Hello everyone. I was thinking of purchasing z1c in Jan, 2016. I have XGo currently, it has been my phone for around 3 years. The specifications offered by z1c are more than sufficient. I chose z1c because:
- No glass back
- Small screen (and) size
- Good Camera
- Good Battery (well most of the Xperia offer that, so not a distinct feature)
- Good processor
- Top class performance/money ratio
- Good reviews, no heating problem and very few cases of self-cracking glass
- Since it is old, I can get it around 22000 INR (~320 USD)
I am not a heavy user, I am planning to keep it for around 3 years, like I did with XGo, should I get it, or is there any alternative (under 25000 INR) for a durable and stable phone. Should I wait for a new launch ?

For the compact size, there's nothing else that comes close, (at least nothing with any development support}, besides the z3c and z5c. The only things you gain with those are official MM, and slight hw upgrade, for significant price increase. It's a drastic upgrade from XGo. I would go with it.

Thanks for replying, I know it's a huge upgrade from XGo, but I am a bit worried, because the phone was released 2 years ago, and I think it is about to go out of production and support. I don't really care about MM update, as long as stock 5.1 is stable enough (or can be made stable enough after rooting).
What are the downsides of buying a 2 year old phone?
And,
Since Sony is launching Z6 series next quarter or so, the price of z3c are bound to go down, the gap currently is just under 3500 INR (~50 USD), as seen on Flipkart today. So, should I wait?

No harm in going with Z3c, if you're fine with paying a little more. As far as z6, etc., the way things move these days, there's always going to be something newer by the time you get what's new. I guess as long as you stay in the same platform and family, you can just make backups and do the trade-in/upgrade thing every 6 months or so. Personally I'm fine with Z1c, but I wouldn't be surprised to see me getting a Z3c or Z5c once the prices go down.

I do want this phone, because of the build quality and how slim it is, that is literally the only reason, but reviews seem so bad now, the performance is terrible and it over heats so bad
Maybe its worth waiting for the P6S ? But how much more will that be?
Jack
Now obviously if the pricing of P6S is going to be the same, then P6S is better. It just matter of weeks before it gone release. Its best to wait because on the one hand you can make a better decision seeing the performance of P6S and on the other hand, the price of P6 would further reduce when P6S is out.
Other than that it depends on your needs. P6S advantages being:
- Better optimized gaming and performance in general
- better battery life
- 16g internal memory
- maybe LTE
If your not a gamer nor heavy user, then the above needs arent really important.
I dont have the heat issues in such way its mentioned on websites. The highest heat i have experienced is when benchmarking at times, and it wasnt serious heat like its gone explode but instead heat at a level of feeling discomfort of not being normal. Most complains maybe cause of people using older firmware.
Mine doesn't overheat either. I mean, it gets warm when I'm using it a lot, but I guess that comes with having such a slim phone with an aluminium back which acts like a heatsink.
Looking at the P6S i think it's going to be thicker than the P6. Even just 1mm thicker defeats the whole point of having the phone (for me anyway). Once it's thicker than 7mm it's lost its' wow factor and it's then just another phone. Plus, I think the P6S is only a tiny upgrade from 1.5 to 1.6Ghz and looks like it will still be quad-core and not octa-core. Same screen etc. but with EMUI 2.0. However I would imagine EMUI 2.0 will also come to the P6......
For £199 the P6 is an absolute bargain. Updates are coming regularly and KitKat is reportedly coming to it in January (6 weeks...!). Buy one and if you're not happy with it you can take it back (buy it in-store though, they have a different returns policy for internet sales..!)

I got mine in august from carphone warehouse for £240 and it was a bargain then. Now its down to under £200, it's a even better deal! Brilliant pricing.
As for what you've mentioned above with bad reviews and performance. I have to disagree. I'm now running the 122 firmware and it's a massive difference compared to what I had the first few months with just the stock UK release out of the box.
Only overheat I ever had was when I originally got the phone and was testing the GPS. If you have the screen on constant I can see why it would overheat, but never an issue for me.
As for performance there are a few things I don't like, but they are mainly with the software/apps, so just replaced them with others from the play store. Getting about the phone and doing day to day things it is very slick and responsive. My wife has the S3 and its much better than the performance on that. She's actually wanting to get one now after playing about with my P6.
I never play games, but have it syncing emails all day, use the phone a lot, same with texting. Bluetooth is on at least 2 hours a day connected to my car audio, and I use wifi maybe for half an hour a day. I get 3 days out a fully charged battery. That combined with the slimmness of the phone is the winner for me.
Roll on january and kitkat :highfive:

