I have frequent hangs with Swiftkey in Chrome on the Pixel C (stock unrooted) and I wonder if this is Pixel C related or Android related. And, of course, how to get rid of these hangs. I don't have those problems with a Galaxy S6E 5.x rooted.
Yes, I have occasional issues too using swiftkey with Dolphin browser. I just got the OTA last night and have not been able to fully test to see if it resolves the issue. My suspicion is that the issue is related to the Pixel C software and not swiftkey.

Anyone else using Skype and seeing this?
I have a unlocked, none carrier branded Samsung Galaxy Nexus running 4.1.1. Recently when returning to the Skype app home screen from either a message chat, voice or video call my screen started looking like the attachment. There is a ghosting affect going on but it doesn't happen all the time. I also have a few issues where the program just stops working and needs to be restarted and I’m forced to reenter my password. After the restart the app does run normally for a while until I try to chat or make a call. This issue did not happen when I first got the phone running 4.0.4 but has started only a few days ago. It did not start right away when I updated my phone to the 4.1.1 about a week ago. I haven’t installed any programs since this started either, only a few updates for maps, locations services, etc.
I know that this must be an issue with this phone and android build as I do not have this problem on any of my other Android devices running various versions of Android.
No I haven't tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app yet but will if the problem persists.
So I finally received my N7 from Asus after being held hostage by Asus for 2 months for what I thought was a simple RMA exchange. When I got it back it was on Kit Kat 4.4.4 got the OTA and installed it. When LP was installed I could not log into GPS no matter what I tried to to. I factory reset, flashed custom ROM, tried the "host file trick" when I flashed KK everything ran super smooth. Log into Google and basically have a Google experience with no BS. Flashed LP and problem persisted. Finally flashed KK again set up Google and was able to enjoy N7 and all it's Googleness glory. When I got OTA I installed them and I was partially able to use google services. I could install and update apps from the play store. However, apps would often fail when trying to install/update I was also not able to watch YouTube videos or use Chromecast. Dead trigger felt like I was playing it on a gs2 than N7. So I factory reset hoping to fix this problem believing possibly KK junk the reason. With some hesitation I factory reset and now at set up I can not login into Google.
It should be noted WiFi does in fact work, I can browse what ever I want on Chrome and can download straight from chrome browser. I imagine apps like Pandora could play, and I could watch YouTube videos on the chrome browser.
What gives I know N7 is far from cutting edge but its capable enough and with no carrier bloat and the fact it has official LP 5.0.2 it should perform like a champ. I hate to say it my backup GS2 runs better on LP with far less bugs. Anyone having same issues and better yet have a solution?
Could this be hardware? If so why does KK work flawless? Before I sent it in I had LP and had no issues what so ever setting everything up. Then I get it back and lollipop is trash.
All in all I am extremely disappointed in Asus without going into it let's just say their warranty program is Anything but world class.
Is anyone else having this issue? On my home wifi I can barely get anything to load as fast as it should and apps don't download quickly at all. I noticed it when I clean flashed Oreo and was downloading all my apps and it dragged, 2.4ghz was a bit better but I'd much rather use 5ghz.
I've checked my other devices (MacBook, Nintendo switch, and even my 6P) and they all perform just fine, it's only my pixel XL that's having the issue.

It's well known especially on Oreo, (for some reason) the fix as mentioned by several people, is to turn on bluetooth.

I leave Bluetooth on 24/7 already and it still occurs.

Hi folks,
I just got my brand new Pixel 2 XL and have two issues and wanted to know if they were fixed in the official 8.1 OTA (not beta). I have touch issues on the screen at the margins of the screen in the left corner. I am also plagued by some Wifi connectivity issues where no data is flowing even though the reception is great. I am on 8.1 with January security patch. I am just not sure if those problems were already addressed in past updates or if they will be fixed in future updates. Need this information for potential RMA.
Thanks,
Marco

Hmm. That's worrisome then. I still have them. Thanks.

I'm also having some wifi issues if I'm using whatsapp.web and my phone is connected to my wifi and then locks itself, I sometimes get "phone is not connected to wifi" or sometimes I have to open my phone to get messages from other apps, like snapchat, kik, whatsapp.
Very strange.
Hello, I noticed sometime in December I believe that my Pixel XL (which i received as a replacement for a faulty nexus 6P) was fairly constantly random 'crashing' to the lock screen (behaving as if a soft reset was done). I'm currently on the January update but the problem has continued. I've done a factory reset of the phone, and this has also not corrected the issue.
I've played around with root and roms through many phones in the past, but I have not yet found a reason to with the Pixel XL, and as such it is currently stock. I've received about the expected level of 'help' from the google store, and am not sure how to proceed with troubleshooting what is even causing the crashes, what log files i need to look for where, etc.
Does anyone have any advice on what I should be looking at next, or experience with similar issues?
I came here to see if anyone else was having this issue. Happens about 4-5 times a day for me, and there are 2 very specific things I noticed: 1) it only happens when I'm on WiFi, and 2) the screen brightness goes up to 100% for about 5 seconds right before it does the "soft reset". I don't connect to my work WiFi and it has never happened while I'm at work. I get home and connect to WiFi and it happens within 20-30 minutes. Does this sound familiar to you?
Stock Pixel XL here and this sounds exactly like what's happening to me. It also soft-reboots to the lock screen when I wake it up after it's been idle for a while. I sometimes get the "Google App Has Crashed" screen. Tried factory reset and the problem continues. They broke something in the December update.
Either one of you folks use Adguard or any app that has a private DNS setting? If so, uninstall and see if that does it...
Or, just try turning off Private DNS in Network / Advaned settings.

I don't use Adguard app but I do have private DNS set to dns.adguard.com. I just turned it off, will give it some time and report back. The fact that you even mentioned this has me hopeful.
UPDATE: no reboots in 13 hours, which is a record. I think that did it. I guess I wasn't using the right combination of search terms when researching this issue over the past several weeks, because apparently it's a known issue that will be resolved in the next update.
