Swype mic icon missing - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The mic icon in swype is missing to initiate text to speech. It's always been there, the option is checked in settings, and it shows up on the samsung keyboard. Ideas?

Did you try clearing the data for Swype

Cache and data both cleared. Downloaded the swype app from play store and it has mic but I really don't want another app to do what the native swype app should be doing. Plus I don't like dragon.

Any other thoughts?

I actaully just tried clearing cache, clearing swype data, starting in safe mode and the mic icon is back. Even after booting back into normal it is still there so I'm assuming something is interfering.

Problem with an icon

I am running Bonsai 4 and epic dark theme. Everything was fine, then I am not sure what I did to change an icon..
On my dock I have the 4th icon as my sms messenger. It was working fine. Now when I click it it takes me to applications and not my sms messenger.
I long pressed on the icon and reset it to go to the messenger. Did not fix it
I then tried to reset the icon and the gesture. This also did not fix it
I then long pressed it, and reset the SMS messenger again, and then rebooted. Also did not fix it.

Keyboard input notification?

I have a weird thing going on with my sprint (rooted on stock rom) gs3. Out of nowhere the keyboard input notification keeps showing. I had the Google voice input unchecked and it was staying that way after a reboot, but now it turns on automatically after each reboot. I haven't done anything at all, no mods, no apps were downloaded.
How can I make the option stick?
Thanx.
Notice that the Google voice typing setting got checked on its own while I had the phone on.
For some reason I suspect the Google search.

CM 7.2 Audible Selection sound doesn't always work

It's supposed to make a clicking sound every time I tap something, like the app drawer, apps, menu buttons, links, etc. Problem is, it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I tried rebooting, clearing dalvik and cache, un-ticking and ticking Audible Selection. Nothing seems to work. System volume is turned up to max. Is there anything else I can try?

Click to collapse
Found out the issue. Sound is sort of gradual with 7.2. Like with selecting things or typing on the keyboard. Sound sort of fades in. It's really quiet and then gets as loud as the volume meter allows. Is there any way to change that? It's actually bugging me quite a bit. I tried looking in Sounds in the main settings menu and in CyanogenMod settings and can't find anything pertaining to the issue. I even tried looking through Spare Parts. Nada.

Screen goes black during Google Voice Playback?!

i've been using Google Voice for some time now and it's great. For some reason the other day when I press the PLAY button on a VM in my Google Voice inbox, the screen goes mostly black except the title bar. So, the screen is NOT shutting off, it's like the app itself is going black. See screenshot.
I've tried to delete the app data and cache and uninstall and reinstall the app to no avail.
Any help?
Thanks,

Resetting keyboard

Hello!
Every time, after reboot my Note 4 rooted NK2 Rom resetting keyboard and making Samsung keyboard as default keyboard. Usually i'm using Smart Keyboard Pro but after every reboot I'm doing it again and again.
Is it only me?
The Google Play version of Swype had this issue after the last update. The recommended workaround is to use the pull-down to set your default keyboard. Worked for Swype. You should see the keyboard icon in your notification screen when keyboard is open.
Clear all data on Samsung keyboard and reconfigure it via language & input options and see of that works. Sometimes the data in apps can be a bit wonky so clearing app data should always fix it