I had I for more than a year for more than a year of very intensive use (loading up to 270 app version s). I would definitely buy again.
I just had problems after it dropped violently on the ground but I insist build quality is good.
After full reinstall I changed it to ww from cn and with little bugs (camera lost) it works really well.
Where did you read that (links please) and what was the reasoning behind it? As of now, I can't think of any reason why this (or any other) phone would become useless in the coming months. Even if it was an Android 4.4 based phone. I'm not talking about getting updates, but phones don't just stop working (unless they break down).
In my opinion, not anymore. I'm actually a ZE551 user for 3 months now and am satisfied by it, but the specs in this phone is not a viable option anymore. The intel processor can even hold you back sometimes despite its "native support" for ARM apps. (take a look at the Pokemon GO craze earlier)
And if you are 3D gaming it can also be a setback due to the GPU included in this phone. The PowerVR GPU is a 2012 technology, and this means that with the future games this may not even suffice later on. Even some games recently released cant even play smoothly on this phone now (Titan Quest was said to be slow on this phone, though I havent seen it myself)
But the 4G support aint bad at all, and the 3-way call feature may attract you (something I never used). Most of the other things from various reviews still ring true (bloatware, zenui, camera, etc) but the thing is, on the same price point you may find a better option than the Zenfone 2 in this day and age.
If you can get it at a low price (around 150 usd) it is still worth buying.
If you need it just for the basic stuff (phone, messaging, browsing, navigation, music, videos etc.) it still is a great phone and with it's chipset and 4gb of ram it will sure run flawlessly for at least a year or two.
In my opinion, this phone is great as a business phone / second phone. It just works and nothing more. I got bored with it
If you could get it with a slightly lower price, it's still worth buying. Quality is great overall.
Btw, ZE551ML 2.3GHz4GB/32GB price here is dropped to as low as 2,800,000 IDR (approx. 212.8 USD) at local store here.

going for a 4 gb ram model, u have to pay a bomb to get those high end phones which have charger lock and other things ... i dont regret buying this masterpiece, im coming from a background of Sony and Samsung phones to top it all .... i still feel this is the best of the phones i have considering the battery and the ram and also i am using a 128gb sdxc card which is going on for a year almost... NO REGRETS ..STILL THE BEST FOR ME
I have this phone since August 2016 and it never disappointed me. The processor is pretty good, you can run almost anything without any problems, the 4GB still is and will always be useful, the storage is big (i have the 32GB version, which is a lot for me and i never filled it). Sure, it hasn't been updated to 6.0 but I bought it with the thought that it might never get upgraded anyway..and even so 5.0 is still good and never had problems on it so far. I still recommend it even 1 year after I made the purchase. The price of the phone also went down (it's like 30% cheaper compared to when I bought it).
Definitely worth buying if you can find it around $150. The problem is that there are some excellent phones with bigger batteries and faster processors like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro for just under $200 that blow this one away. Having said that I still have mine (15 months now) and it's on Marshmallow Beta. I have no plans on replacing it in the foreseeable future though my primary phone is now the Xiaomi.
Hi. I've complained and emailed Motorola at least two times after the disaster of my old Moto G4 (water damage) and have voiced out how can they improve things. Now, with planning on buying a G5 Plus I have three main concerns:
1. Having no compass or magnetometer means location services apps like Google Maps (which I use on a daily basis for walking navigation due to the nature of my work and during holiday looking for a nearby restaurant or a place of interest) may function and perform slower than a device with compass. True?
2. Advanced nano coating - I'm worried that when i use my phone in light rain or an accidental drop in the sink might damage the internals when water enter small holes such as mic, speakers, USB port and grooves in-between buttons. So, is it safe or not?
3. Updates - We all know when Lenovo took over Moto updates have been very slow with the current G5 lineup still stuck with 7.0. I'm not into rooting so I depend highly on updates straight from the OEM. But with a near-stock and seemingly optimised software is this a cause for concern? Or better to stick it out with Samsung or Sony which does faster updates?
Some minor concerns are:
1. G5 Plus speakers sound a bit tinnier than last year's model?
2. Camera seem bland and has no image stabilisation apart from a pseudo-EIS at 1080p 30fps but still better than last year?
3. Storage is UFS type or eMMC 5.1?
You sound like you are expecting a flagship level performance from a midranger.
You should be looking for a Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus.
Yes, gps should be a bit finicky for walking navigation for initial navigation, once you start walking it should be fine.
No, it's not gonna be safe for dropping in the sink.
Not even Galaxy S8 or LG G6 got any updates beyond 7.0. For a budget phone don't expect security update every month. I would expect a security update like every 3/4 months. And It's probably gonna jump to Android 8.0 directly at the beginning of next year. Assumption is based on the update of my Moto Z play.
You are right about the camera, but unless you purchase a next year's flagship, there is no better camera than this for less than 300$ price tag.
1) Software problems (i.e. slow updates and the like) are all eventually solved with custom roms
2) if you want hardware that the phone doesnt have, you need to pay more for a phone. this is a great mid level phone

