Then maybe moisten the cloth a bit. Let it soak a little then wipe again..
Just don't get any moisture in the phone.
If that doesn't work maybe a mild detergent. No alcohols though.
How to use the detergent?
can u be more brief?

see it looks so dirty got this few days back only
Some mild soap eg, or maybe some LCD cleaning fluid. I shouldn't use dish washing soap, that's actually pretty strong stuff.
I would still recommend trying water to start with. Might be mostly sweat it something like that.
This is a pretty serious issue that needs fixing NOW! I don't know if I'm gonna be able to sleep tonight if the oily fingerprints on the back of my phone aren't fixed immediately. C'mon guise halp.

When I clean the front of my phone I spray a small amount of window cleaner on a paper towel and clear the screen. After that I use the same paper towel, still slightly damp with the window cleaner to clean the back is well. It works great.
That is pretty bad....you can aways sell it to me for cheap....I would do that for you... Problem fixed!

Hey guys. About 5 minutes ago I scratched up my Droid incredible screen with my Longboard griptape cause my mom called as I was loading my board in the car. I'm extremely pissed off as I've been working so hard to keep this phone in new condition and that tomorrow I was getting a case and a screen protector for Xmas. Is there any way to get these scratches out that people have tried to make my phone look new again? I'm sick over it.

If they are very shallow scratches maybe try a little bit of alcohol on a microfiber cloth but if they are deep I see no possible way to restore them. I've never seen this question asked before though so I really don't know and you may want to confirm with someone else about using alcohol on the screen. Alcohol + Microfiber polishes out CD's though so I figure if they are shallow enough it just might work.
best of luck to you man.

Maybe a screen protector and hope it looks decent? Mine usually cover up a few scratched

What about that stuff that you see on TV for clearcoat scratches on cars? Again, if they're shallow enough....
You could buy a new screen online and replace it, then put a protector on it.
Hi!
I'm an owner of the HTC One X and I'm also a clean freak!
I noticed that the back marks really easily and the only way of cleaning it I have found so far is to use window cleaner, but I'm worried it will damage the material. Does anybody have any ideas?
Also, dust and dirt get into the gaps between the screen and the bezel, as well as inside the front facing camera. Once again, any ideas?
I'd be happy to hear any suggestions or any other troubles people have had cleaning it.
Thank you!

I used some post-it notes and carefully cleaned out the dust. If anything gets stick in the speaker holes then you can use the sticky part of a post-it to remove it.
Don't go nuts though and really jam in the paper as you might get it stuck then tear it or you may push dust further into the phone.
There is a paper tape. It is very good suction dust >>> People still use it to suck the dust particles remaining on the screen before applying the protective sheet.
I think the measures are very good so you can remove dust in crevices on your device.
Thanks, it works!
The problem is I used a pin before and I think I've pushed a lot in too far.
I guess I messed up.
What colour phone do you have?

I have been using "Pledge clean and dust multi-surface Original" for a couple of years to clean my notebook including the screen and and other electronics including my mobile phones it works great, also it cheap to buy, just make sure you spay a small amount onto a cloth and not on the item to be cleaned.
It says it for metal, electronic, glass and wood on the can.

You could test it by spraying some on an old junk CD/DVD that you don't want. The One X case is polycarbonate and so are CDs/DVDs. The exact recipe of polycarbonate isn't going to be the same but if the cleaner damages the CD/DVD then it isn't going to be a good idea to try it on the One X.
for daily cleaning the DHD official case with microfiber internals is doing wonders
sadly a little bit of the phone remains out of it like 5-10%
I got the white one x and typically use just water and microfiber cloth. If water doesn't do the trick I use eye glass solution. Seems to work fine.

I have the white HTC One X, and I work building and fitting sheds and gates ( so a lot of dirt ). I picked up my phone after a days work and the back just got covered in dirt finger prints/smudges, and i know this sounds ridiculous, but the next day they were all gone and the phone was as clean as new... Thanks HTC for the self cleaning phone

The only time I have noticed it got dirty was the first time taking it into work, once it 'self cleaned' it has never had dirt smudges on it since ( not from memory anyway), strange I know, I'm not mad...
OP, Google a product called Cyber Clean. It's similar to silly puddy. You smear it on your phone. Once you remove the goo, it picks up most of the hard to reach dust particles. You can get it at most computer stores.

