Hey guys! I have recently unlocked the bootloader for my LG G4 but I don't like how when I boot, it shows that the bootloader is unlocked in the top left hand side because now the phone looks a lot less professional.
[I would attach a picture of what I mean if you don't get what I'm trying to say but since I'm a new member, it won't allow me]
Yeah, I've been wondering the same thing. What I would like even more is if there was a way to change the boot screen completely.
Can't hide it :good:
this guy claims doing it try and report my model isnt unlocked so i cant try
otherwise it can't (no one got it yet)

I have a question. I've had my GNex for a few days now, and was reading some threads about unlocking / rooting, like for Revolution HD. I decided to try the bootloader, and one of the first things I noticed was that the phone -already- said "Lock State - Unlocked" in red at the bottom. I keep seeing threads on how to unlock this, but don't understand why that is necessary if it comes already in unlocked state? Are different batches different lock state by default? This is a LTE VZW version.

It *should* come locked by default, but some people have unlocked ones right out of the box.
When it boots up, at the Google logo you should also see an unlocked icon at the bottom.
But yes, it is supposed to come locked
I'm fairly certain I didn't try running anything until I had checked that, so it's possible mine was. Looks like it doesn't make much of a difference when you can unlock them as easy as you can, but hey.
Hey guys,
I am just about to buy a used LG G4, but I do not want to buy it if the bootloader was already tampered with.
Is there a quick way without any computer to verify that is it still locked?
If that is the case there should be no (normal people) way to install any malicious software that survives a factory reset, should it?
Kind regards,
Rn

When you turn on the phone,if the bootloader is unlocked,in the upper left part of the screen will be written "Bootloader is unlocked!"
Otherwise, you'll see just the Lg logo
Sent from my LG G4
nice : )
So a normal boot would be enough to check. Pretty neat, at least in this case ^^ Not so much when you bring it to the store
Hi Everyone;
I have a few questions:
I am trying to unlock the bootloader for my nephews LG G4 but it seems like there is no way of doing it.
I followed the official method, entered the IMEI number and the DEVICE ID but I get a warning that they do not match and that we have X tries remaining before device gets locked. Right now it's sitting at 7 more tries remaining.
He had the bootloop issue a few months ago (phone wasn't unlocked or rooted or anything), sent it to LG, they fixed it and sent it back. The only explanation I can find is that the DEVICE ID doesn't match the IMEI number anymore because of them changing hardware? I really don't understand why the official method doesn't work or keeps saying that Device ID does not match your PHONE!
Anyway, I tried to root without unlocking the bootloader, and that didn't work either.
Is there a way to unlock this damn device without the official method?
If there isn't... Does using the One-Click-Root method work with this phone? He doesn't want to pay $80 AUD not knowing whether or not it will work...
Also all of this, just to fix the GPS Locking problem that HOPEFULLY would work if we change ROMS. Is there a way to fix the GPS problem without unlocking, rooting, and changing ROMS?
Send mail to LG about yours problem, they will send unlock bin
I had the same problem

Hi everyone. My device just came back from lg, and apparently I've got a brand new mother board. There is a problem though: my rpmb is gone (fastboot states "no rpmb" right next to the secure boot string), and I guess that is what makes my device fail to unlock its bootloader. Now, doing a little searching on the net, what I get is that really little people also encountered this problem, and ALL of them seem to have sent their device to lg from Italy (as have I). Have I got any chance to fix it? Or maybe just take it back to lg for a check? What could I possibly say to them?
Note that I know pretty well how to unlock bootloaders under normal circumstances, as I have already unlocked many nexus devices of mine in the past, so that is not the problem.
Hey there! I found a solution to get root access, here's my post on Reddit about it:

Hope this helps!

I'm unsure how the -02 version ( Verizon version) could have an unlocked bootloader because Verizon keeps it locked down. In other Verizon moto phones, it takes Dev software like sunshine to make this happen and doubt they have provided this (and likely won't).
Please show proof via screenshot, would like to see how you got bootloader unlocked.

Put your phone in bootloader mode by powering off, then holding the power button and volume down button at the same time. It should show a black screen with a robot with red ! above (dead Andy). About 3rd line from bottom, it will say locked or unlocked. Let me know what that says or take a pic of the screen with another device and post it.