It's a great mid-level phone that's $200 less than another great mid-level phone, OnePlus 3T !!
And the fingerpad control is life changing (I keep trying to swipe on my Tab S2 tablet's button now!)
I do not think things such as a compass is ONLY found on a high-end device. And things i considered "basic" for a mid-range such as USB Type-C (which has been around for a year now in mainstream devices), blue light filter (again present in Asus tablets since 3 years ago & iPhones as well). And a compass.
And a security update 4 months ago isn't good enough; Google has started to be "strict" in encouraging OEMs to at least patch security vulnerabilities (and maybe some minor bug fixes) every month which again to some is a deal breaker and a very important matter especially nowadays.
I'm not into custom ROMs so I would rather wait for OTA pushed directly by the phone manufacturer.
Saying that I need something more than a 5-inch screen real estate. And one under £250 / $250.
Compass - In the Phone
USB C - Not included for Cost (i'm sure)
blue light filter - Added in SW
Quick Security updates - Added by Custom Roms
If you wait for Moto, you may be waiting a while. There are really a few options..
Buy a nexus
- get the newest updates
- get all the high end features
Use a custom Rom
- get the newest Updates
Don't use nexus or Custom Rom
- Wait for slow manufactures
It's really about as simple as that.
Thanks for the insight.
Would you mind please installing CPU-Z and prove to me the G5 Plus has a compass.
As I have said I am not into rooting or custom ROMs. And besides I might invalidate the warranty of my phone or further damage the software as I still think ROMS are unstable anyway.
So, what you are saying a USB Type-C (a technology which is technically around for over a year now) would be expensive in terms of being incorporated in a device?
Is a blue light filter toggle being baked in the SW difficult to do by a devs?
And would 3GB of memory be enough? Really worried that apps are not kept on memory so apps reload and not load instantly.
Moto G5 Plus has a compass in USA, but not in Europe. Also, yes, 3 GB of RAM is fine. 2 GB is just enough, 3 GB is good, 4 GB is great
Well, that's the trouble right there. One country had slightly altered specs than the other. I wonder what made Motorola-Lenovo decide why us Brits/Europeans don't need a compass in our phones. Stupid really.

Probably the same ones that decided the US version didn't need NFC. It's almost like they've decided to the penny what they are going to put into the phones and then they clip a coin to see which market gets what.
After the G4 I decided I'd never own another Lenovo product but I did look hard at the G5. Since my G4 is running ok for now, I've decided to hold off and see if the rumor mill holds true about the G5S later this year. I may take another look then.

When I had the G4 it developed some water damage (the worse I did with the phone was i quickly "washed" it with water under the sink but only for 1-2 seconds nothing more) hence I got disappointed. I held off for a new G5 simply because I was just underwhelmed somewhat and also disappointed because Lenovo decided on (what I view strongly as ) cost cutting exercises as I mentioned earlier such as having no compass, no USB Type-C, "advanced" nano coating and not some IP-rated protection, a measly 5MP front cam and no 7.1.1 on release.
I did saw news of an updated G5S phones but they may not come till late this year so I'm back on the drawing board i.e. getting another G4 by the meantime or buy an old flagship like S7 (which can be had for exactly the same price as a UK-spec G5) or an iPhone 6S or a much cheaper/older Nexus 6P. Lost faith in a Sony phone as battery life has been an issue for me since.
After using this phone
I regret not buying Lenovo p2 or lenovo zuk z2
Z2 has 820

Hey you, expecting something from a company which previously did the same isn't "expecting flagship performance"
The major reason for people to buy Motog is because they have an impression that Moto provides regular updates, but now when things are changing and Lenovo just killing what Moto was known for than its a few more years in which people would know the reality. Why would have I bought Motog if I could have bought Lenovo P2 with the same price, it's having same specs + a 64bit os + an amoled screen + 5100mah battery + compass sensor. It's because of my expectation from Moto to provide me updates and if they don't then moto's uniqueness would be self destroyed and me and I believe many like me would find nothing which would differentiate Moto from other brands.

