oke so i fell in love with the G3, but not the d855 version (specs) i live outside the us. my first was the d850 version (att) after unlocking it all seemed fine at first. but i noticed that on 50% battery life the phone starting to reboot when receiving calls sometimes even shutdown. i had to plug it in a usb to get it to start up again. decided to sell it and moved to my next G3. this time it was the d851 version (tmobile) after unlocking the same issue started. now i'm up to my 3th g3 (d851). this one is even worse. it will reboot form time to time for no reason. i use standard apps (whatsapp,skype,intsa....) does anybody else have this same problem?
same problem with 3 d851 now, also did the battery mod, still not fixed, need help!!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated, this issue is quite obnoxious.
My Verizon LG G3 was running 5.0.1 lollipop just fine until last wednesday.
I was sitting reading a phandroid article at my desk, when a message popped up saying sim card not recognized. I tried restarting, removing battery, and finally removing sim. Sometimes after restarting it would get a greyed out 3g signal and allow phone calls but no data and say entering global mode. I got on the phone with verizon and by the time they answered after pulling sim and doing a couple restarts it had started working again. It worked for a few restarts and a battery pull, but then stopped working about an hour later. I went to verizon store got a new sim card, and it worked phone. I switched it off global because they told me that wastes battery (is this bull**** or true?) it worked for a couple of days, then died again. Then it started working again the next day or 2, and it automatically forced the 5.1.1 update while in my pocket. It worked for a few hours after that then lost sim again. The next day it worked again. Now I can't get it working again.
I should also mention this might just be coincidental, but everytime it stopped working was within 10 minutes of me swapping in a fresh battery. Both of my batteries are official LG batteries, and I charge them with the official
TL: DR
my phone keeps not recognizing my sim and is now running 5.1.1.
Any ideas for what my next step should be?
Should I replace sim a 2nd time?
Should I do a factory reset, is there any chance that would fix this? (I haven't done one since I got my phone and used the image from my first G3. So my phone has done 3 updates without a FDR. But i'd really also hate to lose my progress on some games unless I absolutely had to.
Should I have verizon send it to LG for repairs (takes like 2 weeks) (I think it's still in warranty since I got the phone 12/16/2014) But that was after returning my first G3 i got in september i'm not sure when they start their warranty period
Should I replace it through my asurion insurance?
Other ideas?
I bought LG G4 with my previous carrier T-Mobile. I never had an issue. I love the phone; however, recently I change carrier to AT&T and the overheat issues and battery drained with my wifi started. T-Mobile doesn't want to deal with my phone. AT&T is "no comprendo" or basically this phone is not ours. I contacted LG and after several tries and procedures testing they asked my to reset to factory default which I did. Now my LG G4 still overheating when I use wifi and the battery drained.
Any suggestion other than to buy another phone? I would greatly appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Bernard
So I was just using my phone when all of a sudden it turned off... It had about 70% battery life left. I tried to turn it back on with no avail... Pulled the battery and put it back in after a few seconds and was still unable to get it to turn on. So I have my spare battery that a popped in there and it still wont turn on. Eventually I got it to turn on for a few minutes where it just boot-looped then turned off again. I have now tried plugging it in and swapping batteries and such and I can't even get it to turn on. If I plug it in without a battery all I see if a picture of a battery with a "?" in it but it will not power up. I think my phone is toast and I have no idea what is wrong with it. Anyone else had this happen to them?

Seems to be a problem with the batch of phones manufactured in May 2015. Mine crapped out today, pretty much exactly the way you described, and T-Mobile is overnighting a replacement.
T-Mobile will send you a "refurbished" unit and issue the replacement using insurance. The warranty information is available from the LG Support page. The Warranty statement begins on page 124 of the English version of the manual. The replacement that was sent to me was not well kept and had signs of being mistreated previously. I called T-Mobile and informed them that I was sending back their replacement. I called LG and my phone is currently being repaired after being received this morning.
From the warranty section of the G4's manual:
5. HOW TO GET WARRANTY SERVICE:
To obtain warranty service, please call or fax to the following telephone numbers from
anywhere in the continental United States:
Tel. 1-800-793-8896 or Fax. 1-800-448-4026
LG G4 is a very vulnerable phone and LG’s Head of US Marketing has accepted that the LG g 4s manufactured before September 2015 had its own set of problems. I am leaving this link here https://appuals.com/fix-lg-g4-wont-turn/ for anyone who wants to solve the issues with LG G4 mobiles instead of being frustrated or feeling at loss. Hope this guide help you guys out.
Needed a phone to fill the app-gap coming from Windows(don't judge) until contract expires, and bought a H791 5X on ebay last October. (more on that). Works very well for about 8 month, then it started bootlooping. Searched XDA and found thread by xcnathan32, managed to revive it. Yesterday it was updating apps(not OTA security patch), dropped dark, and won't turn on at all. Held power+vol down until fingers turned blue, and maybe 1 in 20 chance it will light up, warns that bootloader is unlocked, then stop responding and drop dark again. Twice I got it to get to recovery screen, but it froze on one occasion, and on the other occasion shows a weird orange line towards bottom of screen, and I wasn't able to flash anything before it froze again.
As I'm fairly certain this is a hardware issue, I tried chatting LG support. Gave them IMEI, and they say this is a international phone, so LG USA won't support it. chatted with Google, really nice service, but when I gave them IMEI they couldn't bring up any warranty option since they don't have my IMEI in inventory...suggested calling LG support. Just called them, and they checked IMEI and said the same thing from chat(they even greeted me by name without me saying a word), but they did tell me my IMEI belongs in JAMAICA. YeahMan. Or...NoMan?
So I'm running out of options - what should I try next? give up? Go the Chinese route for repair?(and 4GB upgrade?) new ones are on ebay for ~230 so repair in US doesn't make much $ sense...
TL;DR: got international 5x, bootlooped, no repair from LG/Google, what do?
