Hello everyone, after i updated my E975 to 6.0.1 i found out that ui had no sensor response whatsoever, except for proximity and brightness, so i decided to investigate.
I did a comprehensive search of the forums since the old 4.4.2 times and found out this could be caused by a corruption / overwrite of some stock information, stored into persist, and sns partitions, which controls the sensors.
Everyone found a solution by reflashing stock KDZ, but i did not want to lose precious time by wiping and having to flash / root / restore my poor device.
Reading from my own partition table, the partitions are mapped at:
Code:
sns -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p16
persist -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p26
I wrote a modified version of this script (from @autoprime), and got a dump of @cabe2001 's partitions, which i then flashed on my device, only to find out that as i thought, it works! No more AxxionKat / Resurrection Remix / KDZ flashing to restore rotation!
I wrote a new recovery script, which flashes the uncorrupt partitions over the broken ones, just flash, reboot and voilà, sensors are working again!
In the attachments you'll also find the script to backup, if you want to keep a copy of your own ones before flashing!
It works flawlessly on E975, but i think it should work also on other GEE/GEEHRCs, just make sure to take a backup of your own ones before trying out!
Thanks again @cabe2001 for the working dump
I'm using CM12.1 from @Kevinjoa and my sensors works OK, here are my images.

Thanks! now trying!
EDIT: as supposed, it works just fine! Going to make a flashable zip for everyone having sensors issues!
Thanks a lot. Were on GEEHRC AOSP from DevSwift1, thought my proximity sencor was broke. Fixed that flashing your script.
Great job!
Thanks a lot
Congratulations for your job !
Nice work man, saving lives.

Well, technically no dev action was made, just some scripting and a dump of stock partitions. I would not say it deserves a sticky, it's just here for people who need it
Nice finding. Thanks for sharing.

I think your issue is not related at all with the one described here. Did you flash a compatible E975 modem before flashing any rom?

Hello to all, i'm making this thread to understand some things about my LG, firts i'm from Venezuela and i have and LG Optimus G E977 with Movistar (LG Optimus G E977=E975 with different modem for Latin America); i have already root the phone and unlock it with FreeGee app, thanks to this guys really for simplify our lives, so i want to install the CyanogenMod rom and i encounter with this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...4611&nocache=1 so when i click in the download link i see there is a stable version, so my question is what is the difference i know Nightlies is something like a beta but the last Nightlies post there is more efficient than the stable or what ?, another question is if i install that room i need to find the modem for Movistar here in Venezuela or it don't touch that section ?, the FreeGee app install the TWRP i choose the 2.5 but i don't know how to acces it in this phone i read and search and it is an app for booting in TWRP but there is no manual access ?, and my last question is when i have completely install CM 10.1 i must put this kernel i find to make the full change in my phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2312735 ?, forgive me if i asked many question, but i think is better to post all the doubts for disturb less, some information about my phone LG Optimus G E977 Movistar Venezuela, Android version 4.1.2 Stock, Kernel version 3.4.0, with root and bootloader unlock i check it by pressing volume up and power button, thanks in advance for all the answers guys, have a good day
P.D.: i have already change the room of my Asus Transformer Infinity TF700, so i have at least some experience in this
Wait a litle more and learn.no need to rush.you will find here all necessary infos, just search.make sure you know how to revert changes you made, before applying them.better safe than sorry.a litle advice,do not flash e975 software.in europe we mostly have 2600mhz lte band.if your carrier uses another band, you will lose 4g.all custom roms work on e977.i mean e 975 custom roms, not e973/e971.
One last thing,if you flash 4.2.x rom, mounting poits will be changed.this means the whole folder tree will be different and you won't be able to see your old files normally.you will find them in /data/media folder.for that you will need a root explorer and mount as r/w the very root of the device.

Thanks for the advice dude, i don't understand exactly what you mean with no need to rush , if it is something i did wrong i apologize, i want to put the same CM you have, you install the stable version or the Nightlies one ?, and how you get into the TWRP in this phone ?, thanks again kimitza for taking the time to answer me, really appreciate it
See,exactly this small things are the difference between succes and brick your phone.like i said, all infos are here.just look for them.there were so many cases of bricked phones because they rushed and not read all the way....don't be one of those.
It's quite easy to work with the g,but it has a litle trick.you mentioned something about freegee.please read all it's features.one of them is INSTALLING custom recovery.after that, all you need is an app from praystore™ to reboob into recovery, because you can't enter recovery mode on stock rom by using buttons combo.it will get only to service mode or hard reset menu.
I recommend cwm touch though, not twrp.
There,i gave you all the info you need.
Before starting, tell me the exact procedure of rooting, unlocking, flashing custom rom and, most important, how to get back to stock.if you do that,i will help all the way in the future with all i can.this is the only way for me to be sure.your call.
Ps. If i don't make much sense,it's because i slept only 3 hrs in last 2 days.so,sorry.