Pros in Lenovo P2 but should u really care:
1. 64bit os - all apps that I use are supported by the 32bit Motog, and the performance isnt affected by any means running a 32bit os. Practically it's the same, I have had no issues running the 32bit os on my Moto g since I bought it, if it wasn't for this thread then I wouldn't have even noticed that it has a 32bit os [emoji28]
2. Amoled screen - amoled screen is good for viewing because of its punchy colors but it has its own issues like screen burning, LCD panel isn't bad by any means and if you are coming from a device that already had LCD screen than u would be happy by the display of Moto g. It's just good.
3. 5100mah battery- it's hard to defend this but I prefer a device with 3000mah over 5100mah as sd625 with 3000mah easily gives me 6+ hours of sot by heavy usage and it's the practical amount anyone would use a smartphone is a day, so this makes me charge my device everyday at the end of the day with which I am familiar, having a 5100mah battery would disbalance my stats and would give me 1.5days of usage, but still I would charge my device everyday as I can't charge my device in the afternoon due to life/job/education, so having a 5100mah is good but not practical, not for me, especially with that sweetttt sd625 chip inside, it's the best chipset in the budget market right now, awesome battery life and no heating issues.
Compass sensor- it's good to have as many sensors as possible, the most practical use of the compass sensor is for navigation, and navigation works really fine even without it *with a constant internet connection of course [emoji28] *, until u are used to offline maps and use them for navigation u won't notice any major difference.
Pros with Motog that u can't ignore:
1. The brand value: even if we geeks know that Lenovo owns Motorola but the world in general loves Moto g and is familiar with this brand for decades, Moto demands respect which a fone branded with Lenovo(f*** china [emoji36] ) don't, and that matters.
2. Better updates - even though Lenovo bought Moto the staff of Moto is still there, and I think they will not let us down as they know what we expect from them, Lenovo P2 got nougat update but it's so buggy that some users can't even watch YouTube videos with peace (audio syncing issues), you can see YouTube videos of users telling how to get back to marshmallow also, that's what I mean by "better" updates, that Chinese company can't compete with the technical staff in term of updates. It's 90% sure that we would get android o and it's 100% sure Lenovo P2 won't, coz it's just isn't their thing [emoji23]
3. Better camera- no need to explain on that, it's just the way it is. Best in class
4. That plain screen- Moto g has a plain Gorilla glass while Lenovo P2 has a 2.5d curved glass, it's so hard to find a good tempered glass protector for a 2.5d glass, I own a 2.5d glass device for months now and I am sick of it, with Moto g I can easily get a good tempered glass anywhere, literally anywhere.
5. Stock android- again nothing to explain u about this, just enjoy stock android in its full glory with Motog [emoji4]
That's the reason why I choose Moto g over lenovo P2, Moto g according to me is the most balanced smartphone in the budget segment right now, it don't really excells in anything, it's just a solid allrounder, i have been using it for weeks now and there's nothing to complain about. I was getting Lenovo P2 for ₹11750 ($175.37) and still I choose Moto g(4/32gb) which I got at ₹12750 ($190.29), and I know I would never regret my decision,
thanks for patiently reading this [emoji23]
Peace [emoji111]

I have seen on XDA that there is much more developer activity for the Pixel 2 xl than for the 3 Xl. Is that true or just my impression? Is 2 Xl for any reason more interesting for developers than 3 XL? Do you think that developers will go on working on the Pixel 2 XL in the next couple of years or will the activity die soon? I ask myself if I should better buy an 3 XL because in the future it will receive more support on XDA and 2 XL maybe less. But I have also read in older threads that many people recommended not to upgrade from 2 XL to 3 XL because there where no big advances, besides the supposedly better screen. Now I have found an interesting offer for a brand new, unopened Pixel 2XL and would like to buy it. But I suppose that the battery will be totally empty after three years in the box and I wonder if it will charge and work normally as new. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you very much!
I don't think development for the Pixel 2XL will end anytime soon. The Galaxy S3 was released in 2012 and still has ROMs being made for it! As for whether to buy it, if you're fine using a custom ROM for future updates (since Google's ended all updates for it now), and you can find one that's a good deal, then go for it!

You just helped to sell a Pixel 2 XL, at least I bought it for 220 Euros, brand new with an original grey case, which is also unused. I feel like I made a good deal, as I can't imagine a better rootable device at that price. Thank you!

