Hi,
I've always been using CyanogenMod11 on my HTC One M8 since the day I got it.
But recently I wasn't fully satisfied with it so I wanted to flash a new ROM and simultaneously upgrade to Lollipop. I really didn't want to use HTC Sense so I figured that SkyDragon Google Play Edition would be a good option. I read through the whole post and flashed Philz Touch 6.25.5 since it was the recommended recovery.
The first boot took pretty long but seemed fine. But during the setup I realized the Wi-Fi is not working. Since I read in the F.A.Q. of SkyDragon that that's a common issue I guessed it wouldn't be much trouble.
Now, sadly, I did not make a backup of my completely stock HTC One M8 so I couldn't just update to the latest OTA. So I tried to S-off it but the compatibility-tests of SunShine said the ROM has to be closer to stock. Then I flashed the storc ROM from here and ran SunShine again, this time with positive results. But when it had to restart the phone during the process of S-off'ing it got stuck in a bootloop. Wiping cache and dalvik did nothing, only completely flashing a ROM again did.
Now everytime I flash a ROM the initial boot works but from then I can't just reboot because I always get stuck in a bootloop.
So, I got SkyDragon and it seems to be working just fine, except for the Wi-Fi, the bootloops and I still don't have S-off. I guess that fixing the bootloop might be the first step so I can S-off and manually flash the latest GPE L firmware.

You know you can RUU right??? That'll get you back to stock, and upgrade to the latest version.
Your first problem with WiFi was possibly because you needed to update your Firmware.
Just get the latest Lollipop FW and flash through fastboot. As the above guy mentioned, that'll more than likely fix your wifi issues. If you get the Lolli FW with Hboot/stock recovery then you'll lose all your data and recovery but you can reflash that easily. Try to find one without Hboot/stock recovery and you'll be good to go.
Why everyone is replying to OP that 2 & 1/2 months old ? OP was the first post and he never come back to XDA to post further

Hello,
A few days ago, HTC launched the official bootloader unlock for the DHD. I did this proces to unlock it and after the proces i used Ace Hack Kit to get root, Clockwork Recovery etc. I tried to flash a custom rom(yes, i wiped cache), but it freezes on the HTC logo. Then, i tried with Recovery to do something, like: format /sdcard...
But now it doesn't do anything except freezing on the HTC Logo. When i try to install a custom rom, i know it's installed. Because when i make a back-up with the PC I see a lot of file names.
I don't know what to do? The only thing what is working right now is the recovery...
PS. Additional information for u people
HBOOT-2.00.0029
Radio-26.14.04.28_M
And it has S-ON
Before this whole situation is was updated to the latest version.
I have some new information, I have an Official Unlocked Bootloader but no Root. S-ON and there is no working ROM on the phone... There is also no back-up... I hope u guys can help me
You need to wipe data, cache and dalvik cache then flash Rom. You don't wipe data and cache only when upgrading the same rom but even then it can cause issues. You always wipe dalvik cache though.
Not sure how long you're waiting but when I flashed ARHD and also opted and ended up with CoreDroid, at first when I did ARHD, the HTC logo after the update and reboot, the phone stayed at the HTC logo for approx. 10 mins. Guides don't mention how long you have to wait, but I almost tried to reboot and eventually decided to walk away and come back in 10 mins and the lockscreen and desktop was there.
If you've waited more than 15 mins, then I'd say you have a problem.
I've wiped data, cache and dalvik cache. Then I flashes a custom ROM (Android Revolution). But it still freezes on the HTC logo, u guys said to wait 10 min. I'm already waiting 30 minutes and it doesnt do anything...

What happens when you first flash the superwipe script from the Android Revolution HD thread?
I did the super wipe and then i flashes Android Revolution HD, its still freezes on the HTC logo
Maybe you didn't root properly since your radio is still S-ON. Try again with AAHK. I had a similar issue where the phone would not go past the boot screen. I would suggest you remove the SD, delete everything and format on your PC, put it back then try AAHK. Just read a LOT about it before you brick the phone.

Try flashing the "Set CPU clock back to 1.0 GHz" script from the ARHD first post. A small number of CPUs don't like the modest overclock in the ROM - this script sets the CPU to stock speed.
Boot into Recovery, re-flash the ROM, them immediately flash the "Set_to_default_1GHz.zip" file without rebooting. Once it's flashed, now try booting your phone.
I can't promise it will solve your problem, but it's the most common cause of phones getting stuck at the splash screen. Always assuming you haven't flashed any other mods after the ROM...
If that fails, mostly likely you need to re-run AAHK, but as said above, I'd suggest reading up to see how AAHK works on phones with the official unlock. You've said that the ROM flashed okay, but you've also said you're S-ON, so I'm not entirely sure what state your phone is in...
Maybe it's better to ask it first in the AAHK irc channel. The fact that the phone still has radio s-on indicates that de AAHK did not complete succesfully.
Actually I think the OP unlocked the bootloader with the HTC tool and then only installed CWM with AAHK. After that he just wiped the phone but because it still has radio s-on en no root it is now impossible to install any custom rom.
I think you're right about asking in the AAHK IRC.
However I thought the official HTC bootloader unlock removed security on some of the nand partitions.
As long as you have a custom recovery and S-Off, surely you don't need root to flash a ROM - root exists inside the Android OS, and you can flash a ROM onto a phone with the system partition wiped and no OS installed at all.
You need a form of S-Off to flash a custom ROM, otherwise the system partition is protected. The official unlock leaves security on the radio and SIM lock, so it still says "S-On" in the bootloader screen, but security is removed from some partitions. Whether the official bootloader unlock process removes security from enough partitions is another question. The HTC site says boot, system, and recovery, and AFAIK those and data are all ARHD writes to.
Having said all that, I don't claim to be an expert, and have never used the Hack Kit myself. So yes, probably best to ask the experts.
You're right about the root, that is something in de Android OS. You only need to have root it in the common methodes so you are able to get S-off from inside the Android OS. However I don't know either how the AAHK works exactly, what I know is that you normally use it with the stock rom still up and running...

I tried this, but it didn't work, i'm now gonna try the AAHK again
If that still doesn't work - ik222 says you might need to have Android running for it to work properly - I would flash an RUU and start again from scratch. The RUU will restore the entire phone to HTC official firmware.

Choose any WWE version, 3.12.405.1 is the very latest, or 1.72.405.3 is easy to root. Don't bother with the HTC unlock tool, just run the AAHK.

AAHK says there is no PD98IMG file on my phone, so how can i fix that?
What exactly are your trying to do right now? Restoring stock using AAHK?
Im trying to use AAHK to get s-off

You succesfully locked the bootloader as they said in support? Normally AAHK should do everything itself so that error shows that something is still not right...
They said in the support, that the hack only will work when the bootloader is locked. But i cant lock it...
Hello Everyone,
I am having an issue with my M8.
I decided to try out SkyDragon, give it a shot.
I downloaded the ROM, put it on my SDcard. Flashed Philz 6.25 recovery, did NOT make a nandroid backup (I know i'm an idiot),then proceeded to flash the rom via Philz.
I flashed the Rom, and followed all the instructions, I then rebooted the phone. Still stuck at the bootscreen. I read the Q&A and tried to flash the rom multiples times. Still stuck on the boot screen. I have an unlocked bootloader with S-ON.
I just got this phone a few months ago and I am unable to take it out of this state. Could use some help. Thank you.
Is your firmware up to date? Not sure about Skydragon specifically, but long boot times (along with broken WiFi) is often a symptom of outdated firmware.
Let the phone alone for 10 minutes or so, and see if it eventually boots, and isn't actually "stuck" (but rather just takes a REALLY long time).
To flash a different ROM, adb push it to internal storage, or put in on your SD with a USB card reader connected to your computer. Then boot into recovery and flash.

Hello,
I've actually tried flashing another ROM "Android HD Revolution" I believe. The phone shows the HTC Screen along with some red text at the bottoms saying "this build is for developer purposes only....". The phone then stays on the HTC screen for ~3mins then reboots and continues to boot loop.
You just need to flash the new firmware that is found in the sky dragon OP.
Easiest way is to use fastboot. Google fastboot firmware m8. Lots of guides out there. It's only a few commands.
Edit: Should have asked if you are s-off. That will make a difference in your ability to flash new firmware.

Hello Thanks for the reply.
However, I am currently S-ON, I have searched ways to achieve S-OFF but they all require installing a ROM. However, I cannot flash any rom, I will just get the bootloop. If you could advise on a method that would work for my situation, I would be very grateful.

Start with fastboot getvar all command in fastboot/bootloader, put the result here (delete serialno and imei no.) .. then we'll see whether is there any stock ROM available for your device.

You needed to make sure you have the latest GPE software, s-off and supper cid... Also you need to know and have ADB/FASTBOOT installed on your PC.. All which can be found throughout all of the various threads.... Right now you soft bricked your device and needed to return to stock... And stay the process over.

You don't "need" the latest gpe software. The rom runs fine on the latest sense firmware.

