I just came across this story and became sad after reading it.

I assumed that Google Nexus phones would be refreshed every two year once, but it seems another Nexus phones could be released within this year itself. [emoji22] [emoji22] [emoji22]

It seems the trend goes back even farther than that, the earliest Nexus devices were released in winter, at the start and end of 2010 respectively:
- Nexus One (HTC): January 5, 2010
- Nexus S (Samsung): December 16, 2010
Also the original Android phone was launched in the fall:
- HTC Dream: October 22, 2008
(The HTC Dream isn't really a Nexus, but I think it wanted to be one; it was Google branded, and it ran stock Android.)
But people where touting that Nexus 5 was replaced only after 2 years with 5x after two years.
But i was disappointed to see 5x to be replaced so soon.

I think you're looking at it wrong as "replacement". there's no reason to think that *just because* another 5" version of the Nexus phone will be released this year that the the 2015 5X will suddenly be obsolete.
It not at all unexpected either..pretty much all flagship phone brand lines are updated annually.
I have the 5x and I already want a new device. Come on it was only like 300+ on super Thursday. Then I can give this beauty to the Mrs and bye bye vzw. Fi is the only way to go.

Does anybody know anything about a new Note 8.0?
Errr.... maybe because the current one has only recently been released in many countries.

There is a whole thread on upcoming Note 8 successor here, full of uninformed guesses and wild speculations. Enjoy.

I would imagine it would have something to do with this tablet only being out for 6 months. How often do you find out about new Apple products? Or Toyota? Or anything else that matters?
I imagine the next Note 8.0 will be released next year and pretty much be a Note 3 in this form factor, but with a poorer camera and no flash. x.x
No offence, but there is not much point to this thread. Perhaps time for it to be closed.

The Note 10.1 Came out in August of 2012. The Note 8 came out in April 2013. The Note 10.1 2014 edition was released in October of 2013, roughly a year after the original. I expect the next version of the Note 8 to follow a similar yearly schedule.
Hey guys, I got a question for the owners of that cover, for thouse who got perfect fit, what month your tablet made?
DAO 2013 october
DBO 2013 november
DCO 2013 december
E1O 2014 january ?
why is this in the Nexus 7 (2013) thread???????
It may not be an ASUS built machine, but the rumors have started for a Huawei 7in tablet. Hopefully more info will come in ~ a month??
http://www.theverge.com/2016/9/5/12804230/7-inch-google-tablet-huawei-rumor
A 7-inch Google tablet built by Huawei could be on the way
Finally, a successor to the Nexus 7
Google's Huawei-built 7-inch tablet, with 4GB RAM, on track for release before the end of the year.

I've had the N7 2013 since it came out and love it but would instantly buy an 8" 4:3 tablet and ditch kick this thing to the curb
I'm waiting on either this updated N7 or a Samsung Tab S3 to be more than rumors and vaporware to think about ditching my Flo.

Updates are guaranteed for 2 years since original release I believe. So yes, 2017 for major ones at least.

Yees its answers my question tnx dear
I am not talking about Nougat; I am talking about security updates.
Until October, 2016, I received small monthly security patches on my Nexus 7 (2013). On September, there was no patch, and that was when Google made clear that Nexus 7 would not get Nougat. Does this mean that Google has completely abandoned the Nexus 7 (2013), and will no longer provide security patches for it?
The Nexus 7 '13 was released on July 26, 2013. Google promised 3 years of security patches from the product release date, or 18 months from when they leave the Google Store, whichever is longer. They pulled the N7 '13 from the Store at the end of April last year, so they are obligated to about 2 weeks more support, then we're done. So, we should receive the OCT 16 security patch, and that will be it for the N7 '13.
Thank you. So, basically, all Nexus 7 users would need to switch to CyanogenMod from November, if they do not want security breaches.
I've been told that Google has stopped giving official updates but they are still keeping the device tree and kernel up to date for those who want to build the newest android for themselves. N 7.0 is already available for the 2013 nexus 7