Wow, that's a good deal! Wish you best of luck with your new device, and I hope you get many years out of it.

Thank you very much! Actually I have read that the "taimen" is also known as the siberian giant trout, which can live about 16 years. This should be the average for premium devices. I am typing this proudly on my 2008 built Thinkpad X61s with Windows 10.
I just scooped up a panda on swappa last week for 100 bucks, got a new battery off ebay (actually legit to my surprise) and this thing is running AWESOME. Flashed all the 11 roms and found evolution x to work best for me. Seriously blown away at how well this phone holds up 3+ years later. Only thing I "miss" coming from some modern phones is the 90hz refresh rate, other then that things still very much usable in 2021
Another bonus is unlimited high quality uploads free forever for our device, so yeah even if you decide to upgrade later you can keep your pixel to upload photos for free.
Pixel 2XL worth in 2021?
Snapdragon 835
4GB RAM
Adreno Graphics
6" QHD Full Amoled Display
Surround Stereo Speakers wich will slap you in the Face (the Good way)
Type-C QuickCharge
Awesome Pictures & Videos with Bokeh und Nightvision (Latest Google Camera version)
Android 8-11 (depends if you update or not)
The most beautiful Design ever made (Black/White version)
Runs any App & Games even badass once like
Genshin Impact, Diablo Immortal and yes that ugly Fortnite without any issues.
So would i recommend the Pixel 2XL? ABSOLUTELY
Ps: i bought mine in October 2020 factory new & sealed for 249€ (very rare to find a sealed one, good luck)

Saw that to late, congratz for having one now. BUT don't root it, just don't screw it up, its just a rare phone (specially factory new) there is absolutely NO reason to Root any Device in 2021, whatever you are looking for, "There is an App for that" (yeah that apple phrase, matches Android now as well)
Also you will lose the ability to run any Online Banking app & you will be kicked out of a lotta Games as well, cause of Root. It's not worth it, remember there is always an "App for that"

Yes, I am also quite happy with my Panda, which I bought factory sealed for 220 Euros, including a brand new google case, which I immediatly thought looks very nice but not very functional. The second day of use it fell down on the floor from my table and it suffered a small crack on the upper part of the screen right next to the speaker, you can imagine that I was not too happy with that, although the damage is not very important . Several days later a spigen case and a screen protector arrived. and cost only 30% of the price from 2017 when the device came out . It now has lost it's most beautiful design of the century but it looks save. Included in the price of my pixel 2 xl came allmost all the bugs the device can have, a slightly blue screen depending on the angle you look at it, which is not very important for me and, but more annoying, a not very responsive touchscreen at the lower edges. This said, the device is marvelous and all what I expected. After rooting I first used the stock ROM but now changed to the last ProtonAOSP, which has a very comfy web installer and is much smoother and faster than stock ROM, passes safetynet and gives me 9 hours of SOT . Yesterday I also installed Viper4Android through magisk and I am totally happy with the result. I have never seen a better sounding smartphone.

Well, the main reason for me for buying this phone was that rooting is so easy and the developer community for pixel phones is very active. So it is much easier to keep this device up to date than other much newer devices.
I received a used z fold 2 in pristine condition that was used for a month or less and can upgrade to the z fold 3 for $500. Is it worth the upgrade for $500?

I would say no. You get
CONS:
a smaller outer display
A smaller battery,
PROS
a tad better processor
a kinda invisible under display inner camera, which is a worse compared to fold 2.

Thanks, that is what I was thinking. Just wish the z fold 2 had a better inner screen protector like the 3 as the rubbery feeling kind of sucks on the 2. I think I will just keep the 2 and see what they do with the z fold 4 next year and then maybe upgrade to that.

You will probably be able to get a better deal on trade in, too. I managed to snaffle an au$1,300 trade in discount (~us$900) plus half price care + by trading in my Z Flip that only cost au$1,000 last year. It was a limited time offer, and Samsung often do these.

The outer display is the exact same size on both devices. And the battery size is very close. 4500 vs 4400.
You also get water resistance and SPen compatibility.
I had the ZF2 for almost a year, and the ZF2 has been a great upgrade, well worth the money in my opinion. $500 to upgrade is a really good real, but I think Best Buy has some pretty crazy offers right now too.

