Good morning
I have a LG G3 D851 cell phone and I installed CM13 but despite being well set the APN, I can't get internet through mobile data. Navigation through wifi works without drawbacks. I made a wipe cache/dalvic but the problem persists. Previously I had installed a Rom Stock (D85120G).
I appreciate if you can give me help. I live in Colombia and I also installed CM12 in which the internet through mobile data works without problems.

Good night
So far I have not managed to solve the problem, but I've done several tests. If I use any application to connect to the VPN, data work. If I use a simcard from another operator, the data service is working properly. The problem is when I use the simcard and not connect to a VPN (I think that the problem is with the ISP's DNS) data service is not working. I have tried this same settings (APN) in another rom and data work smoothly.
Hello
I flashed the latest update and I still have problem with charging and Internet data service. I have correctly configured the APN for my ISP and phone mark me exclamation mark on the icon of the network. I've tried with other simcard from others operators and Internet data service works well. I have found a workaround and it is to modify the DNS for the interface of mobile data service or use a VPN client application. Previously I used CM12.1 and did not have these drawback.

Thanks for this.
I had 2 APNs available to me for my provider; neither worked before. I've now got one of them working after the DNS change.
Work around will do me for now.

Doesn't work for me, after change of DNS, url's are not working. If I type the ip-adress to a website directly is is working. So it has to be something related to the DNS somehow. I'm on CM13, nightly build 20160807.

Hi, delete the apn and again creates the apn. Then connect to WiFi, opens the dns application, apply the fix, disconnected network WiFi, active network of data and tests.

I have a strange problem with my Galaxy Nexus. When I connect to the internet using the mobile network, the connection is extremely slow. (And by slow I mean around 2-3 minutes to fully load the google mobile search page). I tried the "Speed Test" app to test the network speed, but it simply fails after a while mentioning "Network communication issues" (maybe it times out?).
The weird thing is that other devices can access the internet fine when connected to the internet through the Nexus by enabling its WiFi hotspot feature. So the other devices can use the Nexus's internet connection with acceptable speeds while the Nexus itself can't. Anybody got any ideas as to why this happens? One thing I could think of was that the DNS given to the Nexus by the mobile network being slow (whereas the other devices connected to it use the DNS in their WiFi settings). I tried to verify this by using the "DNS Changer" app, but it didn't solve the problem, although I'm not sure that it actually changed the DNS used by the Nexus.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Bump for a solution for this man!

Problem solved!
Finally found the culprit! It wasn't DNS after all. My carrier's data settings include an IP and port for a proxy. When I configured the APN on the phone, I entered them simply because they were there. Turns out that keeping them empty solves the speed issues on the phone. So the bottleneck was the carrier's proxy server. I guess tethered clients don't use the proxy setting on the phone and therefore didn't experience the speed issue.
Inspiration fixed wifi hotspot not connecting to internet
I wanted to thank you because your solution helped me fix my problem. I couldn't connect my native wifi hotspot on my GSM Galaxy Nexus to my Nexus 7. The wifi indicator would come on to my N7 but it stayed gray (i.e. wasn't connected to the internet). Turns out that last month I set up an APN to connect to T-Mobile via IPv6. Well, apparently, this creates a problem with using the wifi hotspot. I switched back to regular T-Mo connection and...if works! My GNex/N7 combo is fully functional. Thanks again for the inspiration!

Hi There
First post!
I have a Note 3 on T-mobile.
So I had rooted kitkat using this method: http://www.galaxynote3update.com/root-tmobile-galaxy-note-3-sm-n900t-no-knox-counter-trip/ and had been using Wifi Tether router to have unlimited tethering while i'm at work.
I used this method to get to the new lollipop when it became available for my phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...icial-lollipop-n900tuvufob5-t-mobile-t3046295
and now Wifi Tether Router runs, enables the hotspot, but none of my devices can see the hotspot. I've tried the SQL thing, and someone suggested trying to set the encryption to Open instead of WPA2, but that doesn't work either.
anyone else having this issue or have a fix?

Hey, i managed to get it working by changing the SSID. For some reason keeping the SSID i used before the Lollipop update wouldn't let it be seen.
Pls am having the same problem... How did u resolve yours Mr gohanrocs12.. How did u change ur ssid?
Ssid is the name that identifies your wifi network, like Netgear 77, or Lynksys. It's typically the name your network wifi router comes with when you take it out of the box and set it up.
You access it with a computer based settings program that comes with the router allowing you to change settings on your router. .

No APN reset don't work. Get Disconnect from Mobile Data Service. But I see that the settings says when it is connected Network Type EDGE. But if it gets Disconnected then it says GSM
Edit: Attached ScreenShots
Go to developer options and turn on "cellular data always active". I use that on my phone and it picks up the cell signal almost instantly when out of WiFi range. I am still getting about 5 hrs SOT. ,
Okay i think this is gonna work, instand Switch to Mobile Data. And what to you mean with SOT @calbrs
Today i downloadet the system Update 3.2.2 and I think this bug is patched with this update . Actually no issues with the Mobile Data connection
EDIT: NO DONT work same issue

I have exactly the same issue with my OP3 OOS 3.2.2, no root. It is really annoying
Me too, it isn't handling the switch between mobile data and Wi-Fi very well, not sure whether it's just one way, when i get to work and connect to work Wi-Fi I've ended up having to turn off mobile data to get it to use the Wi-Fi connection.

