Hi to all,
I've decided to create this thread in order to discuss this amazing sound MOD and the possible problems/ difficulties that we got in order to install it in our G4.
Currently the MOD is in version 7.0.3 but it's not compatible with G4 MM ROM's.
I've tried several ways to install with no luck, sometimes it's stops starting system or after the phone boot, there is no sound app installed.
I'm running Genisys 3.4 ROM (because had a lot of problem with the installation on 3.5) and running the MOD version 6.0 (I've not tried 6.2 because of some report about bad bass, and 6.0 has an amazing sound to me).
When reporting our case, please mention SO version (LP, MM, etc), ROM (stock, CM, genisys), busybox app, SElinux profile and superuser version, in order to understand and help each others!
I'd love assistance/advice as well. I'm attempting to install Xtreme Music on my VS986 ( Verizon G4) and can't find any direct instructions.

Hi guys.
Here is a port from CyanogenMod's new DSP manager called AudioFX, present in CM11S (for the OnePlus One) and also in CM12 and the ROMs based on it.
Installing this is simple. Just download the flashable zip which is proper for your Android version and flash it via custom recovery.
Notes:
1. Do a nandroid backup before flashing. I'm being serious. Do NOT skip this step.
2. KitKat version tested only on the Moto G running stock 4.4.4.
Lollipop version was tested on same device running GPE 5.0.1.
Works with Motorola stock roms too, regardless of being odexed or deodexed.
Might also work on other Moto devices such as the Moto E (1st gen, maybe 2nd gen too), G 2nd gen, X (both generations), and Droid Turbo / Moto Maxx. However, I CANNOT guarantee that it'll actually work.
3. This will remove DSPManager, AOSP MusicFX or Motorola AudioEffects if one of them is already installed.
4. As a protection measure, the flashable zips have an Android version check function in their scripts. So be sure to download the right version or it'll refuse to install.
Lollipop version originally based on @eng.stk's zip for the Nexus 5 -- original thread is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/themes-apps/mod-cm-dspmanager-universal-zip-t2939933
And thanks to the very first author, the CyanogenMod team. Huge kudos to them.
Changelog
Version 1.0
— Initial release.
Version 1.0r1
— Revised updater-script - goodbye gigantic alert text
— Now removes Motorola's AudioEffects too, which causes conflicts with this app and causes Settings FC's
Changelog moved to OP.
Reserved #2.

but wait till i upload version 1.1, because i put a wrong file in version 1.0 for lollipop
edit: version 1.0 is safe to download, i thought the audio effects config file was wrong but its okay. you can download and flash it
Does this make the bass sound same as it was on the other phones?
Because on my XT1032 running CM11 & CM12 it made no effect. I was hearing damn 100-150 Hz bass sound instead of 50-60 Hz.
Can somebody test and report please.

