Hello,
I just got the desire eye from AT&T and it is on 4.4.4 and I am wondering if doing the OTA would break unlocking the boot loader or anything else. I want to test the phone while I can still return it.
Thanks for your time
Nevermind, I just unlocked the boot loader and flashed TWRP and then the GPE Rom. It's prefect now!

Hiya, call me a noob, a super noob perhaps but I was very new to the whole android custom rom experience. I was running viper custom sense rom but as it had become buggy I decided to try and revert back to stock. Following guides I read on here and saw on YouTube I ended wiping the phone and re-locking the boot loader and flashing the stock recovery however I didn't realise that there were specific ruu needed for different models. I live in the UK and have the phone on the network three so I'm assuming its sim locked to h3g. I don't know what to do (if anything) now to get my phone working as I cannot unlock the boot loader to try installing a custom rom so don't know what to do... Is this phone fixable or now a full blown brick ? Thanks Aaron
Why can't you unlock your bootloader again?
Just perform the same steps as when you first unlocked it

Hello everyone,
I'm not new the whole rooting and installing recovery/kernel/roms. I've always had a Galaxy S phone. Though this is my first time having an HTC phone since the first ever android phone launched (G1).
I have the boot loader unlocked, I was just wondering what does s-off get me ? I can install TWRP and root it through the recovery, but after that it sometimes takes ~15 minutes for the phone to boot in, is that normal ?
Because of that, I went back to stock and left it that way. Firewater doesn't work with my phone. I also know I can sound incredibly cheap right about now, I don't want to pay $25 for s-off.
So where do I go to after unlocking the boot loader ? I want to use THIS ROM, but is it 100% necessary to have s-off ?
Thanks in advance.
My bootloader is unlocked and my phone rooted. I don't have S-Off. Follow the HTC steps to unlock the bootloader.
Hi,
I've always been using CyanogenMod11 on my HTC One M8 since the day I got it.
But recently I wasn't fully satisfied with it so I wanted to flash a new ROM and simultaneously upgrade to Lollipop. I really didn't want to use HTC Sense so I figured that SkyDragon Google Play Edition would be a good option. I read through the whole post and flashed Philz Touch 6.25.5 since it was the recommended recovery.
The first boot took pretty long but seemed fine. But during the setup I realized the Wi-Fi is not working. Since I read in the F.A.Q. of SkyDragon that that's a common issue I guessed it wouldn't be much trouble.
Now, sadly, I did not make a backup of my completely stock HTC One M8 so I couldn't just update to the latest OTA. So I tried to S-off it but the compatibility-tests of SunShine said the ROM has to be closer to stock. Then I flashed the storc ROM from here and ran SunShine again, this time with positive results. But when it had to restart the phone during the process of S-off'ing it got stuck in a bootloop. Wiping cache and dalvik did nothing, only completely flashing a ROM again did.
Now everytime I flash a ROM the initial boot works but from then I can't just reboot because I always get stuck in a bootloop.
So, I got SkyDragon and it seems to be working just fine, except for the Wi-Fi, the bootloops and I still don't have S-off. I guess that fixing the bootloop might be the first step so I can S-off and manually flash the latest GPE L firmware.

You know you can RUU right??? That'll get you back to stock, and upgrade to the latest version.
Your first problem with WiFi was possibly because you needed to update your Firmware.
Just get the latest Lollipop FW and flash through fastboot. As the above guy mentioned, that'll more than likely fix your wifi issues. If you get the Lolli FW with Hboot/stock recovery then you'll lose all your data and recovery but you can reflash that easily. Try to find one without Hboot/stock recovery and you'll be good to go.
Why everyone is replying to OP that 2 & 1/2 months old ? OP was the first post and he never come back to XDA to post further
Previously unlocked the bootloader and rooted. Chainfire Supersu has full unroot option but it's not working, so I have since relocked bootloader and want to reflash stock rom as mms has not worked since rooting. Hours of searching has not turned up an aussie rom so I m hoping someone can turn up something I've missed, and relevant how to's. Thanks in advance

I am quite the idiot when it comes to custom roms and such, so i apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge. Anyways, I had CM13 for quite some time before this and was using twrp. In my adventures of installing my first custom rom I had thought I needed to re-lock my boot loader, so because of this i no longer has s-off. I used sunshine to achieve s-off in the first place and needed to go back to a stock rom to repeat the process. along with this I had gps problems on my custom rom and had read that i need to go back to stock. I looked on the internet to find a twrp flash able rom, that would do such. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2694994) I was unaware that this would get rid of my custom recovery (again, sorry for my stupidity) and now my screen is stuck on black when I try to boot up the phone, I am incapable of reverting back to my custom rom, and as I noted before, I have a locked boot loader. Everything I have looked for on the internet requires s-off. Is there any possible way re achieve s-off with out a functioning os (I can still access the stock bootloader) or am I just screwed?
Thank You for the help!
P.S. I have the Verizon variant.
Your biggest mistake here is installed wrong ROM on wrong device.
You shouldn't install a GSM stock ROM on a CDMA device, for your case is Verizon.
Search Verizon thread for RUU ..

Thanks for the help! I found an 0PGBIMG for the lollipop Verizon Rom and from there I could reinstall TWRP and then finally a GPE Verizon rom. I really appreciate the response, I didn't really expect one to and I'm glad I could receive your input! :good:
