Help! Looking for stock rom desire 816x Australia. A5_UL. - Desire 816 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Previously unlocked the bootloader and rooted. Chainfire Supersu has full unroot option but it's not working, so I have since relocked bootloader and want to reflash stock rom as mms has not worked since rooting. Hours of searching has not turned up an aussie rom so I m hoping someone can turn up something I've missed, and relevant how to's. Thanks in advance

Were you able to find a ROM cause i need it.. I have the same device HTC desire 816x A5 UL. I've softbrick my phone trying to flash root and my phone hasnt been able to turn on ever since. I was able to relock bootloader

Did OTA brocked my htc one x?

here's the situation
i have recently bought refurbished htc one x
i wanted to update it with offical jelly bean update it showed me
th update downloaded and i proceed to install it, i was a long time on the installing icon so i left my phone, when i got back it wouldnt turn on like the batery was empty
before doing the update it showed around 50% so i wasnt thinking about it, but it seems i died during the update
now - i cannot turn my phone on, its stuck on htc logo, i can access bootloader mode, it says i have hboot 1,12
radio 5.1204.162,29
the bootloader is locked
could someone tell me in simple steps how to bring it alive? is it even possible?
I havent flashed my one x in a while, but try charge it as much as you can while in recovery or bootloader mode.
Then try unlocking the bootloader using htcdev and Hasoons all in one toolkit from the dev section.
That will help you get a custom recovery installed and allow you to reinstall another firmware.
Not sure how much you already know so I apologise if this is basic info haha.
Also dont forget to flash the boot.img if you go with a custom rom
Good luck

Return it for repair if you can. Unlocking bootloader is the hard way out if you ask me.

A ruu might be a way out, but it's a long shot because the ruu doesn't need a unlocked bootloader.

Try this first.
I completely forgot about RUUs. You need to get the one that matches your CID

Sending it for repair isnt really an option as i bought the device and now im leaving the uk.
so they would send it back to me as ill be in another country.
also i opened it as i had the anthena problem but i solved it.
software speaking, as that is the problem, is it harf to fix?
i had couple of androids and customized all of them, but im new to htc and all that ruu,cids...
i dont mind custom rom, right now i just want to recover any functionality.
So if the ruu is the easiest way out is there a newbie tutorial? as i cant find it
and is unlocking the bootloader, flashing a custom recovery ans rom is so complicated to other devices?
i dont.know.what do you nean by flashing boot.img while flashing rom
When you run an ruu the computer end of it walks you through what to do. Make sure you have latest version of htc sync installed and do exactly what it says. Also returning it is the best option under normal circumstances. I did exactly that when ota wrecked my shift

[Q] Got so far.. Whats next?

Hi all
Im unbranding my O2 UK locked M8 to an unbranded UK one (with offical Htc 501 rom), so Ive done quite alot of reading around and followed guides
- Ive SIM Unlocked my device
- Ive successfully unlocked bootloader through HTCDev using Adb
- Ive installed and am running TWRP 2840
- Ive rooted with SuperSU
From what ive read.. AM I Right in thinking the next steps are:
S-Off and SuperCID with Sunshine (Firewater is no more)
Install Stock 1.54.401.10 through TWRP
Install Stock Recovery
Reboot
UPdate OTA to 501.
Any advice guides or help will be greatly appeciated.
Cheers all
1. S-OFF
2. Change CID to HTC__001
3. Flash 4.16.401.10 RUU
4. Done, no more o2 gumpf!
Thanks for the guide, I installed Sunshine 284 (latest, but it says that its not compatible with my device yet and theyre working on it,
My device is running LP 501 from O2, so maybe I need to wait for SDunshine 3.
Oh well
Ive done a factory reset and Ill just use the phone until SS 3 comes out.. or is there another way to S-Off from LP 501.
What effect will Factory reseting at this point have have...
I can still see SuperSU in my apps, but Sunshine app has gone..
I also assume the bootloader unlock is a permanent thing, so I just pickup where i left off ...
S-Off
If you're on 5.0 now then you'll have to wait for SS to be updated, hopefully it won't be too long! A factory reset now will just reset the phone, nothing else. And yes, bootloader will remain unlocked unless you lock it again

Cheers. I did try the last firewater update, but adb reboot, just restarts the phone. I was thinking of manually getting into fastboot then taking it from there, but didnt want to chance a brick
Ill just wait for SS 3
Do you know.. since rooting und unlocking the M8... its running better than it was, faster and smoother...

Question about RUU restore

I want to return my girlfriends htc one m9 (att) to stock. It currently has TWRP on it, and bootloader is unlocked. If I flash an RUU, will it replace the recovery with stock(which is what I want)? I've been searching for an answer and getting a bunch of almost results but not quite what I'm after. So if I flash an RUU, will it return the entire phone to stock? or just the rom? I know I'll have to manually relock the bootloader.

By flashing a RUU, your HTC One M9 will be like brand new.
All applications will be deleted, root access will be lost and everything will be on default state.

I believe you'll need to grab the system image from someone that backed it up and restore that way? I'm not sure as I'm new to this device.
Sent from my HTC 10 using XDA-Developers mobile app
both stock tmobile recovery and rom are in the stickied guide to root/recovery. I just recently sent my device back for warranty replacement.
stock recovery is here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67248508&postcount=505 and stock rom is in OP.

[Solved] HTC M9 bricked during update

Solved.
I flashed the 3.35.401.12 RUU according to Flippy498's guide
https://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/general/stock-nand-backup-ota-update-collection-t3132698 (Thread #5)
All the Phone data was wiped during the process.
shivadow and computerslayer thanks again for your help
Hello,
My friend's HTC M9 got bricked during the new Nougat update (was turned off during update).
Ever since it is bootlooping, in can put it in Bootloader and Download mode but can't load it to recovery mode.
Tried to flash the stock recovery via download mode but the phone is S-ON and locked.
What are my options in getting the phone back to life (gave up on saving any of the data on the device)?
Any help will be appreciated.
P.S.
First time handeling HTC but have a lot of experience with nexus devices
Device info:
HTC M9 himauhl
S-ON,
Locked,
OS - 3.35.401.32
You need to run the ruu.exe but I don't know if one exists for your version. You can flash any 3.35.401.xx ruu but those that aren't "xx" must match. Not sure you can flash a signed zip in s-on state..
If the ruu.exe doesn't exist then you'll either have to wait for it to be released or rtm for repair.
There is no actual way to know exactly how buggered the phone is because it died in the middle of a flash process. It is very possible it died just as it was flashing recovery, explaining why there isn't one, but I wouldn't like to bet money on it, or it being recoverable at all.
Beamed in by telepathy.

You've access to download mode, so you should be able to use the SD card method of applying the matching RUU. Check out the readme thread for instructions and the necessary file.
Thanks for your help shivadow and computerslayer,
I will look at the RUU method and try to learn more about it and replay if it worked or not.
I have the same problem and have tried everything but it's still bricked. If I send it in for repair will they charge me? My phone is out of warranty (it's 1.5 years old). Since their update caused this problem you would think they wouldn't make me pay. Thoughts?

If you unlocked bootloader, the warranty is void anyway.
Try flashing the stock rom which doesn´t need a unlocked bootloader via htc_fastboot.exe. Place the stock rom in your sd-card. Then in bootloader it will say directly "Do you want to flash xxx.img".

Those are two different methods: The SD card method and the htc_fastboot method (which requires a PC).
And it's actually the other way round. The htc_fastboot method requires a locked or at least re-locked bootloader whereas the SD card method can be used with an unlocked bootloader, as well.
