Is there a way to get the older lockscreen back onto a Sense 3 ROM?
Or even, are there any optimised Sense 2 ROMs? It seems all ROMs in the dev section use Sense 3 (and I'm not a fan)..

Ill see if I can pull the lockscreen apk out of an old rom for you later. But its as easy as pulling the htclockscreen.apk out of an old rom
Until he answer you i have a bit different solution, by using WidgetLocker, here is a market link to it : Widget Locker, it's tested and i can say, best and most customizable lockscreen out there. Good luck.
Story short , i updated my wife's wfs to 2.3.5, and the unlock screen as well as answering screen is a bit choppy (using official rom , s-on, hboot 0.90000 - noob) and i was wondering how can i get the 2.3.3 lock screen (no apps from market, stock one) or how to downgrade from 2.3.5 if that is even possible ? pls help
I have build a stock 2.3.5 Europe version with the older style slide unlock.I didn't like the unlock rings myself and i couldn't install any RUU files after unlocking the boot-loader so i built it to try.Works very good here, i use CWM to flash the zip in recovery. If you would like to try it here is the un-direct link as i cant post a direct link as i am a new member.

I also didn't like it much and tried an experiment. It doesn't get the sense lock screen but removes those ring lock and gets the basic lock screen of android. Thats much better than the ring lock.
To do this you must be a root user.
1. Open a file browser in your mobile(I prefer root explorer but any other file browser would do which allows to access root.)
2. Go to location root/system/app
3. If you are using root explorer, you'd find on the top, a button r/w. Pressing this button gives you the read and write accesses of the root files.
4. Just move htclockscreen.apk and htclockscreen.odex to any other location(preferably sd card)
5. Restart your phone.
6. You'd get the basic style android lockscreen.
7. This method is irreversible. So if you want to get the previous screen back and doubt that you might not like it, you better do a ROM backup before doing any of this.
Advantages :-
Phone responds faster while unlocking screen.
Very simple interface
Pretty much attractive too
Disdvantages :-
You can not get the screen lock back if you have done this once.
To get the ring lock back you'd either need to reflash your backup or would hav to use widgetlocker app.
Biggest Disadvantage :-
If you receive a call while your phone is locked, the light won't turn on, you'd fist have to unlock the phone to see the caller and then only you'd be able to receive or reject the call.
I have experimented this method on my WFS. It worked. But I didn't like the unlocking while receving the call, hence I reflashed my backup.... All the best....
rockdev - please tell me are there any problems with the sense 2.0 lockscreen on the 2.3.5 update, beacause i'm interested in installing your rom, do you still have notifications on your screen even with this lockscreen ? my w's device is s-on with hboot 0.9000 but i am going to unlock it if this method is worth, or do you suggets otherwise. 10x in advance

No problems with mine at this stage the lockscreen works perfectly, it runs very well.I still have all the notifications and everything. It is stock standard expect the lockscreen and the power fix for longer battery life. my phone is s-on i have hboot 1.08.009 but i have the bootloader unlocked through htc.I flash it from CWM in recovery mode hope that helps.
cheers

I totally agree.... It's just a basic lockscreen but the problem is that to get this, you'd require to be rooted. S-On wouldn't be a problem.... You can still handle it but as already said, while attending the call, you'd require to unlock the phone first....
Enjoy....
ok, so let get this straight, the lock screen works flawlessly but when someone calls ,it won't unlock itself for me to pick up, (like in in sense 2.0, where you need to swype up and down in order to answer or reject), and i have to first unlock the screen (while phone is ringing) and second to swype, also i'd like to thank you for your quick responses.

Yes that's correct you need to swipe it sideways to unlock the phone then either except or decline the phone call. I prefer to do this as with the lock rings i was always missing calls or worse hanging them up.I can do another rom with the slide down unlock if that's preferred I actually built that type first it was dexoed zipalined... but I preferred the slide unlock better.
Let me know if you would prefer the slide down type of unlock as i can build another and upload it.I also have a stock 2.3.5 all original which i built first its has the lock rings.I just couldn't flash any RUU files no matter what i tried so that's why I extracted the image's from the RUU file and built my own.
cheers

Regarding the backup. You first need to extract the boot. img in that specific backup that you have. If you're using CWM. you can find it in clockworkmod folder > backup > the specified date of your backup creation unless you rename it to other name.
flash that boot img in fastboot just like you want to flash a new rom and go to restore backup and select the respective backup.