Take a break kimitza a long one, wow few hours is not a good idea unless job or other situations, and don't worry you make more sense that many other people, trying to avoid me a hardbrick things that must be appreciate, i always read all the information before make a change or flashing something so don't to worry about that, i will tell you what i've done and how to revert it, firts with the root, i use the fastloader and the ZV9-ZVB Universal root with CurrentRoot bat file, to revert it i must go to the app SuperSU and make the clean uninstall and install the stock version from LG to ensure a good revert process, to unlock the phone i use the FreeGee app it tell's me about my stock special unlock and that it would touch some sbl files it's okay because i've never make a change in those files with this LG so i proceed to unlock it and success additional it install me the 2.5.0 TWRP and for revert it, it tell me i can do it with the same app, for flashing a custom room thing i want to do for better performance is download the file i will put the stable version of the CM 10.1, placing into the phone, use the app to boot in recovery mode, make a factory reset with the TWRP and flash it, then it comes one question i don't know i must put this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2312735 for a better performance or not ?, what you recommend me ?, to revert it i must use the LG Software with the LG Drivers, already installed bot, and install the stock version, i will not make any backup because i don't want to backup anything my contacts and other prior stuff is already backup, want to make a clean flash, so kimitza if you have some tip or some suggestion or even a correction please tell me i will proceed when you answer me, if i have any problem with the modem signal i will contact you, i don't think it will touch it but we never know, thanks again for your time my friend and don't forget to please answer my question about the kernel i know it must be installed after installing the CM 10.1 rom, waiting your answer
P.D.: by the way sorry if my english is not perfect or clean, you know not my natal lenguage but i make it good at least hahaha
After you unlock and install custom recovery, install any app from market which reboobs into recovery mode.i personally use rom toolbox pro,but there are apps only for that.the best it seems to bee quickboot.
After this, you can flash any compatible rom or kernel in cwm.now i'm using thinking bridge s4 with kite kernel.i love the new looks.also, flashing latest nightly from official cm is not bad.kite kernel will work with it too.

I was reading nice reviews about that rom for the S4, so you recommend me the last Nightlies more than the stable version ?, wow dude why ?, is it not supposed than the stable version is better ?, hmmm i'm confused now hahaha , yeah in some threads they recommend quickboot to boot into custom recoverys, i will use that kernel when i finish flashing the rom, but tell me why last Nightlies prior to stable one ?, i'm little newbie about the differences, i have not read the chanellog, so teach me if you can, thanks kimitza in advance :good:
Don't be confused by the titles.all builds are good for daily driver,cm team doesn't release anything but quality.it's called nightly because they merge somethings, they add some features etc,but it's the same base as stable.
I'm using tb s4 now and i'm impressed.

Yes, I don't know what else to try. If installing cm10.1 does not modify your current baseband it must be configuration or rom. Tried 2 different aosp based rom (cm10.1 nightly and pacman) with 3 different kernels (p33, cm stock and kite).
Also tried adding hsdpa categories explicitly on build.prop. Tried using service hidden menu to switch between modem bands. Tried backing up the whole modem partition img from the stock rom my phone came with and making a flashable zip, which didn't work either.
So if anyone with movistar (Venezuela) can do "dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 of=/sdcard/1modem.img" from a root shell on the phone or from adb (with adb shell su -c) compress the img and upload it, I would appreciate eternally. The image should be around 64mb uncompressed. I would make a flashable zip and give it back if it works.

Hi Bro,
You can use the latest LG Flashtool 1.8 and the latest .tot file. It works flawlessly.. I'd recommend not to flash this Rom on ur current rom as the base of this rom is E980.
This ROM has also European Languages .Very nice. I removed the modem.img from zip and flashed it on my E986. I did a factory reset in recovery and format system and wipe dalvik cache and than install zip from external SD in CWM 6.0.4.8. The External SD card is working. Fotos and downloads remained on internal storage. Also speakerphone is working in a call. Awesome Finally a fully working LG 4.4 2 KitKat with Dutch language.

Hi Bro,
You can use the latest LG Flashtool 1.8 and the latest .tot file. It works flawlessly.. I'd recommend not to flash this Rom on ur current rom as the base of this rom is E980.

This is easier said than done, but i always got an LG Flash Tool error saying that my device is wrong.
LG Mobile Tool Support currently recognize my phone as e988 coz i flashed a stock JB e988 hongkong KDZ.
By default, i think LG Flash Tool does not work for OG Pro International variants
Has anyone by pass this error.

Hello bro, the procedure would be the same to install the Sling v3.0? Because I try to install over the KitKat Stock E977-Brazil and are stuck on the logo or I get "Error Boot Security", thanks in advance.

Thanks, but i found a way to install the ROM at E976 (E977 and E987 also) (4.4.2 or 4.1.2) steps would be (Thanks to Alejandro VC for help):
- Backup of IMEI and Módem
- Flash the firmware 4.4.2 v30c F180L
- Root (with Towelroot)
- Install Freegee, then open and install CWM Recovery (not unlocked bootloader)
- Reboot in Recovery Mode
- Full Wipe
- Install the ROM (v3.0)
- Install Patch v3.1
- Reboot
Cheers. :good:

Sling Rom 3.0 flashes fine on e975 but it doesnot boot after flashing the rom. Developer quotes it requires a locked bootloader.
It actually requires a stock 20c kernel of e975 to be flashed after installation.
so i tried by flashing solid kk kernel but still it didnt boot.
To get this rom to boot up on unlocket bootloader follw this simple procedure.
you have to be on stock rom or custom stock rom with unmodified kernel.
1.Install philz Recovery.
2.Backup the current stockrom.
3.Do a factory reset.(clean to install a new rom in philz recovery)
4.Install the rom.
5.Uncheck the reboot now in the aroma installation at the end.
6.Go to custom restore option in the recovery and restore only boot img.(tick only boot and then start custom restore)
7.After restoring boot do a factory reset(dont click on "clean to install rom", Just a normal factory reset)
8.Reboot now.
Now you will have sling Rom booting up with unlocked bootloader.

Done this on e975 and choose f180L in aroma... boot succesfully but no signal. Try kitkat baseband v20b, reboot, restore efs, reboot...baseband v20a, reboot.... but no luck :/
Then try same method but choose e975 version in aroma and no boot -> black screen after google logo.
any solution?
