-10 days.

Mine took about 8 days.

I'll be sending mine in next week to att, cracked the glass right down the center. If it takes a week I might just tell them I lost it (I have the insurance)and get a new one.

HTC Desire screen broken

I dropped my HTC Desire and i have no display, i can see crack on the LCD. Can anyone help me how to get replacement LCD or get it repaired.
Get in touch with htc support. They will collect it from you free of charge and tell you how much the repair cost would be.
If youre in the uk I can give you the number, otherwise do an email contact on the website. They respond fast.

I emailed HTC and surprisingly they answered very quickly and they asked me to book it for repair on Monday and I'll update you how much it costs.
This would be useful information, I dropped my Magic quite a number of times and it survived, but with the much larger screen on the Desire... I am really afraid to drop it.

Ohh maan! This morning my Desire was on a bedside cabinet and in some kind of mood I swiped it off and it hit the floor and the screen came out and cracked the glass and the case!!! I desperately tried putting it together but ended up pulling more of it apart and as the device got bigger the wires inside snapped and the glass shattered
Then I woke up

dropped mine a few weeks ago and the screen cracked, have been trying the local repair shops but the part isnt available yet. contacted htc and they arranged for a courier to collect it this morning. they werent able to give me a quote over the phone but would get back in touch within 5 days with a cost for repair. really hope its not overly expensive but i have a bad feeling
They gonna collect my phone tomorrow and cost of repair around £150 approx.
got quoted £119. not sure how its broken down though, i have 2 different levels of repait one at £45 and one at £28. not sure why when there is only one thing wrong and thats the glass. i have contacted them again though.
apparently if i want it back without them repairing it it will be £15 they kept that bit quiet.
on another topic, does anyone know when the local mobile phone repair shops will have the parts for the desire
My screen cracked this morning.
Called them and the lady quoted me £65.37 for the repair,
£11 for UPS then VAT on top so roughly £90.
Declined, thinking the local stores would be cheaper
but none of them have the part in stock.
Looks like I've no choice but to call back HTC and
hope they return the phone is asap.
Next time I'll buy a case for the phone since
the "screen" protector didn't protect the damn screen!
Okay finally got the actual quote screen costs £45 and £28 for some repair and £28 labour plus VAT so final cost £119.
I'm getting mine back tomorrow from repair also, cost me £120ish which was a bummer, but to be honest I was expecting more, with iPhone screens and digitisers costing up to £100 on their own
spare part
Hi,
I repair HTC Desire cracked screen myself, it's not so hard as it looks. If somebody is interested, I have two HTC Desire digitizer for £40 at my location in Czech republic and I can send it anywhere.
Just contact me at [email protected]
I cracked my Desire's screen last tuesday, in friday i sent my cell to the service and they did not tell me what will be the price of repairing my htc.
I am not such an expert with repairing phones so I will have to pay for the service. Will update with the price.
Got my phone back yesterday, and a case came today. Same phone as before, and all in great condition and working well, other than some dust now stuck under the screen which I might try to get some money knocked off for

I've never used a screen protector in my life and not really a big fan of them.
Good call on buying the case, stands up to a lot more damage than an invisible shield can and also protects the rest of the phone, not just the screen.
here is something rediculous for you, HTC Service Centre charges you around 28 quid to format and restore original firmware its they have to do after repairing the handset.
Just spoke to the HTC repair centre this afternoon and I have to say I'm not happy.
Stupidly dropped the phone last Tuesday and smashed the screen. Called HTC that afternoon and they had it uplifted the following morning.
First thing friday I get a quote, £128 which I promptly (but grudgingly) authorised and then expected the phone back either today or tomorrow as they said it would take no more than 5 days.
However, having heard nothing I called them for an update and was told rather interestlingly that they'd been "overwhelmed by the number of returned Desires with smashed screens" and were now out of stock of the replacement parts!
What's more (yes, it gets worse) their expected arrival is now been held up by (you've guessed it) the current problems being caused by the volcanic ash and it could be another week before I'll get the phone back!

[Q] Glass Issues

I have had my Note 2 for almost 3 weeks now. A couple of days ago I was putting on the new screen and back protectors I got. You need to take the battery cover over to install..
So after finishing up, I snap the battery cover on and WTF?? The screen is cracked in the upper right corner!!?? Has anyone else run into this?
We took it to US Cellular and they say its not a manufacturer defect and will cost $100 to have it fixed.
This is BS!! I did not drop it, squeeze it hard or anything. I would be the first to admit if I had done anything wrong!
I have not contacted Samsung yet, I am trying to get more info if any others have had this problem...
Wow, you joined in 2009 and this is your first post!
On topic. Sorry that has happened to you. I can relate to the feeling of something deffective just few days after you've purchased it. I have never seen that happening to any of my devices or those devices of my friends' and relatives'...
Really weird. But one fear I have is to have the phone in my pocket and bending down to do something tightening the fabric on the pants around the upper leg area enough to bend the screen and shatter it...

