[Q] Rooted stock rom? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Is there a rooted stock rom of DOJ7 or DOJC that I am missing?
I like the stock look and just need some basic changes with root like ad block, teathering, and small build prop tweaks.
Or is the best way to get something like that is to flash the latest with odin and then odin UniKernel?
Is there a better kernel for this device that is more up to date or is that the only one?

only way rooted the firmware v5.1.1 is to use UniKernel.

Forced to OTA but rooted

alright so I'm being forced to update. no idea what I should do though. I've read that you have to be on a stock kernel (Eg30). where do I go from here? both my baseband and kernel have EG30 in there amongst other numbers but I am rooted. any help would be great!
It depends.
What method did you use to root and did you make any other changes to your ROM (/system) or Kernel?
I used Odin and I don't think I changed anything.

[Q] Quick kt747 kernel questions

I want to install a custom kernel on my Rogers Galaxy S3. I am currently running a rooted STOCK ROM. Which means I am still running Android 4.1.1.
I have been looking at this kernel here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1756776 (I am using the Touchwiz JELLYBEAN version)
Here are my questions
1) I shouldn't have any issue using my device with this kernel right? I mean it's outlined pretty clearly but I don't want a nice $600 paperweight. I am running 4.1.1 on my device using a rooted stock ROM. (touchwiz)
2) WARNING: This kernel has updated WIFI and Bluetooth drivers. If you are going back to stock, you need to get those drivers back or those 2 devices will not work. Simply flashing a kernel will not do it unless it also flashs back those drivers (they are in "/system/lib/modules" folder).
What exactly does this mean? If I do a CWMR and restore back to the previous kernel, what will happen? What happens when I want to revert my phone back to stock? Do I just use Odin3 and load the stock S3 ROM and the kernel and drivers will be installed? Or do I have to do a special process to get WiFi and Bluetooth working again?
Also, this won't trip the flash counter will it?
I really appreciate your help guys, thanks so much .

[Q] Questions for EL26

I want to root my uncles phone and install a custom ROM. He is on 2.3.0 and Modem EL26. Would I be able to flash Odin EL29 with root and then install a custom Android 4.4 ROM? I don't want to brick it. Also what is a good solid ROM no camera errors or stuff like that. A fully working Kit Kat or Jelly Bean ROM is what I am looking for. I simply just want to upgrade his phone to a better Android OS. It's a Sprint SPH-D710.
Any help much appreciated.
Edit: Update: I now have EL26 with CWM
Edit: Ok so how do I update from EL26? What is the best modem for JB or KitKat? Do I need to be on a certain modem before I install a ROM or can I flash a 4.4 ROM from EL26? I have Philz recovery. I want to flash liquid smooth rom
Edit: I guess no one wants to help me lol. I'm on Liquid smooth on FL27. CPU is kinda high and it freezes sometimes. I need to play with the CPU performance I guess. Everything else works fine

[Q] Updating a already Rooted Galaxy S3 that's on 4.1?

I rooted my dad's phone a while back ago so he can use tethering in case of emergencies etc. He recently got a smart watch and I wanted to updated it so that he can use it. But it has not been touched since that day. I essentially want rooted stock rom, I'm unaware of where to find that the closest I can find is StockMod kitkat. Which seems to not work on ATT phones? I just want to make sure that I don't brick his only phone on christmas. So is there something I should be aware of?
His model is SGH-i747
Baseband
i747UCDLK3
Build number
jro03
So how do I go about upgrading it? Can I just flash TWRP and flash any rom using TWRP?
I found this, so I should install new TWRP, then flash a specified kernel then flash rom? would this be safe route?
Some of the latest ROMs require a 4.4.2 bootloader and modem.
The simplest and safest way to get the latest bootloader may be to flash back to unrooted stock 4.1.1 and run OTA updates until the phone is running the latest KK ROM. You can then flash TWRP or CWM and a custom ROM.

Would this require flashing with ODIN? I just want it so that it works with root is not required anymore.
Yes, you would flash the 4.1.1 stock ATT ROM via Odin. I prefer Odin 3.07.
You cannot install OTA updates with root.
You can try flashing just the bootloader and modem but I prefer the long slow route of OTA updates.
I rather do it this way, manually so my dad can enjoy it today. I was wondering how can I update it's TWRP? it's at 2.3 but the TWRP manager keeps crashing when I update it.
I highly recommend the latest d2lte version of Philz Touch for recovery.

Ok I ****ed up, flash that kernel and did whatever and bam ****ed up. Not working... ****, I still ahve download mode and Recovery but it will not boot into the OS. I get a flash of samsung and then nothing else happends...****
I decided to flash stock DLK3 in odin. Then let the updates take it course (my dad doesn't need root) Where Can I find the file?
The stock ATT firmware is on sammobile.com.
If you want root, OTA to the latest 4.4.2, install Philz, flash supersu via recovery.

[Q] Best way to get DOJC and root firmware flash or custom rom

Hello All,
I am currently looking at different ways to try and update my device to dojc or doj7. Right now it is on DOH6 and seems like I have a few random glitches with the way it works and crashes. I am rooted currently with engineering bootloader with a custom recovery. I am thinking of one of two paths and wondering what might be the better of the two options in your opinion.
First, create a firmware file to flash with Odin that does not have the bootload file in it and flash that. Then root the device again the same way I did with the DOH6 root method and engineering bootloader. Stay on that install from Samsung and just root it.
Second, install a custom rom with that new version as a base (I think I remember seeing some stock rooted roms). and then upgrade the modem only with odin. Not sure if there is anything else other that the modem that would need to be updated with Odin.
I am just not sure if that second option would work if the firmware is too different to work with it. Any opinions on which might be the better option? How have you been able to update to DOJ7 or DOJC and root without worrying about Knox? And input would be greatly appreciated.
Couldn't you just flash a custom Rom and flash the new modem with Odin?
Would that work okay guys? I think that should be fine and leave the bootloader on 5.0 engineering and it won't trip Knox.