I would say what's $500 worth to you. $500 isnt much to some, I spend more on dinner. So I would upgrade all day everyday. I will say that the z fold 3 is the first phone in years that I won't switch from until it's successor comes out (the Motorola RAZR back in 2004 was the last). It does everything right for me. Especially since I use the camera only once a month.
I would upgrade without question. If not just for the fact that I live in an area with bad reception and the F3 is getting much better reception then the F2 to the point where I don't have to be on wifi calling to use the phone on the F3. The internal screen is much better to the touch and definitely feels tougher and certainly not as sticky and rubbery as the F2 screen does...love the F3.

Whilst battery is 5% smaller, SOT & usage from a full charge is 25 to 30% less on the Fold3..
Definitiely a much worse battery drain on an Fold3 vs Fold2. I would NOT upgrade right now!
(I do have my fingers crossed Android 12 closes the battery life gap ... but am not holding my breath).

I've had the ZF3 since launch and yes at first battery life was terrible. All new devices are like that. Go through ANY forum here, and you'll see complaints on every single one of them about battery life at launch. ALL of them.
But it has improved and I would say it's very comparable now to the ZF2, which I owned for almost a year.
I would definitely upgrade from the ZF2 to the ZF3 given a good deal.

I had a Fold3 for 2 months and battery life was CONSISTENTLY 25 - 30% poorer than on the F2
Some Forum members point at Snapdragon 888 as a power hog. Other people have other ideas
Constant factor for me is 25% WORSE battery life.on F3 over what I had with F2
@OP Don't upgrade from a F2 to an F3 if getting a full days use on one full charge is important to you

Cool yes coming from different devices will be a different experience for Fold3 upgrade
I was trying to answer the OP who has an F2 and asked if it's worth the upgrade to F3
I can only offer my experience of battery and that it has been excellent. I have about 40% left at the end of a day.
Thats with alot of spotify streaming, gps/fitbit as I use for a run, YouTube for about an hour, with Twitter and Facebook thrown in for extra.
The real question is if you didn't have the Z fold 3 and being 60 days away when the S22 Ultra/Note with Spen hits the stores is it even worth upgrading? You know many on XDA will be running to the S22 Ultra with built in Spen when it hits.
I currently have the S21Ultra and love the Note line. Saki will be Flossy will be all saying to get it when it hits.

-If- Samsung gets their sorry Note act together it will likely be in the fall of next year.
Even if that happens Android has dropped the ball twice now with Android 11 and 12.
It will be probably closer to 2 years before their scoped storage mess gets effectively implemented.

the S22 Ultra IS the Note It's called the S22 Ultra but it's just the Note with a new name. Going forward the Ultra is the Note device released with the S series.
I don't like the Android 12 myself. My S21 Ultra is flawless, was and Android 12 it's acting buggy now. Seeing a lot of people complaining about it with their Fold devices as well.

We'll see what the rabid box of gerbils know as Samsung does in the coming year.
I bought my second new N10+ 2 months ago because I like them a lot, they're a solid workhorse and don't want to deal with the multiple issues both Samsung and Android are having with their new technologies. I'm running on Android 9 and 10 with zero incentive to go beyond Android 10.
Of course it depends what's important to the individual. I've never had any major security issues even on the 2 yo Pie variant, but scoped storage would trash my freeware office app for starters.
Color rendering, good low light display usability and battery life are more important variable refresh rates. Add to that I know the N10+'s display is long lived and reliable.
5G isn't worth the power trade off as 4G gets it done and will even speed up a bit because of the 5G users reducing the pressure on the 4G bandwidth.
A faster Snapdragon and ram memory be nice but that be offset somewhat by scoped storage and forced encryption.
A SD card slot is mandatory; I need my dual drive computer.
I prefer the square display corners immensely as well as the 7mm profile with no cam hump.
Absolutely insist on a native spen, preferably on the right side and with bt remote capability.
Samsung runs hot and cold.
When they're running what you consider to be hot, grab it.
When they're cold, let Samsung hold on to it
When in doubt, wait.

I will stick to using the latest & greates devices with the current OS & all available security patches applied as soon as released.
(like 99.9999% of XDA users I imagine)

To he honest I have used Android 10 11 and 12 on many brands and devices and never had any serious issues with any of them - never ever ...
In the last 8 weeks I have used Android 12 as daily driver on Xiaomi Mi11, Google Pixel 6 Pro and S21 Ultra and all of them were stable and smooth as butter... And all with spectacular battery life over my own previous Android 11 SOT experience with each of them
That's why I'm holding onto my F3 until A12 stable is released... just to see if I can manage a full days use on a Fold3 without experiencing battery anxiety by mid afternoon
