Hey everyone
Looks like my F400K has an update available, although I can't apply it as I've rooted my G3
Does anyone know how I can apply this update? I've tried using PC Suite however it says no update is available.
Any help would be great!

I would say you would need to unroot and/or find a modified package you can flash through recovery on a rooted device. If you want to return to stock there are the required files in the Dev forum.

Thanks guys - I saw that thread, but as far as I can tell, that will wipe my device? Was hoping to unroot my phone somehow without losing everything
Have you tried super su.... It has a setting for survival mode to use like that but don't know if it will work or not.....think you need pro for though

If it has......... not for sure.
lol
I've tried without OTA survival mode, with OTA survival mode, and even went as far as to fully unroot. Still said that the device is suspected of rooting after several reboots...
Try a factory reset next, see if that is enough, otherwise the only option will be to reflash the stock rom. Please keep us updated.

Listening in. Many of us will have the same problem.
Yes there's a new software update just released too. Hide my root doesn't work.

What model number?
400k
If you´re using towelroot or installing busybox those will leave pretty lot of files behind in system etc.
I imagine those left behind will possibly make an update a bit harder.
Model 400S received minor OTA though I'm rooted

Generally it's not root that stops a ota it's the missing or frozen system files etc

Now that I think of it, that could be my issue, I've made a few modifications and froze certain apps. That explains why a full unroot wouldn't work. I'll have to do a full backup and restore later. I'm just hoping that the OTA fixes the Chromecast crashing issues.
To unroot do. Uninstall allt root stuff and unroot with supersu, unfreeze. Use LG support tool to reinstall firmware to get rid of busybox stuff. I tried this last night and all my software is still there but my system I reinstalled. Should... Be able to take ota

Was this via the repair option, the one that said "remove update errors" or similar?
Like the question ask. Can unlocking be done on a rooted g3 running a custom ROM?

Probably but it couldn't hurt to make a backup and go back to a stock based rom before requesting the unlock. After the unlock just swap back to your backup.

thanks, I was leaning that way to do it. I don't think root would be an issue with putting unlock code in.
Yes there is an app in the market to unlock rooted phones
I have rooted 815 with 10b eur software and it seems like the new 10c update might help with the bluetooth issues. I tried to update before root but no update available in my country at that time. Now how could I update my phone to 10c the easiest way? I assume I would have to reset and reroot the phone in the process. Or can I just ota and reroot?

No need to do a fullwipe/factory reset.
You get the latest KDZ and flash it - if you do it right you should not loose any data.
But you will loose root for sure and you need to reroot.
As far as I read OTA won't work on rooted phones and unrooting seems not enough - you must either flash a KDZ or use LG Bridge for the Update.

I am trying to get my phone unrooted but a bit confused about the process. I am running h81010g rooted on my LG-H810 AT&T G4. I know there's a thread about using KDZ & TOT methods, but there isn't anything available for at&t phones. Any idea how to get back unrooted?
My reason for wanting the phone unrooted is cause of lack of any development for the att version, i would rather have later updates than wait around on an older firmware (not that att gets out updates in a timely fashion).
Use the same process you used to root with. The image you want to install is the UNrooted h81010g

Thanks,
I was trying to avoid using the PR firmware because it appears that there is no return to at&t software once this is done. I would prefer to return to at&t firmware unrooted if possible
Uninstall all root apps before flashing unrooted.img file or just flash then factory reset?
Will a factory reset cause the phone to lose root or not? I'm going to be selling the phone shortly and was curious if I perform a factory reset will it retain root or not. Thanks
It should not lose the root, but if you want a clean phone flash a stock kdz and it should be as clean as new one...