Hold on. I'll test here and fix if i can. Btw, how do you measure that frequency?
I distinguish that frequencies because of audio enthusiasm
That would be great if you can find a solution.
Tested the mod but again not satisfied with the bass sound.
The good old DSP Manager still rocks on my Sammy GT-I5500
Hi there!
It's been a long time (4 months) that i am trying to get Viper4Android working on my nexus 5X but still i couldn't.
I have tried like billions of zips, apks, ROMs, Kernels, and methods but none of 'em worked.
It's ridiculous to use the word "Charmed" in tech problems (logical problems) but it left no any other option for me )
-----------The List of Methods That I've Tried]-----------
ROMS: PureNexus, Cyanogenmod 13, Google's Stock Android 6, ResurrectionRemix, OmniROM.
Kernels: Stock Kernel, ElementalX, Franco, Phasma.
Zips: Viper4A-_Soundfix-LibFiles_-CWM.zip, Viper4A-_Build.Prop-Tweaks_-CWM.zip, LolliViPER.zip and many more.
APKS: Nearly All Versions and Editions of Viper4Android available on Marshmellow (A 4.x/FX/HiFi etc.)
Methods: Reflashing ROM, Reflashing The Whole Phone, Wiping Dalvik Cache and Cache, Disabling MusicFX, Audio_Effects.conf/Audio_Policy.conf modifications, Installing it as a system-app/normal app, Testing all of popular BusyBoxes, Installing BusyBox in both BIN and xBIN directories, Testing all of these one by one on a Fresh ROM, Testing all of these on another Nexus 5X
, Un-Rooting and Rerooting, Using SuperSu instead of ROM's stock root manager...
After trying all of these and wasting my time to get it work this i what i get:
Driver Version: 0.0.0.0
NEON Enabled: NO
Status: Abnormal
Processing: NO
Sample Rate: 0
I'll get ridiculously Happy if you could help me to get it work or even give me a clue to make it work, Thanks
V4A used to give me an issue a few months back but I haven't had any problems enabling it recently on Marshmallow or Nougat. The ARISE Sound link in my signature is V4A with a few other special codecs to make bluetooth audio sound awesome. Definitely top-notch. Flash in recovery and you're good to go. Haven't needed to run V4A in compatibility mode, tweak any files or settings. The only thing I do when I run V4A is disable MusicFX which can be found in the apps list with "Show system" enabled.
Get ViperAudio or ViperAtmos (whichever you like) and flash in TWRP. Working w/o issues on a configuration in my signature.
Hey guys, I've been having a problem with the N5X since I bought it. First thing I did when I bought it was to root it and change the ROM, of course. I installed BlissROM (don't remember which build) and ARISE Mod but everytime when I started playing a song (or when someone called me) the audio always started playing loud (as it should) but after a second or two it would lower itself (not the volume steps, just the speaker sound). At first I thought it was a problem with the ARISE mod so I tried without it but the sound was terrible, so I tried changing ROMs and I found that Resurrection Remix with Arise works without problems (the audio works perfectly). But now I've got the same problem if I try to update the ROM (I'm using 20160616 build) the audio starts lowering itself again and I'm stuck with Android 6.0.1 because of it. Can somebody tell me what is causing the problem so I can fix it ? I tried different ROMs, different kernels and different versions of ARISE without luck and I'm out of ideas. Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance
Umm, is there a compatibility chart with ROMs for ARISE? I use something different and that's Viper4Android that works slick with all Android M ROMs.
Suspect an issue with ARISE.

Yup, I tried V4A without ARISE, no luck.
Try going to TWRP Advanced and fix se Linux contents which does se Linux enforcing which will be needed for some mods.

Hello left m8 users.
i have a really big problem atm. i want to use android n roms, but on the most roms i tried i have a problem with the dialer. if i take a call or make a call i dotn get the call screen, where i can end or see how long i am talking with him. atm i tried the aoscp beta with nano ( and mini too ) gapps, the custom aa kernel, pixel launcher with bootanimations, the newest supersu beta and smejtas(???) m8 booster. i tried several roms like the aoscp 3.5.1, slim7, aokp and always get the same error.
if you have any help for fixing or getting logs please tell me
First, you could write here instead of making new thread, but it's okay
Try to give all permissions on the dialer app also YES on to modify the system settings. For me both works - stock one , that comes with the nougat roms and google one.

that only happens for me with pixel dialer
solved by set it as the default phone app in setting/apps
Did you came from S.Rom? I have dealt with this situation by using the ADSP switcher
Hey guys,
was anybody of you able to install ViPER4Android on HTC 10 7.0 Nougat?
There is an official Nougat version released, the apk run's perfectly, nonetheless the app everytime returns that the audio drivers need to be updated/installed. After pressing "yes", my phone tells me the audio drivers were installed and I need to reboot the phone.
After the reboot the same message that there is the need to install the sound drivers?! Tried it a few times now.
And yes, my phone is rooted.
... and would you say it would make a difference to install ViPER4Android even if the Boomsound of the HTC 10 is already pretty nice?!
Thanks guys....
Hi,
It is necessary the version 2.5.0.5 and in Zip, not in Apk!
Diverse file are needed to work.
It is integrated into my Rom Pyrana NO7-0.8 with Dolby.

In my honest opinion, A.R.I.S.E can do the same as what Viper4Android can do except it actually has huge device support.
I used to use it but I now don't need it due to an upgrade of the speakers I was connecting it to, works almost identically and can sometimes fix the secondary speaker that doesnt work on some ROMs. nothing third-party seems to be better optimized for boomsound though, the standard is usually the nicest sounding.
