My phone is stuck in bootloop after installing system update. The phone is not rooted.
Are there any ways to get/transfer/backup & restore data (sms, photos, apps data) from internal memory before I attempt to fix the phone?
Thanks.
What's your phone ?

If you are able to access fastboot, unlock your bootloader from here then flahs TWRP from here, and go to recovery, connect to PC... now you have MTP enabled on your PC... So, now you can copy all your data into your PC...
sorry for late reply as I was quite busy and I'm using another phone temporarily

Hello.. I accidentally erased all data in both internal and external card. I can boot recovery mode. Is there a way to trasfer files from pc to the phone on recovery mode in order to trasnfer a rom to flash? When o connect it apperas adb interface, something like that but i cannot see the phone.
Wouldn't it be easier to just take memory card out and use a card reader to put a rom straight onto the memory card. Think that should work

If your using cwm. Make a folder on your sd card like this
Clockworkmod/backup/ then copy and paste your file in there.. reboot to recovery and choose restore from external. You may need to do a full wipe if its an older backup.

Read through that. It's basically an interface for you to plug your phone via USB to your computer and pass commands to it (and read info). By running ADB logcat, you can then see what's going on in your phone, in real time.
Doing so, you should be able to find out (or at least paste here) what errors are occurring.
It's a sensible first step, before resorting to wiping or imaging.

I installed a rom by using odin and everything works ok. I will read about adb, it might come in useful sometime.. Thank you.
Hey guys!
I was at a concert last night and took some photos/videos with my ZL. But when I tried to transfer them to my computer, I got some problems. All I did was:
> Connected my ZL to PC via usb in MTP mode
> Created a new folder in my computer
> Opened the desired folder (in this case, Internal Strorage > DCIM > 100ANDRO)
> Then, I simply dragged the 100ANDRO folder to the new one I created
But after doing this, some trouble: the 100ANDRO disappeared from my phone internal storage and appeared EMPTY inside the folder I created before. Result: I've lost all the photos and videos.
I don't even know if I'm posting on the right area, but all I want is to recover the disappeared files. Tried to google a solution. I even found it, but for that I have to root my phone, and I don't want to do this 'cause it's in warranty period yet.
Questions: Can I have my photos/videos back without rooting my phone? If I really have to root it to have my photos/videos back, what I have to do? Do someone knows what happened? PLEASE HELP MEEEE :crying:
@EDIT
Okay, I realized that the only way is rooting my phone. Can anyone explain step-to-step or indicate a thread that a noob can understand?

I'm using 4.4, with 10.5.A.0.230.
you removed device without close usb conection.
It's normal lose data when do this way.
that things were on SD, i think you'll see nomore. Or, use another ZL and copy the original files.

I didn't remove the device before I realized the trouble I was in. By the way, I've done this process so many times before and never had a problem like this, always safely removing my device.
The photos and videos were on Internal Storage. If them were on the SD card, I think I could recover the files; but since I can't connect my ZL in USB Mass Storage mode, pc applications can't scan it to try to recover the files.
I found some ways to try to recover the files w/ an application named DiskDigger, for Android. But in order to use it, I have to root my device first. Anyone ever used this app? Does it really works? What's the best, safely or simply way to root my device for a noob like me? I'm using a C6503 running 4.4 on 10.5.A.0.230 with unlocked bootloader.
why can't connect in MSC?

According to some information I found over the internet, Google disabled Mass Storage mode in newer Android versions.

Yep. But the Internal Storage isn't available in Mass Storage mode, only the SD card. Since the photos I want to recover were on the internal storage, it don't works for me.
Can you indicate me the best/easier way to root my phone?

I tried to follow the instructions in the link you posted, but I have problems with the second step. It redirects me to this thread, but since I don't have recovery and can't flash the kernel that is disponibilized, I got an error that says that it cant write the boot 'cause remote command is not allowed or something like this. So, I can't flash the kernel with recovery and can't root. Some tips about this?
you must have a unlocked bootloader.
i think your is locked.
Dial *#*#7378423#*#* . Then go to -> "Service Info" -> "Configuration". If there is:
Bootloader unlock allowed - Yes << this means that your Bootloader is Locked
Bootloader Unlocked - Yes << this means that your bootloader is unlocked

Ok, so my device allows me to unlock my bootloader... I read in somewhere here in xda that having my bootloader unlocked cause the loss of the Bravia Engine 2. Is it really true? Or it's a risk that may occur?
I plugged in my OTG USB C flash drive and the Robin doesn't see it. Has anyone had success using one?
I'm having the same issue.
Sorry, we don't support USB OTG.
your not giving a memory card slot .. atleast a OTG could have been a good option..

But then you are not following the manufacturer's suggested use and cannot complain about how they set it up.
Also, from my understanding, it is a hardware limitation.

Reserve space for Titanium Backup on your internal storage lol
I have 2 TWRP backups, TiBU's backup and music on my internal storage without issue and I still have 12GB free.
That's what I was afraid of. I'm using a custom rom so nextbit cloud doesn't work

This. I just use the internal storage on device and then keep a "backup" of those files on a USB drive and computer for use later, if needed.
I am running a Custom ROM, never used the loud and have had no issues with anything.

Hi,
I wrongfully wipe my system partition. And I cannot reboot because in twrp it shows "No OS installed, are you sure to continue."
How can I install ROM to nextbit robin with my computer?
Please help me.
Try to flash the nextbit factory firmware here
HTML:
https://insider.razer.com/index.php?threads/robin-factory-images-and-usb-driver.21487/
HTML:
1. i assume you have to unlock bootloader, enable usb debugging and usb driver installed
2. adb minimal install on your pc
3. download the latest factory firmware
4. extract the zip file
5. boot your Robin into Fastboot mode
6. simple hit that flash-all.bat file and plug your nextbit to usb 2 port on your pc.
7. just wait the process
when finished all process your nexbit back to factory default firmware

There's no way you can connect the phone to pc with mass storage since lollipop or KitKat. I don't remember the exact version but Google changed the mass storage option with MTP transfer.

Data recovery isn't possible via MTP. If you haven't copied anything new on the storsge as of yet then you can try disk digger for android to recovery the data.

Hi guys,
I am stuck with a problem related to rooting the phone, I have an unlocked bootloader but I cannot find the Magisk or Superuser.zip on my Internal or external USB OTG after booting into TWRP Recovery. I have tried wiping even cache and doing a factory reset but it didn't help. Any suggestions on how to make the zip files show up on internal or USB OTG. (I do not have an external sd card).
Anyone?

Sorry but there is no developer support for this phone because Huawei 'allegedly' bribed them with Honor View 10 and Honor 10, I tried to root it multiple times and everytime got into bootloop, hence got rid of the phone.
As a generic method (nothing specific to your phone), I have used 'ADB Sideload' to flash zip files, when in similar situation. In TWRP, goto Advance -> adb sideload. Connect phone to computer and issue command ' adb sideload <path-to-zip-file>'

This method works for all EMUI phones.

Thnx for all your replies guys :good:
No use of rooting this phone anymore no new roms mods ... And if you root few system apps will be removed like health app game suite tv contrall
Idk what im doing wrong here but none of the method seems to work, i do not get the time often to go after these things so maybe ill try my luck for rooting again someday, rooting used to be so easy back in the day. Seems like the method has been a bit difficult now or my skills have become a bit rusty. Anyways thanks guys, i'll post in a few days again if i am able to root. Thanks for all your suggestions.