Seriously... only a hundred dollars to repair?... can you please tell me where/who is doing that?. I dropped my phone and had a much more catastrophic screen shatter, everywhere I looked, it was going to be in the 270/300 dollar region for a repair - 100$ would be a really good price for repair.

do you have a picture of the damaged glass?
why take the extra step to take off the battery cover to install screen protector? used to have el-cheapo back covers, and currently using capdase bodifender and there was no need to take out the battery cover. plus the itsy bitsy plastic cover and its tips should not do damage on the glass screen unless it's defective to begin with since you said you didn't squeeze it hard when putting the covers back on.

I have insurance on the phone through US Cellular...thats what they quoted me.
But still its the principle, I feel its a manufacturer defect or it was stressed to begin with since the glass was installed..

You have to take the battery out since you need to use a bit of soapy water...they were cheap! $4 each on amazon with free shipping! :good
No pictures yet..:and no I didn't squeeze it when putting covers on..I did my GF phone the same way and no problems with hers. Definately a manufacturer defect. I will go in there Saturday when its very busy and raise a stink!!
Mine dropped from two feet and hairline cracked across the whole screen. I bought the full assembly LCD/digitizer. Did the repair per LE55ONS. AOK now. afterwards, I tried to pry apart the digitizer glass. In my Note II it is bonded with transparent gum covering the entire LCD. No way to replace only the digitizer on my version of the Note II
Why suddenly sooooooo....many thread about glass break in just differrent few minute of post?? Lol :banghead:

Screen replacement

Hello ,
Yesterday I managed to drop my Note 2 and crack the front glass of the handset. The screen itself is totally un-damaged.
After looking around on the internet it became quickly apparent that 3rd party repair centre's don't really want to touch the handset. I have called Samsung and they have sent me out a jiffy bag to send the handset back to them to get repaired. Obviously this will not come under manufacturers warrenty and I will be charged for the replacement. Does anyone know how much the front glass (not the screen) cost to replace? I saw someone mentioned around $180 however I live in the UK. Any guide lines on how much I will have to pay to get them to replace the broken glass would be great so I dont get a nasty surprise.
Thanks,
J

Note 7 Screen Replacement After Cracking - My Experience

Hello, so I thought it might be helpful to share my experience. I got my Note 7 on launch day (August 19th) from a retail Bell Store here in Canada. The salesperson offered to sell me as case as well but I thought it was ugly and didn't want to cover up this beautiful device. I also turned down purchasing extra insurance as I have never broken a phone before and I've had a lot of them.
Anyway it wasn't even 24 hours later I was working and the phone slipped from my hand...max 4 inches from the ground... But on to concrete. It unfortunately also hit on the edge and shattered the top left corner of the display. I was surprised at the damage this being Gorilla Glass 5 and all.
The display still worked just small part of glass missing and cracks. I knew this would drive me nuts and not something I could live with so I called Samsung to see if I could pay to have it fixed. They suggested I either send it to a repair shop or take to a local authorized one in person. There was a place about 3 hour drive away so I went this route. The place couldn't do it right away, they had to order a replacement display because they had none in stock. I went to Atlantic Cellphone Repair in Moncton, New Brunswick. Less then one week later it was in and I dropped off my phone. It was the first Note 7 they had done. They were going to ship it to my home to save me the trip again because the guy who specializes in the newer Samsung phones was out for the day.
It cost me around $400 Canadian to have fixed. It's coming in the mail today. I should have taken a picture of before but I forgot. I've been assured by Samsung it will still maintain the waterproofing. I don't plan on ever completely submerging it anyway but this is still important to me.
Ill update later today with how the repair turned out, after I get it home and try it out. I'm now going to be using a case even though I hate to. This phone needs it it seems.
Update: Got it today and highly impressed. They seem to have also replaced the metal band part as it had chips before but looks pristine and had another Qualcomm sticker on it where I had taken the other off. So while it's expensive it did turn out good.

May I know how the heck did you crack the screen. my phone is on the way...
the 3 months warranty for the screen on consist of if there is a dead pixel, screen burn, or color fault. Doesn't include crack due to drop or bend.

The phone is very slippery with a slim profile and of course the size. It slipped from my trackpant pocket while riding bike at 50 km/h(big one). I am surprised with only cracked glass, everything working fine. Every OP5 and Honor8pro user should used a cover or case with screen protector. The price of new screen is 6595 rs from honor service center and have to pay full amount upfront, only after that they will order new display that will take 5 to 6 business days and will repair it in 2 hrs. As per Honor service center executive.

So, a few days ago, I accidentally dropped my phone and broke the rear camera lens. It cracked the glass and its not covered under warranty. I wanna know how much it will cost to replace the lens. The screen is fine cause I had a screen protector on but the lens is completely gone. Thanks. I know the thread is old but I didn't feel like opening a new one.

The problem is that I don't have a credit or debit card and legally can't get one for another year or two. I'm 16. I usually opt for cash on delivery so that really isnt an option for me. If it had cash in delivery available, I would have bought it. I'm also pretty sure that I'll do more damage than repair. Thanks, anyway.

Also cracked glass on right upper corner just by dropping from half a foor on ceramic tiles.
I would say it is bad build quality as this my 7th phone.
Earlier dropped droid turbo from 5 feet and it slided till door of the office from middle but not a single dent or scratch on it.
Lumia 920 dropped several times from 2 feet height but only minor dent on it.
Honor first time and gone.
