5.1.1 Tether? - T-Mobile LG G3

Currently Running Blisspop and unable to get tethering to work. Either from within the rom itself or with apps off the play store. It always tells me that there's no internet connection. I'm also unable to switch from ip6 to ip4. Doing so causes me to lose data completely. Is this a LP issue or a rom issue?

ROM issue or phone issue. Tether certainly works for thousands of folks on many different roms. I suggest you ask in the Blisspop Q&A thread. Good luck!

You need to be a bit more detailed than that. What rom are you using? When did you initially notice the problem? Is there a built-in adblocker associated with the tom you're using? If so, it is very possible that the host file is outdated. To remedy it, you need to download and install the adfree app from the market. Start the app and select either revert (ads) or update host file (no ads) and then reboot your device. This *is* the fix for many internet related problems with several custom roms. This *may* fix your issue.

[Q] Android 4.2 broke tether

anyone haev their tether working on 4.2? wifi tether, built in tether, and all other 3rd party apps dont work anymore. it was working on 4.1.2 but not on 4.2.
Wifi-tether working straight away here, I just enabled it and my computer connected straight away.
I did however install 4.2 with a full wipe, it seems people using the OTA have had plenty of bugs non of which I've experienced.

Mines not working :crying:
Seems to be a common problem over at the Wireless Tether for Root Users development site :-/
I use it a ton and miss it badly.
mine seems to be broken too how weird

any update on this? works on macs but not windows or xbox.
I was using a AOKP ROM with lean kernel (4.1.x) and wifi tethering was working fine.
I then went to 4.2.1 and 4.2.2, WiFi tethering so far has been broken.
I tried Bigxie's deoxed, tried Android Revolution HD 10.x, and Rootbox's 4.2.2 nightly with the same result where WiFi tethering doesn't work. In my case, the client that is trying to connect will connect, IP is assigned but it won't be able to access the internet.
The ROM flashing were a full wipe, as well as dirty wipe - made no difference.
I was using Pdanet on a USB tether and it no longer works after update. My phone is totally stock with no mods. I did a factory wipe and reinstalled everything and still a no go. PC is a Windows 7 box with all associated drivers reinstalled. Contacted June fabrics (Pdanet Dev) about it and they think its a driver issue.

I also have these threads gpoing on it. Though you will get better support here than at the Google Dev forums.

For anyone that is interested, I got an email from PDAnet yesterday that says they have fixed the problem with a new PC side software install. I don't know if this helps any of you but there is a fix out there at least for PDAnet.

Internet connection issue/VPN

Good afternoon. Recently I have been having connectivity issues. I believe with cm10.18/13/13 and cm10.28/14/13. I have been unable to connect to tapatalk(sometime) and the play store without using a VPN. Disconnecting from VPN I can still access the internet/ get data. I did a clean flash for cm10.2 and have been flashing dirty with cm10.1 up until the thirteenth without having internet access problems. I have the radio included with the ROM and the latest ril from the baseband thread if that makes a difference. Any references you could point me to or help would be hit with a thanks.
Edit- OK, I want to take back just two apps not accessing data, on cell network most apps don't go through.

[q] cm 10.2 -> cm11

Hey guys,
I was wondering if I could go from CM 10.2 to CM11 while keeping the same apps that I have? I paid for some apps like wolfram alpha among other things and I'd like to be able to keep it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2562988
Also, I noticed that there are GAPPS for 4.4, 4.4.1, and 4.4.2.
Which one would be appropriate for CM 11?
http://goo.im/devs/BaNkS/GApps
Finally, on 10.2, I've been getting an issue saying "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped" anytime I enable the sprint tower and disable airplane mode. I've been using this phone as my portable tablet, and I have not activated it but I'm planning on joining Ringplus in the future. Anyone know why?
Edit: Some apps require you to have your sprint tower connected, like Madden 25. Also, I was trying to update my PRL for ringplus, but it looks like I need to flash my phone back to stock huh?
Thanks.

Apps are tied to your account. if you paid for them through the play store you're good; otherwise check with the developer.
The phone issue was a none bug there are guides to fix it in the 10.2 thread.
You need to be on stock to update PRL and Profile. Get a GPS lock while you're there too. Backup EFS and save it somewhere.

[Q] CWM Recovery Not Working

I am trying to root my AT&T S3 i747 OS-4.3. I followed the instructions to flash CWM Recovery from this website http://www.theandroidsoul.com/lates...tt-galaxy-s3-sgh-i747-android-4-4-compatible/ but it doesn't seem to work. In Odin3 it says that it passed but when i try to boot up CWM recovery it still boots up android recovery. Any suggestions or another route to root my phone that doesn't require a wipe? My end goal is to install a tether app that works on phone. I currently have FoxFi but the update to 4.3 broke the wifi mode.

Once you are on 4.3, the common methods of rooting don't always work. You may, however, try method #2 posted in the thread below. I have found that to always work. Using this option will not wipe your data but you are advised to back up frequently. Also before rooting your phone, I would suggest you check to be sure that is really necessary. Most apps, including non Play Store apps, can be installed simply by going to your phone settings and enabling installing of apps from other sources. Root would be required primarily for apps or installations that make changes to your phone's OS.

No, that's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that a Wi-Fi tether app (or any other app for that matter) may still work on an unrooted phone as long as it doesn't need to make changes to your phone's operating system. Wi-Fi tethering from Open Garden inc, for instance, is available as an app from the play store and this can be installed on an unrooted phone.

Ok i understand now. Do you happen to know if Wi-Fi tethering from Open Garden inc works on the i747 on Android 4.3?
I was able to root my phone but i am unable to find a WiFi tether app that works on i747 OS 4.3 root. Any suggestions?
