Anyone have any method or idea how I would get the built in mouse to work? I guess I misread what I did read about it working, just checked again and was labeled as keyboard only. Still a cool little device to have but was hoping for the mouse function to work too :silly:
It paired perfectly though, that was pretty nifty.

Hi Spykes,
could you tell me if you paired it via BT or do you use the usb-adapter pluged in the AFTV? I'm looking for a way to pair it w/o it (I lost my usb-adapter )
Thanks for letting me know.
Frank
I couldn't get it to pair without the little dongle.
You can pick them up on ebay though

I can't seem to get the Dual shock 3 (PS3 controller) to work wired with my device. It works without problems on my brother's Nexus 5. Wirelessly using the sixaxis controller app it works without problems, but through an OTG cable it doesn't. Is the device not supported? Is there any known way to add support to a ROM?
Cheers
Why not using the gamepad with Bluetooth...if it works use it with that instead of breaking your head because wired it doesn't work

The only reason I can think of is the idea it would use less battery but I don't see that being true.
Because I want to use it with gamestream and since Bluetooth and WiFi uses the same antenna it interferes and gives me lag.

Normally both shouldn't be a problem together....do you tried if your pad is connected to start the service in sixaxis app? It worked always for me doesn't matter if I used my old one x or the m8

I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you're suggesting. Are you saying I should connect it using USB while connected through Bluetooth?

No you can use the app without Bluetooth ... You can use it even if you connected the ps3 controller wired ...Normally it should work ... Also if it's connected wired look in keyboard settings if the pad is mentioned there.
And in sixaxis app you also need to enable the option that the pad like the native gamepad

Are you sure? The Sixaxis controller app is made to be used with bluetooth. Normally Android devices supports ps3 controllers wired natively. I'm still having troubles understanding your suggestion.
I start the app and connect USB, no luck.

If you go into the settings inside the sixaxis app you can enable that the pad will be saw by system as native gamepad...try that also ...if not it could be that your otg cable doesn't work good with the gamepad...mine works really fine without problems ...only some games aren't able to be played with this controller
That's strange because M8 supports X360 controller natively

That option only makes it look like a gamepad to the system when it's connected through bluetooth. Does it work for you? What ROM and kernel are you using?

Using renovate 4.0.1 so latest Rom and stock kernel as flar's kernel is not updated yet ... It always worked for me on every Rom or kernel and also on hox it always worked... Hm
Edit: like I said it could be the OTG cable too...often it doesn't work with some...try to get another one
I just flashed flar's kernel. The controller now works. I haven't ran into any problems either even though it isn't updated.

Yea if could be that on stock kernel some OTG features aren't working like on custom kernels were many things are added or tweaked..but orbits working now then good
The dualshock 4 controller works natively on the m8 wired.
You can use it scroll through the screens and select apps. Not all games work, minecraft being one, but a lot do.
The buttons can be a bit odd though. For example in goat simulator, the options button is headbutt. Quite frustrating.
Does anybody know if there is there anyway of remapping the buttons?

Is it possible to run a program like droidmote without root, to control the sideloaded apps with touch features?
Also trying to get a bluetooth Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000 to connect. Installed Settings.apk. Can detect it, but can't pair it.
Not without root.
I bought one of those Nyko tablet game pads for mine, the Stick natively supports the Nyko game pad, and it has a mouse mode.

Picked two is them up in store for 12.97 each. They don't have them up front, they keep them in the back so you have to ask for them.
yes

I use Yatse to control XBMC with no issues on my s3 Samsung, Remote IME seems to work for everything else.
I am unsure of the mouse, I can use my Logitech keyboard for full control and browser work though. hope this helps

Not true anymore. Try this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wukongtv.wkremote.client.en
Has some translation issues (seems to be a Chinese app). Install on your phone and when you open it and connect it will automatically install the client on your ftv (or at least it did on my rooted box with play store access). Seems to have both navigation controls and mouse mode. Worked well for me in my ftv (have not tried on ftv sticks yet, mine won't be here until Tuesday).

I'm pretty weary of Chinese apps.
How are you using remote ime? This is only thing i could find in under that name. http://www.mygica.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9&p=9
Tried scanning and manually entering ip and nothing.
Don't know about the Chinese app, doesn't look like it has a touchpad feature for using it as a pointer for touch controls that fire stick remote can't do. Joystick an option even though the stick isn't a game machine. Wantd to use something i already have if possible.
I haven't had any luck connecting anything Bluetooth. Monoprice Bluetooth headphones and sound brick show as detected but never play audio. Mouse detects but doesn't pair.
That Nyko gamepad works perfectly (as a gamepad and as a mouse), and if you go to the game controllers part of Settings you'll see Amazon mentions Nyko specifically, that controller is fully supported from the factory on the Fire Stick.

The Chinese app definitely can function as a mouse. Press the square in the upper right corner and select mouse module.

Keep in mind I'm talking about the stick, there is no root for it yet. At least not a software root. If I had root, could install droidmote.

I get my fire TV sticks tonight so I will be testing it out. On my fire TV I didn't have to do anything but open the app on my phone and it displayed the ip of my ftv. When I selected it it installed the server automatically on the ftv.

Has anyone been able to get mouse clicks to work with WKremote, the chinese app, on the Fire TV Stick? I have no problem getting a mouse pointer and I'm able to move it around, but not able to click on anything. I've tried placing the pointer on the object i want to click on, then switching to gesture mode but that doesn't seem to work either.
I'm trying to use it on the Time Warner app and I need to be able to click different options. I also tried to click on something in XBMC with no luck.
Any suggestions?

Works fine for me. Just tap the screen while in mouse mode. I think the fire can be somewhat finicky on what you can click on when in the amazon interface

Thanks. I figured thats how it should be working, but it wasn't for me. I'll try reinstalling it again to see if that does anything.
Is there an app for iOS folks. Dont see Wukong ?
Issues connecting to FireTV Stick
Anyone else having problems connecting to the FireTV Stick. When I open up the app it will search and see the FireTV and shows the correct IP, when I click it to connect it shows fail to initialize and brings me to some help section ( that clearly I do not understand)
Any info would be nice, perhaps there is an issue with the router I am using, uPnP is disabled or something? I just received my new router recently belkin ac1200 and I am not sure if that is the cause.
The Wukon app works for me on the FireTV Stick, but it's super slow. Mouse is jumpy, and inputs are sometimes delayed by 2-3 seconds.
I didn't install anything on the stick to support it, it just worked.
I am interested in how it works more if anyone has any English resources. Pretty cool how it puts up a notification on the FireTV Stick.
Hi !
Is there a way to plug a AC powered USB hub to Fire Stick microUSB? to add more USB devices?

If that were possible I'm almost certain I would've heard of it by now.
Let's say it were possible, you'd still need root privs to mount the drive.

I have 2 aftvs and a stick. But the stick is in my kids room and i dont do much with it. Bluetooth support was added for the console like 2 updates ago. Id try pairing whatever u want and see if it works.
Maybe look on aftvnews.com. if theres anything noteworthy im sure they reported it.

Doesn't the Fire TV Stick lack a USB port? That's the main reason I went for the box instead of the stick version.