I was using some liquid eyeglass cleaner on my screen and some must have leaked in to the display. A dark grey blob started from the left of the display and gradually began moving toward the center, shrinking as it made its way across the screen. It ended up disappearing overnight and there's no sign that it was ever there. Moral of the story? 1) Be careful with liquid cleaners and 2) the display's not entirely or well sealed.
Regardless of how much I clean the screen I always seem to end up with a few specks of dust underneath. Any tips?
Here is what you do. Have humidity in the air to keep the dust at bay. So go into the bathroom and turn the shower on where it's hot and steamy. Let the room get humid, but not where you can't see what your doing. I usually use a alcohol wipe first to remove oils. Then polish with a microfiber cloth and apply the protector. Works every time for me.

Depends.. I have improvised a makeshift clean room before.. if you clean the bathroom thoroughly and close the door and allow the shower to run on HOT to steam up the room... once the steam settles the dust should settle with it..
this is kinda extreme.. but have done this in the past when working on a hard drive and had to take the top off of the unit to free a stuck head..
That is overkill for this.. Just find an area with little or no airflow.. clean the area thoroughly.. and set everything there that you need and try to not stir up dust by moving around too much.... clean the device.. and apply the film....
Lol we were typing almost the same reply at the same time.

Yeah.. and I get a 5 minute delay before I could post it.. Still a noob here.
Steam room is a great idea. Thanks.
Steam room is the best bet, but if you can't do that, I always have a micro-fiber cleaning cloth on hand and some canned air duster. I wipe the screen down real good, give it a few blasts of air, double check for anything and go from there.

try that, nothing as complicated as a steamy room, but with easily great results
I always had issues to like the OP. I found that using my downstairs bathroom which is hardly used helped a lot. All I did was wash my hands throughly without drying them. Then polished my screen with a microfiber cloth before putting on my DRY screen protector. It went on flawlessly and I have perfect optics. Couldn't be happier.

I usually go to the kitchen and just turn the fan on, works like a charm for me.
Hey guys!
I'm wondering if there is a safe cleaning material to clean the white HOX, I mean the back side to return it to original pure white...maybe windex..Jeff..clorex..etc
Ok, I provides my method but I never recommeding you to do the same with me..
This is how I cleaned it: rinse my hands with water, pour out a bit, hold my HOX, mop around with hands, wipe it off. (while water is most effective medium to clean thing, please make sure the quantity of the water will are not enough to spills in microUSB and ear jack holes)

I wouldn't use windex, if you must, then make sure its at least ammonia free. I'm not quite sure about the One X, but some phones have very thin layers of anti-glare/anti-fingerprint coatings applied on the screen, use of strong window cleaners can damage those layers.
I mostly use a wet micro fiber cloth and that does the job well, rarely even use soap. I suggest you start with just water and if it doesn't work, try with soap and finally move into special purpose cleaners if you must.
Rubbing alcohol will work. Wet a microfiber cloth and squeeze out excess fluid, then wipe down the device.
Fussy with your phones..........I wonder if you guys are just as fussy with your cars/houses???
I tried Windex ...it did the job thanks a lot guys
Haha my house is a tip. My phone is perfect!!

Somehow my younger nephew got hold of my phone and thought it would be funny to use a dirty rubber on the back of it. Luckily I caught him in the act just in time before he done more damage to it and now my phone has a medium sized patch thats quite dark and noticible. While its not a major problem its kinda spoilt the beautiful finish of the back of HOX. I tried using a damp cloth and scrubbing real hard to get rid of it but it didnt make the slightest difference. Is there any way I can get rid of it and bring it back to the normal look or am I stuck with this? Attached a photo to give you a better idea of what it looks like, it actually doesnt look that bad in the picture but trust me its alot worse.
Try a bit of CIF mate, I heard that works.
Be careful!
Try using a clean rubber ??

I have no idea what can you do at this situation d ... I'd probably use a damp cloth but since it didn't work .... >.< Buy a case for it if you don't want the patch to be seen or , this might be nuts but use paint thinner LOL
Why was he humping your phone?

What is dirty rubber? Was it something like one of those hard abrasive ink erasers? If it was one of those then most probably that area is worn off. Probably nothing much you can do except change the entire case, or you could try to rub the rest of the surface with the same thing to give it a uniform look . I did something similar with one of my old Siemens phones, it had a painted back which was fading away due to normal wear, so I took a very soft sandpaper and sanded away all the paint to give it a nice uniform matte black finish. It turned out pretty good considering how it looked before .

Lens cleaner is generally just very pure Isopropyl alcohol
Nevermind guys i just decided to buy a case and use that lol.
Try hair spray. It's the best solvent...
Just a bit on a rag and wipe the back before it's getting dry.