I did unroot my phone today and instilled stock ICS 4.0 on it. Still no GPS fix (using GPS test app). Its driving me nuts. Unroot and flashing RUU worked fine. Checked RUU version via fastboot before, so shouldn't be issue there..
I am still on warranty, but it will take up to a MONTH to fix it with no replacement phone. I don't want to open the phone myself too.
Is there any way I can do something from SW standpoint?

if even on stock you can't have gps lock then it is most probably hw problem. I will have to advice you to get it fix as soon as u can since It might take a while as u said a month and it might be difficult though if u don't have a second device to be used.

you might want to check by pressing gently on the left side of your hox near the usb plug area with your fingers and see if you can get a gps lock or not because if I'm not mistaken the position is just on the opposite side of the wifi antenna

It worked! At least now i know that its definitely hw issue, but it has to be presset pretty hard i have to say.
How i could remove such issue myself? Phone is unibody and i don't want to open it due all the warranties thing..
Any suggestions? case probably wont work due low pressure....
You have to open the case yourself. It's a bit tight because all of the double sided tape is placed on the battery and on the top side of the phone so if you really want to just check what is the solution you can try searching for wifi hardware solution. There are videos on YouTube that shows how to fix that. I would assume it is the same for gps
edit : on the side note. Since it is definitely a hw issue. you might be able to get a replacement for it. just try and clarify with them and explain that you've tried pressing gently on the left side similar to checking HTC One X for any wifi hw issues. Because a lot of people who has wifi hw issues got a replacement after sending it back

I have my HOX OTA to JB last week, but after that, when I open the camera or play a video, it will show a white screen, but still i can press the power button and lock the screen.
and if I chose "Disable HW overlays" in Developer options-Advanced, this white screen issue will be solved。
what is the meaning of “Disable HW overlays”? Is there a way to fix this? Can I flash something to fix this?
If you did this Over The Air with a locked bootloader etc etc, I'd contact HTC. But if you've unlocked the bootloader I'd say it's just a bug in the ROM, and you still need to contact HTC firstly so they are made aware of it and secondly so they can either point towards a fix or whatever... but they may be unwilling to help if you've unlocked the bootloader :/

thx a lot!
I have unlocked the bootloader, and I contacted the HTC, they do unwilling to help...
if it is just a bug in the ROM, I have flash some other ROMs, and if the ROM is base on Offical Jelly Bean, like ARHD, this issue will be show, but if I flash some ROMs Like CM10, or Offical ICS, there will be no problem...

i think roms that dont use sense can´t access the camera chip so your problem may be in the chip. you may have to send it out for repair

i flashed official ICS 4.0.4, the camera had no problem, and white screen issue not only show when i open the camera, but also when playing a video.
when i open the camera, the white screen show, then press the power button to lock the screen (this will take more time than usual) and press again to unlock the screen, the white screen gone, and the camera could be use as normal. but when exit the camera, the white screen shows again...
so i don't think this problem is in the camera chip.

can you have a program installed that couses it?
have you tried hard reset to see if it solves that?
Hi,
My capacitive buttons stopped working after I dropped the phone.
So I installed Android_Revolution_HD-One_X_18.1 rom and now I need to enable virtual button such as like this
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-...XPG3U/s720/Screenshot_2011-12-24-18-14-47.png
I have found some threads at samsung and nexus forum but it didnt help to me.
How can I enable virtual buttons at my htc one x?
Thank you.
Have you tried adding
#NavBar
qemu.hw.mainkeys = 0
In the build prop? I don't know if it'll work but its worth a shot.

Install the ROM IceColdJelly 4.2.1 by LorD ClockaN. It comes with virtual buttons by default.
Sent from my One X
I have tried IceColdJelly 4.2.1 by LorD ClockaN but there wasnt network :s
I accidentally put boot.img file from Android_Revolution rom to enter the recovery maybe thats why there wasnt network after installing IceColdJelly..
I tried to edir build.prop which i did successfully but after than Android_Revolution sense rom didnt boot so I wipe everything and installed that rom again.
Eventually now Im using virtual button bar program:s
If there is an option or another zip to install to enable soft keys for Android_Revolution Rom I will be really glad for this.
Odp: Request: Enable Virtual Buttons
Sense roms doesn't support on screen button. I remember when I tried to enable it in my old sensation, but it didn't boot either. If you want on screen buttons, you need to have aosp rom

hey, guys. I'm new to android. I bought a HTC one M8 used (not totally, it's a phone of a HTC developer I think) yesterday. But it's firmware or android is weird. First I thought it's a clone but it's real. All HTC features are present. But another weird thing was when I updated a new build, a girl named Jennifer showed up like first time on my card & a bunch of contacts saved. In details I found out all of them are HTC developers. So, I think it's a real HTC one M8. It has a demo app which stay open when display sleeps, prevent it from sleeping. Also many settings are locked. Like power saving quick settings, Airplane mode. Also it's in full brightness & both quick setting + main setting is locked. I can see & trap it but don't work. Most of the settings are locked including developer options. It's white & tapping on/off doesn't work. The retailer shop keeper said flashing a new firmware will solve it. But their shop is really far away & I've no ideas on android firmware flashing. I know about Symbian flashing though but that's no use. Please somebody help me. I need a procedure for flashing & link of M8's firmware. My phone is Europe version. & also it'd be nice if you can tell me how can I see or edit my external memory card. Please help. Thanks in advance

You don't know how to take a screenshot? Hold power button and press home button at same time.
Good luck with getting it sorted! Can't you ask the previous owner for help or do you not know them?

You can factory reset from bootloader or from stock recovery.
To get to bootloader, press and hold power + volume up. Eventually the phone will shut off and the screen will go black. Let go of power and volume up. Press and hold volume down until the bootloader comes up.

first update its firmware via ota. then flash a custom recovery and a custom rom like skydragon. U r good to go. forget the stock because whenever u will return to stock rom. u will get the demo app again.
