that is what you call burn in i didnt expect that it will appear on quantom ips displays which is on amoled displays like the samsung galay series i experience that from samsung s4 and i sell it after seeing that i dont really like to replace the lcd because it will cost me a lot of money, you can download some apps on playstore to remove that just forget what the apps name
Erica Griffin has done a video about amoled displays burning in, specifically on Nexus 6. Watch it and see if it helps you, but I don't think you'll fix it with an app though, I think you'll have to replace your display which should be free if you're under guarantee.
I will send it in service (warranty)
I got a light one at the sides only. Mine was manufactured 10-2015 smh

This is really strange and is not a typical burn in. A normal burn it can only happen to an amoled display

i would like to send my phone to replace the screen, but i am asking if LG has another version of quantum screens that won't burn in. And..what's the problem with the motherboard?
This is what he told me in service. That he contact lg and they told him to change motherboard (no screen). I was first in that service with G4 and he change my screen because he have lot of them.
I have the same issue with my H815. And bootloader is unlocked so I lost the warranty. One of the best android phone but sh t happens.
This isn't a burn in. This is something else that every other screen has and it's completely normal to have it.
We're running on an LCD display. Any pixel too white for too long will stay a bit whiter than the surrounding pixels for a time until it gets back to normal.
On AMOLED displays it's called a burn-in because the effect is actually permanent. But on LCD displays it fixes itself over time.
Mine too gets these red or pink... "Things"... on the sides of the screen if i was on some white screen for a long time. But give it 5 minutes and it's gone.
i have the same issue guys!i sent it for repair tommorow.so sad..
I have the same problem, although it comes and goes. Only started recently and the phone is about six months old.
Will it get worse with time and is it worth it to replace under warranty if it will just happen again?

That actually looks like LCD burn. My HTC desire is suffering from that. The blue dot is confusing me a bit though. If I were you, definitely RMA it. It will not go away.
This made its way to my Nexus 7 too a week ago , only red and much smaller.. wasn't there before , really have no idea why this happened.
Same here,
Even bigger blue and red blotches. Visible only on highest brightness and black background. I found them with the "Dead Pixel Test".
Should I send it for repair?
same here.
A big Blue splotch visible on the highest brightness in black towards the top right , and a faint red splotch in the middle of the screen. May RMA it but, it will probably have to go back to ASUS for a long time as I bought it from Currys in the UK.
I think I'll end up rmaing mine I just hate how long it will take..
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
Mine has a blue spot and it was there from day one. It's very small and I never see it unless on a black screen in a dark room. But I have an rma that I ordered on Saturday so hopefully it ships tomorrow. Didn't rma for the blue dot btw. Paid for 2 day shipping so I'm hoping to have it by the end of the week. I don't mind waiting as I get to use my current n7 till I get my new one. So I don't see not rmaing because of how long it will take. The only downfall with doing an RMA is that they will put a hold for the full amount of the tablet plus tax. They offer free 3-5 day free shipping and the hold will fall off usually within a 5 days to a week depending on your bank or card issuer.

Asus screwed up with the 7inch ips on the nexus
Asus obviously messed something up on this device's screen because mine has several red and blue dots as well and a dead pixel as too, I don't think I can RMA it as i have flashed cyanogenmod to it before noticing, can I?
Same here, blue only. And only visible on the Google startup screen, likely cause it's all black.

Wonder what the manufacture date of those defective units are. I just RMAd my n7 LTE bought new in November 2013 for this very issue. My replacement was manufactured in November 2013. Haven't had any issues *yet* and also the touchscreen bug is gone.
Mine has one blue dot and some light protrusion on the sides. I'm not sure if it's as big as the one in the first picture but it's definitely visible on dark (especially black) backgrounds...
I've noticed a few days ago that on my G Pad a white spot has appeared on the lower left side of the screen.
I've never seen it and I'm almost sure that is not something there from day one (I would have noticed since then)
Here you can see some photos. It may seems small and hard to spot but if I scroll a page with a white background I can notice it immediately. This happens only with the white, with all the other colors I can't see it.
Do you what it is? A little damage on the screen or some problem that I can resolve with the warranty?

I don't know what it is but my first G Pad did this after about 3 months, had a refund and bought another. That is now, after 4 months use, away being repaired for the same issue. Both had 3 or 4 spots or small patches, as you say, they become obvious when you scroll a mainly white screen but are tricky to photograph.

Wow... What are you going to do? Try with the lg customer service or keep it?
Do you think that maybe a new model (or ours fixed) is going to show the same issue after some time?
I have the same issue! And it's not all: it's the second G Pad with the same issue!
I buy the first, then when I see the the problem I went to an LG service which change the old one with a new, but the new one has the same issue...plus a dead pixel
No I haven't contacted lg regarding this issue, I brought it five months ago. I think am just going to keep it as it nothing too major.

