Hi all
I have a GT-N7100. Got a problem where screen says "Firmware upgrade encountered an error" I can get to download mode (with the aid of USB jig) but Stock ROM's (or any other ROM) will not flash. Odin stops at Get PIT for mapping, then fails. Phone not rooted (never has been), and running official ROM.
Download screen shows
FACTORY MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT-N7100
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
Know Warranty Void: 0
AP SWREV: A2
Is this SDS???
Any advise appreciated.
Thanks
dry that....
get out the battery from Phone, without battery hold Power-Button to 5-10 seconds.
Insert battery and with shortcut >volume Down< >Home Button> <Power Button> hold on to start up
Another option is 3.Parts Firmware Flash
Maybe it Works
Leider nicht. the power option did not work.
Do you know where to find the 3 part firmware flash?
Danke
Did you try different USB ports, different USB cables?
try different Odin versions and cables/PCs

I have the PIT file. Tried flashing with ROM.
Odin gets stuck at "Get PIT for mapping"
Also tried to have a look at the phone via abd. Device is not detected. My Note 3 is. Probably because i can only get to download mode.

So how do you tell if its the wrong (or right) one? Phone is Note 2 GT-N7100 16GB. Got the PIT from this forum
Thanks
Not sure how to tell if it is wrong. All I can suggest is that you look for another pit.

my friend tried to root his T999 but messed up on a step im guessing so now his phone will boot straight to odin mode. i tried putting it in download mode and use odin3 to restore it back to stock but odin3 would get stuck at the "nand write start" stage. his phone says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." when it is powered up. does anybody know how to fix this issue?? any help would be great! i googled everything that i could think of and tried everything that was suggested but nothing works! thanks in advance!!

Contradictory. Is it in download mode or isn't it?
You did not say what was being flashed with Odin, either.
Phones do not boot into ODIN. You will have to provide more info so we can help.
Links to the ROM or software you used etc.
ok i shouldve explained this a little more clearly. when i power on the phone it says this...
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SGH-T999
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (10 COUNTS)
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
so i pulled the battery, put it in download mode (vol down + home + power) ran ODIN3, and tried to flash SGH-T999_TMB_T999UVALH2_T999TMBALH2_Original (which is a stock image) thats when it gets stuck at the NAND write start!!
I could be completely wrong but it appears you tried to install an incompatible rom.
are you talking about the SGH-T999_TMB_T999UVALH2_T999TMBALH2_Original file?

If I understand correctly you flashed that after the first one. I'm not a IT guy, but to the best of my understanding if you flash a ROM intended for another device you are going to have major issues. Sorry. I know my answers are not what you are looking for. I am trying to give you a heads up for your friends phone.

Hi,
I am trying to flash stock ROM on GT-n5100 with no success. I will first recap what I did:
1. Tried to flash N5100XXBMD1 EUR version from samsung-updates with odin and it failed with invalid volume size
2. Recovery was not working, I flashed CWM and recovery mode was still not working, only the gt-n5100 logo.
3. Flashed stock recovery, and recovery mode still not accesible, stuck in the same logo.
4. After flashing recovery, device booted in normal android. Tried to root using galaxy note 8.0 toolkit 1.1 and insecure boot method and now the device doesn't boot at all, it gets stuck in gt-n5100 logo.
5. I can enter download mode, but every stock firmware I try to flash fails with invalid volume size message on the tablet.
So, I think I may have a problem with the partitioning. I may have got broken somehow. Does someone have the pit file for N5100XXBMD1 ? or a 3 part stock firmware I can try to flash?
The pit file can be extracted from a working n5100 using Heimdall Suite in download mode. Maybe I can use a .pit file from another n5100 running N5100XXBMD1 ?
Also can you please tell if I'm doing something wrong? I double and triple checked all options in Odin.
Thank you.

Tried from a different PC and same problem from Odin "Invalid volume size".I can't seem to find the serial number on the device to use Kies Firmware Initialization, but as I recall, yesterday when Android booted, Kies said that initialization is not supported for this device.
Anyway, can anyone extract the pitfile from their n5100? Or give me a serial number that works in Kies?
Thank you.

I checked from Kies with the serial number that I got from the box and it says "GT-N5100 does not support initializing".
Can someone with a N5100 extract the .pit file from it's tablet? It would be very helpful. I can guide you through the process using Heimdall 1.3.1. It is done in download mode.
Also if anyone has another idea on how to revive this tablet I would really appreciate it.

For anyone that can help me with this .pit file, It will not harm your tablet in any way. The procedure does not write anything to your tablet, You just nee to install Heimdall Suite on your pc, put the tablet in download mode, connect it and the app has a buton that says Download .pit file.

