I starting a gaming a little on my Note 4 and noticed the phone got very warm thru the case.
Battery Monitor shows the temperature was between 35c and 36c for about 30 minutes.
Is this too hot?
What is the normal temperatures for the battery and CPU for this Phone?
Googling did not locate the answer for me
Thanks
It will get hot when you play games but it will slow down or power off if it gets to hot.. if you have a case on it try taking it off when playing games

What are your average temperatures on your Desire? On standby mode, heavy usage (movies, gaming), charging and so on. I'm a bit worried about mine. It usually idles at 28-30 degrees C and gets up to 38 on heavy usage, maybe 39.
I also wanted to calibrate my phone using this method, but I never get passed 4182mV, a few months ago I was able to get 4197. The phone also seems to be pretty hot, even when it does nothing.
The battery usage is ok, I don't have any apps that are using the CPU in the background.
And I used an undervolted kernel, running at 875mV at 245MHz.
playing ROBODEFENSE for 20 minutes or more gets my desire very heated.
so much so that it shuts off
is there an app or similar that can show me the temp of the phone?
You can view the temp of the battery which can give you an indication.
If your phones are overheating, send them to HTC and they should get repaired.
I just checked and my phone idles at like 25c and I played RoboDefence for a whole level at lvl 100 and got 35c. To be honest, it felt warm and not hot. I've had it hotter than that but never had a reboot issue.

I seem to be getting the same temps, but I still have the mV issue. I can never go above 4182mV and I can't properly calibrate the battery. The phone also dies at 11-12%, when I bought it it was dieing at 0%.
Sometimes, the phone is charging and it shows 87-88% for some minutes, and suddenly it jumps to 100%, I guess that would be the loss of 12% when my phone turns off. I wiped battery stats when I was at 100% and no luck. I am using latest snq's kernel for leedroid ROM.
Maybe a naff battery?
Yeah agreed.it can get hot at times but if it rebooted better sent it for a check

the phone has to heat up especially when you play games that use a lot of cpu and gpu...
but idk is it normal to heat it to 45 and more... i think that 50 degrees is a MAX that may happen, and that reffers to battery heat? I mean its just going to shorten life of battery, extremely ... and about processor i think u dont have to worry... it can stand some heat ... i have read that temps went over 70,80 celsius on the phone, and they were still running fine. Of course its not recommended, as you can guess
I don't think that it will be a problem. I have my phone running that hot for four months already when charging, and when not plugged in it also easily reaches 40c. When I dial *#*#4636#*#* my battery health is still good. Also note that on the back of the battery it says that the max operating temperature is 60c.

Never looked at the back of the battery that closely, that clears my doubts.
Just wondering, my tablet doesn't seem to have good battery when on screen time with power saving on.
It's like 10% per 30 minute drain when browsing or playing gta san andreas.
And 10% per 25 mins while sketching.
All of these with the least brightness possible.
Whilst I just performed a battery antutu tester and the result was like 20% per hour max brightness and wifi.
I aslo have battery doctor.optimizer installed.
It was like it from the start. But I didn't noticed it much.
P600 4.4 xxund2.
I get the worst battery life when playing games, likely similar to your findings. And the corner where the S-Pen is, gets very hot when playing games. If it was just playing games I am getting about 3-4 hours of on screen time.
However when I am watching online video or browsing the web, battery life is much better.

It is okay now ( I suppose) after a full charge cycle, 100-0 and 0-100
The gaming usage today was like 3 and half hours with 12% screen brightness and it lasted like from 100 to 51%. And the usage was continuous. (But with power saving on).
So I got this phone 2 days ago and I love it except for the battery.Anyways, the battery temp while charging is 34c is this normal?(37c while writing this in chrome)And I noticed that battery drains pretty quickly while gaming(like clash of clans)and hot from the back-top.So is this normal?n
Yes, this is normal. Having the screen on while charging will make it even warmer. Be aware that the phone charges more slowly when the battery rises above roughly 90F/32C, so keeping the phone cool will help with charging speed. Mine will drop from the max of 1600mA with the stock charger, to about 300mA, as the temperature reaches the low-90's F.
Thanks for the reply!
Yeah I noticed that. When ive put the phone in an air conditioned room, battery tempreture decrased to 31.5c and the voltage increased to 4300 mV.But I did a research and found that li ion max voltage is 4.2v anything up is dangerous unless the battery got some sort of overvoltage protection. So should I be worried?
No. Mine charges to 4.4V. I'm comfortable that this is a safe value for the battery.
If LG had it dangerously overcharging every single battery, that would be incredibly irresponsible. I'm sure they picked a safe voltage.
Guys - what app/s are you using to measure. I use Ampere but is there any better?
Thanks.
Just go to the hidden menu by dialing *#*#4636#*#*
That doesn't show the charging Ma?
Hi guys
I'm gonna ask this straight, my phone sometimes when playing games or using 4G gets a little bit hot, not so hot that it gets uncomfortable, but the battery's temp reaches almost 40°C. Is that something that I should be worried about? As I heard that high battery temps can reduce battery life with time and might even permanently damage the battery.
thanks
40°C is not HOT
Don't worry.
With your usage that is a normal temperature. Use a case if its too uncomfortable for you.
No worries. 5x runs cooler than most devices. Also our skin temperature is around 34C.