I sent my G Pad to store where I buy it. Them have sent it to an LG center.....after two months my G Pad came back with a only a firmware reset, because for LG the problem doesn't exist or it's not enough to be repaired...
I've had a similar issue and within 2 weeks the Tab came back with a new screen - without the bright spot, without thin blue line and without any lightbleeding.

My G Pad was away for this problem for about 10 days and has come back without the white spots on screen. There's no obvious sign of how they do the repair (good!) - paperwork says replacement display.
This was in the UK, it was about 4 months old and I contacted the retailer who contacted LG, who agreed the repair (I had to send photos) and arranged for a courier to take it to the repair centre. The new panel seems to be a bit pink but maybe the old one was too !
Oh well, the new, replaced display has a dead pixel too. It looks really tiny, almost as it is just one pixel, so I don't think the retailer will repair it Honestly, I won't go buy any other LG device in the future.
I don't know if I'll buy another LG product in the future, but I'll keep in my mind this bad experience...
I tried to bring my Gpad to a LG Repair Center. I hope that the defect will be resolved

Definitely a screen burn, image burn-in during charging...
(You can clearly see the charging ring burned into the screen)
That's not a good sign... but this is the first time I've seen or heard anything about this, so most likely just a defective unit.
Definitely get a replacement before it is too late.
Someone else posted something like this a while ago he got his from Google I / O. Apparently his developed screen burn-in pretty quickly as well. I'm hoping these are just defective units and not a sign of things to come for all of us.

That looks horrible.
I decided to stick it on the charger all night and its worse (ha!) I'm glad i went through best buy. I'm going in and politely demanding a prompt replacement. its odd, the display seems to have more jagged edges on the screen icons as well as a change in brightness since this problem started.
that sucks man, considering the shortage, I hope you get a quick replacement

Turning the screen off helps charge the battery faster too, don't know why Moto decided to leave it dim...
I called Motorola, they knocked 10% off and free shipping. Best buy couldn't order through their stock system on account of scarcity. I should receive a new one within 4 weeks. I hope it's still the grey band and not the stone leather one. I added more photos of how bad the burn in was.
Yeah, that's crazy. Definitely defective!
I actually liked having the display on all night on my nightstand and using it as a clock. Never had any Ill effects, though
Seems like a defective unit or there would be a ton of people reporting this. Sorry for your loss and I hope you get a replacement soon!
i thought it looked nice as well although it bathed my room in blue light that made it hard to close my eyes.

Nope people only post when they have issues. What would be the point of everyone with no issues creating a thread to say "my watch works fine"?
i honestly don't think he had a bad unit. i think that these screens are subject to burn in just like early plasma hd screens. he already stated that he left the watch on the charger for two days with a static image. that is a recipe for burn in on screens that are susceptible to burn in. after reading this thread i turn my screen off when the phone is on the charger.

Hey guys just got my G4 but i feel the phone easily get hot just on light usage like browsing the web for 5-10 minutes. Or just watching HD video for 5 minutes... Is that my device defect or what? Anyway mine was dual sim one thanks
Mine doesn't heat up on usage. The only he warmed was on extreme heavy usage using camera with tons of stuff on, or using it as gps.
Yeah this is actually probably the coolest fun I've used. I could have cooked eggs a few times with you note 4

Ok thats weird because mine heated up alot anyway if the phone has auto on feature? Because i just realized when i unplug the cord the phone booting itself
Maybe try a different player? Something is not right. My H815 runs cool.
Mine one also have heating issue. Yah it doesn't become untouchable but the main problem is I do not feel the heat on the back, I feel it in front, so it gets uncomfortable while talking outside in the hot summer days like these here.
too much heating on the lg g4
hi,
my lg g4 is heating up like crazy, specially on the front side which makes it really difficult to talk. also when the phone is in my pocket for over 3 0 minutes untouched i still feel the heat on my thigh and battery drops by 15-20%..... anyone with any solution to this?
Comparing between our Note4, G2s and G4s ... the new G4s generate more heat (warm) ... I can barely feel the heat on our G2s & the note4 is cool.
I don't play games at all. I think the G4s get better over time (it was much warmer the 1st day vs. the 2nd ...)

One had a loose home button, one had a dead pixel and the first I exchanged because of this screen issue because I didn't know it was normal at first. So I'm on my 4th one.

Yea every iPhone I have ever owned never had an issue like this so I am seriously considering switching back to Apple.
To be honest I do not think this is normal as I watched a lot of videos and reviews and no mention of this issue. I also can not find mention anywhere of an AMOLED doing this. The only mention was in dark on a black screen there are some lines and such.

I haven't noticed this problem on my Note 5, or any of my previous-model Notes. On the other hand, I don't really see it in your photo either, so maybe I'm just not observant enough.
Just took the phone back today. The rep from Samsung said that is in no way normal for AMOLED. I got a replacement we took it outside and the screen is beautiful. No ugly smudging anymore!