Ok then. I'll look into the option of sending the tablet to Samsung. Too bad I can't get help here, but at least I tried.

i am uploading pit file and partition output from heimdall, its from version 4.2.2
hi
this img how it works?
Well, I sure hope I didn't jack up my new phone for good.
I was using odin to get OUDHS CWM-Based Recovery 1.0.3.3 working.
I booted the phone into download mode, then connected and waited for my phone to be recognized. I selected the correct tar and hit start.
It failed on the first write section, and I couldn't get it to continue so i turned my phone off and tried to boot into download mode again. Now no matter what I do it gives me the "firmware upgrade failed" message and tells me to connect to Kies, but Kies will not detect my device.
Any ideas?
For reference I was following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2260031 to the letter.
I will continue to work on this for awhile.

If I were you I would forget about KIES and uninstall it along with any other samsung applications and drivers
you have on your computer, then reboot your computer and download only the Samsung USB Drivers.
Once you have the latest samsung usb drivers install it and restart your computer.
That way you will have a clean start, and if the screen of your phone displays
anything at all, especially if it displays something about kies then that proves that
your phone will go into download mode if it's done properly.
Press the volume down, home and the power button at the same time until the phone vibrates
and then let go of the power button first before letting go of the other two buttons.
Before you do any of this, you need to download the stock Samsung Jellybean
v4.2.2 M919 MDL Touchwiz Odin flash firmware.
Here is the link to download it: http://k0nane.info/rom/M919UVUAMDL_M919TMBAMDL_TMB.zip
Here is the latest Samsung USB Drivers download: http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/c...ng_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1.5.14.0.exe
Well did finally get Kies to pick up the phone but it just gets stuck on connecting. How is anyone supposed to do a firmware recovery if the phone cant be connected to?
I will try what you said and uninstall and only install the usb drivers.
And to answer your question I can't get into download mode, it just skips right to the Firmware upgrade error.
Although in the top left of the screen I see this:
ODIN MODE
Product Name: SGH-M919
Current Binary: Custom
System Status: Official
CSB-OEM_CONFIG_LSB: 0x30
Write Protection: Enable
Does that mean anything?

Then do it the old fashion way, pull the battery out of the phone
and while pressing the volume down/home/power buttons put
the battery back in and see if that gets it into download mode.
(I hope your phone is a Tmobile M919 and not the international version or a variant like the M919V).

Yes, it's is the T-Mobile version. It has the case branding and everything. I got it straight from them.
Ah, that did it! I'm now back in download mode. Thank you.
I'm downloading the stock firmware, it will take about an hour. Should I attempt to flash the OUDHS recovery again, or wait and just flash the stock JB firmware?

You are downloading the STOCK JB firmware now....
After your phone is up and running reboot into download mode and you will need to Odin flash the OUDHS recovery TAR file: http://d-h.st/jTk
Once that's flashed you will need to go into OUDHS recovery and flash this superuser.zip file: http://www.shabbypenguin.com/Android/Scripts/Nexus-Files/Root/Superuser-1.0.1.1.zip
After flashing the superuser.zip reboot the phone.
Just to play it safe, after you reboot the phone reboot it again in recovery and flash this:http://batakang.com/ftp/SGH-M919/ROOT_M919UVUAMDL.zip
This will setup your kernel to be 100% un-restricted so there will be no chance that you will loose root access.
NOTE: If you want to keep your phone STOCK then after odin flashing the JB stock firmware don't do anything else.
Good luck!
Thank you for the help. One question though, Do i continue to use the PDA button on odin for the JB flash like I was instructed for the other thing or do I use the phone button?
FWIW home button is not needed on the S4 to enter recovery or download mode. I love it Just hold down one of the volume buttons as its booting and voila

Hi
Whit cmd on terminal emulator attached #1 we can create the pit file (not good for devices 32 GB). I made it. We have it on Sdcard.
It is out.pit inside out.zip.
The PitMagic is appl to extract the pit file on Windows Pc. Choice PIT file Analysis and open the file. Only to verify if the Pit is alright (this out.pit is) and have a listing if is good.
PIT_Analyses is the listing from the Pit File created on my S4 Mini I9195. The partition number is the "identifier".
I made this but never tried it. If you want try at Your risk, my out.pit created.

Hi, it is possible to create a pit file to have more space in interial memory? In my second phone Galaxy s2 (16Gb) I "put" pit file with 6GB. And from this time I do not have any problem to install everything i wont. For s4 mini LTE 8GB it is possible?
Hi,
I noticet it was possible through this thread to obtain a pit file for the S4 mini to restore factory settings.
I need a pit file too but modified using the combination of internal storage+SD card.
I created a thread for this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...5-pit-file-t3199645/post62789202#post62789202
I was told to use pit magic but I do.not know how to use it well.and hot to.combine both media.
Can someone please help me out reaching my goal?
Unfortunately, till I do not get this pit file (proper and reliable) I vlcannot installed/upgrade to Lollipop.
Thank you

The model @ shown in download is the firmware you should be flashing, not the n7100.
Flash the latest ROM from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SGH-T889/