Issue Resolved!
Hello Everyone.
The issue is resolved. Through many flashes, wipes and commands. Its done. I was able to flash the rom, let the rom sit for ~20mins, and it finally booted up into Lollipop. I now have no wifi. However, I should be able to follow the FAQ to get S-OFF and fix my wifi!. Thanks team. I really appreciate it.
Hi,
I have a huge problem with my One M8, heres are the details:
I bought my M8 from a well known seller on eBay Germany (rebuy.de) in February or March 2015... they had listed it as a software modified phone. I bought it having known that, I'd fix it using help from xda. When I fist checked it, it had a corrupted OS... I checked it's CID, it was T-MOM101 (Telekom Germany). After searching for a RUU everywhere I realised there was none. I installed a custom recovery, downloaded a TWRP nandroid Lollipop backup and the matching Lollipop firmware for T-MOB101 from a german site, unlocked bootloader and finally Nandroid restored the device. It booted up into the OS and I was happy for getting it running.
My joy was not to last long.... Rondom apps started crashing like crazy on the installed latest Lollipop firmware 4.19.111.2 ( S-ON M8). Got app crashing messages daily.... I had to reboot to get them working again but after some time another random app crashed then I had to reboot again or update that particular app if an update is available, to get it working again.
So far I've tried the original sense rom (TWRP Restore), many custom roms (ViperOne M8, Google Play Edition ROM, InsertCoin SkyDragon etc)... non seemed to be stable for my M8.
I had had enough, I thought by converting to SuperCID and restoring a WWE RUU would liberate me from my misery, so I went on to purchase the SunShine S-Off. I S-Off'd my M8 and restored using the RUU. Didn't help
Same behaviour persists on the WWE Rom too... app crashes driving me crazy... feel like throwing the M8 out of my window
Is there a genius who could help me fix my M8? Would really like to enjoy the M8.
Thanks in advance.

Every time I flash a rom, I use TWRP to wipe everything, even the internal storage and also use the format: "yes" option.
I just downgraded to KitKat 4.4.4 WWE using a RUU, lets see how this rom treats me.
I also heared about the issue, that high version jumps may cause problems, too. You could try to flash the official RUUs in chronological order. Starting with the oldest version to the latest...
Good luck!
I was trying to install custom rom on my unlocked HTC One M8 and I probably messed up somewhere along the way.
My phone is rooted and S-off. Its got twrp version 2.7.0.2 (if it matters).
I was trying to install skydragon gpe ROM.
This is how my process went : First I backed up my current rom on an SD card (The HTC version with sense and lollipop) and did a factory reset on my phone and tried to install Skydragon for M8.
Soon as I started the process, it said install failed. This is the image i57.tinypic.com/15h6iq.jpg
I tried another rom. Same thing. Failed. I've tried some 5 or 6 roms so far. Nothing works.
To make things worse, when I restore my previous backup (HTC Sense version), it does go through all the way, says its successful.
But, on reboot, the phone is stuck in the HTC One logo and does not proceed at all.
Now my phone isn't usable at all.
Any suggestion helps.
Please help.
Or you need to update the firmware or you need to update the TWRP ! 2.7 is very old !
How do I update twrp without an OS on the phone.
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm new to all this.
I tried to update my firmware but all the instructions I found on the web needed an OS installed on the phone.
May be I'm doing it wrong. I have mac to work with or a windows computer with no USB 2.0 ( I only have 3.0 USB). And those instructions say its not 3.0 compatible.
Could someone please post a link that could help me. I tried but could not find one.

It worked!
Finally !!! Don't know how I did it but it worked. I somehow managed to update the twrp recovery (which was what was apparently hindering the OS install in the first place). And then I went ahead and flash my custom rom. And this time it worked flawlessly.
Thanks guys
Hi,
First time to post a question. Please, be patient.
Problems:
1. Fast boot goes into AC (no usb, so no connection with the laptop)
2. Camera not working
What I've done:
1. Flashed TWRP 2.8.4
2. Flashed custom ROMs with no back up (stupid I know)
3. Flashed the Beatmod ROM, then tried to go back to custom ROMs last was [OTA ZIP+TWRP] HTC Desire Eye 2.19.401.1 STOCK Europe 5.0.2 Lollipop, all haven't sorted the issue
3. Flashed the 0PFHIMG firmware, no differece
2 things I've noticed as well while doing these trials: the TWRP says no MD5 file found and when tried to flash crdroid-5.1.1-20151003-eyeul it said your device is M8.
Would really appreciate ur help
bricked, same as me, is because we dint have s-off, just return back to stock with RUU.exe program idk
