Resetting keyboard - Sprint Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
Every time, after reboot my Note 4 rooted NK2 Rom resetting keyboard and making Samsung keyboard as default keyboard. Usually i'm using Smart Keyboard Pro but after every reboot I'm doing it again and again.
Is it only me?

The Google Play version of Swype had this issue after the last update. The recommended workaround is to use the pull-down to set your default keyboard. Worked for Swype. You should see the keyboard icon in your notification screen when keyboard is open.

Clear all data on Samsung keyboard and reconfigure it via language & input options and see of that works. Sometimes the data in apps can be a bit wonky so clearing app data should always fix it

Disabling Stock Keyboard

This has probably been asked before, but is there a way to disable the stock keyboard in ICS? I just switched to using the new Swiftkey and the little pop up in the notification bar is driving me crazy.
I went into Keyboard settings and unchecked the Selector Notification...but for some reason, it still shows up. Anyone know how I can make this go away?

If you are running stock, no. But some roms have added it as an option to remove that.
good day.
I'm running ParanoidAndroid. I disabled the notification indicator...but it still shows up, probably because the stock keyboard is still enabled.

You can rename or just delete system/app/LatinIME.apk and if you don't use google voice typing then untick it in language and input.
good day.
Just disable the stock keyboard in applications...
EDIT.. Once you disable "Android Keyboard" in applications, you have to reboot.
Google Voice Typing is still an option though.. so you may have to disable that too if the notification appears.
Second edit... after unchecking Google Voice Typing... the language selector is no longer there.

This may be a little late, but regarding the Galaxy S4, if your phone is rooted, you can find an App Manager app, or download ROM Toolbox, and you can go find Samsung Keyboard, and either freeze, or uninstall it, I chose to freeze it just in case I ever had to use it again, I downloaded Swiftkey years ago and that little notification icon has been seriously bothering me

[Q] hardware keyboards force software keyboard to stock.

the same problem as the unanswered question at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1517293 exists on the note 2.
whenever a physical keyboard is connected to the phone using USB or Bluetooth the software keyboard is switched to the stock Samsung keyboard.
a null keyboard or prediction-only keyboard would make more sense.
does anyone know of a way to disable this automatic switch, or change it so a different keyboard like null keyboard is loaded instead?
I'm also facing the same problem on Jelly Bean Samsung S3 as well .. searching for the solution
best solution i could find so far is to freeze the samsung keyboard using titanium backup(android refuses to freeze it through the apps list)
you need to reboot after freezing it, otherwise it will completely disable the keyboard switcher notification when you connect a keyboard, and it doesn't return after disconnecting it.
Download null keyboard from the play store.
Select it when you use an external. That way you get to use your whole screen instead of the redundant on-screen keyboard taking up half of it.

only to have it revert to Samsung keyboard again if the keyboard loses connection for a second.
if you'd read my original post properly you would have known I now of null keyboard, but that's not going to change the fact that no matter what keyboard I use its still going to switch back to the Samsung keyboard as soon as I connect a physical keyboard.
I know of only 2 ways to prevent that: freeze/delete the Samsung keyboard, or use a rom without the Samsung keyboard.
I have gotten this working with moderately aggressive use of tasker. I tried to post this but my post was flagged and blocked for some reason. As soon as I hear back why or if I can go ahead, I will share what I did.

Without going into too much detail, I set a tasker shortcut to first enable accessibility for tasker (done with Secure Settings plug-in) and put in on my home screen or app drawer. (Must tap this before connecting keyboard.)
Then a profile triggered by the notification "Keyboard connected" which waits 2 secs and then enables the keyboard of choice.
Also set a profile triggered by notification "Keyboard disconnected" which set keyboard back to my desired default and turned off Tasker's accessbility option.
The reason for the accessibility settings are: Tasker can't react to notifications without accessibility turned on, and I couldn't find any other state that matched a USB keyboard being connected. Also, enabling Tasker's accessibility will disable AirView and TalkBack for some reason, and also messes with the SwiftKey function of Samsung Keyboard, so I wanted the accessibility to be turned back off after I disconnected the keyboard.

[Q] Settings Reset when Restart

Whenever I restart my phone, all of my settings get reset!
These include:
Camera settings (where pictures are stored, anti-shake, etc)
Default keyboard is still set properly to Swiftkey, but the keyboard that comes up is the stock Jellybean keyboard until i tell it to use Swiftkey again...
Am I missing something, is this just an annoying bug?

Default Applications Problem

For some reason my LG G4 has an issue keeping the default app settings for basically everything. When I install Textra SMS and set it as the default SMS application it stays as the default app only until I reboot my phone then it resets to Messaging every time. Same thing goes with the default keyboard but worse as when I set the default keyboard to SwiftKey it only stays default until I hide then reopen the keyboard then it's set to the LG Keyboard again. My phone can't seem to keep default settings for any application and was wondering if anyone else has had this issue or if anyone has an idea on how to fix it.
Thanks in advanced.

Weird keyboard behavior

Hello all
I have this annoying problem that's just first world problem but problem non the less....
I use Swiftkey keyboard and when I open Chrome Beta or any other text input field the keyboard doesn't pop up no matter how many times I click on text input field!
To get keyboard to show I have to swipe up 'suggestions tab' (I have Chrome home flag enabled), swipe it down and then when I click on text input field the keyboard finally shows and then keeps on working...
I tried finding the solution but all I found was that people were having problems with keyboard randomly disappearing and nothing similar to what I'm experiencing!
It's just a few swipes more but it gets really annoying...
I tried different versions of keyboard, tried enabling and disabling Google keyboard, removing Swiftkey from battery optimization, different versions of Chrome and Chrome Beta (with and without Chrome home flag enabled), it doesn't matter which software I use - it was doing that from official nougat and the moment that I took it out of the box to latest Open Beta that I'm using now...
I'm rooted with Magisk and twrp on open beta 8.1 oreo
Can someone suggest something?