It is two way. That's my observation. I am very disappointed from the phone which has such problems with basic thing like wi-fi connection. I think this will be my first and last OP phone!
So has anyone found a solution to this issue? What kind of flagship killer has problems with such basic functionality?
I've read on other forums that some devices have a feature called Smart Network Switch, but I can't find that anywhere.
And I really don't think it's the APN...I've modified it in all possible ways and it's still happening...not switching automatically but starts working after switching to airplane mode and back. And the "aggressive" switch option doesn't work either.
If anyone has any idea about how to fix this or how it can be further investigated, please share, it's becoming really annoying. Thanks!

I activated the Mobile Data on in the Developer Options and for me it works pretty well.
The IPv4/IPv6 solution seemed to work. I still have issues when connecting to the wireless network (company wifi, with login credentials and the whole deal) but I used to have the same issue with my Nexus 5, meaning that I have to be disconnected from the mobile data to access the wifi network's login page (forgot to mention this in my previous post). Anyway, I'm happy that I don't have to switch to airplane mode anymore Thanks everyone!
I had many phones and I had many troubles with DNS. Now it is the G4. It seems DNS just stops working sometimes. YouTube just cuts, webpages cannot resolve DNS address. I have to disable WiFi and then enable again to get webpages/internet to work again. When DNS stops working the phones works hard and gets hot and drains battery like hell. I had this problem with Samsung phones too.
It's not my router or internet connection because everything else works (my computers and servers) and I have changes routers many times.
Is this android? WiFi drivers? As i said, it cannot be my network. I use google DNS 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4. I have also tried static IP/DNS address.
This I had with others phones too. Never apple phones though... So it seems like an android problem? Of course I have tried resetting my phone and reinstalling.
Anyone with any useful tips or solutions here? Getting tired of this problem...

By dhcp. I also used static dns.
Why are you using static DNS? Are you by any chance using a DNS to bypass geolocation? Are any other devices connected to the WiFi having the same issues? This looks a little bit like an issue that is independent of the G4. When you are setting up a static DNS, it may conflict with the other settings. I am using the DNS from the Internet provider, I am not touching any settings for WiFi and I never had issues unless the Internet connection itself had issues (like last week with the DDoS attack from the IoT devices). Maybe it is an issue with your Internet provider.

I use dhcp, but have tried with static. The only thing that hasn't changed is my provider, but as I said, everything else is working except my g4. Same with my Samsung s5, note 3.
There is a "Network settings reset" in Settings -> Backup & reset. Try it. If you can update to a newer version, do it, it will clear Dalvik Cache. I think there is something wrong with one of the system apps. If your G4 is rooted, then just clear Dalvik Cache from TWRP. I would also delete the WiFi AP and reconnect. Did you check the router for the IP it gives the G4? Maybe there is a conflict with another device, if you're setting IPs using MAC address.

Tried all that. Reinstalled the phone several times by the way.
My router gives IP adresses to all my devies and thats a lot og devices. If there is a conflict you know right away and more the other devices who is conflicting will also not work. Every other device works except my G4 UNTIL i disable wifi and then enable it, like within 5 second. Just disable and enable wifi and everything is back to normal.

Never fixed the issues with those two phones... just had to live with it disabling wifi and enabling again... several times a day. Sometimes after a short while and sometimes after a longer time.
Then I would say that it is not a problem with the phone, maybe with Android. What exact model is the router?

Yeah it has to be a problem with android VS my internet router perhaps. It's weird because I've been through jellybean -> marshmallow.. My internet provider router is Norwegian one (inteno something).
My network:
internet -> internet provider router (inteno) -> ASUS RT-AC68U as access point -> phone.
IP adresses is recieved by the inteno router.
So maybe my phones don't like the internet provider router. Will have to test more when I get fiber internet with a brand new router.
Hello,
I have the global version of the mi9SE and experiencing very annoying issues when trying to access certain websites OVER MOBILE NETWORK (WIFI works) which returns errors as per attached screen shots, reporting certain sites (banking particulary) as can't be found or offline.
I temporarily managed to fix the issue by changing APN settings from IPV6 to IPV4 as per a suggestion on the forum of my French network carrier. Unfortunately with the update to android 10 and MIUI 11 erased these settings and now 4g or 3g for that matter simply fails to connect over IPV4 setting after update so I’m back to square one which is immensly irritating.
I can’t work out if this is a carrier issue or a software bug. I’ve tried the following :
- Changing Sim to another phone. No problems there.
- Changing browser. Both chrome and edge are the same as well as the native browser.
- Contacting bank who tell me issue not unheard of but have no solution.
- Contacting my carrier who claim not to have an answer.
I haven’t tried another sim in the handset.
Help would be much appreciated.
Hi
I also use French carrier, bouygues, using android 10 miuimix, just tried ing website and it works fine through 4g.
Have you tried a different ROM? You should have a menu to erase connectivity data in settings may be it could help

Hi thanks for your reply. Vey strange, I too am on Bouygues network and ING website doesn't work for me.
However I must point out that it is the secure part of the website that doesn't work so logging into the "espace client" part of the account, the home page DOES work. Same for you or not ?
I don't understand how it can only be me experiencing this issue which I've had for months now despite doing a factory reset, formatting etc. I'm using the stock global rom OTA from Xiaomi. I surely shoudln't have to flash another rom to get a working phone. I take it Miuimix is a ROM you're using on the Mi9SE ? Just how stable and secure is it ?
tks
MY WIFI hotspot won't work either. It connects to the network but refuses to connect to the internet. No such problem when placing the same sim into another phone and setting up the same hotspot. Could this be a problem with my device hardware I wonder ? I haven't done anything in particular...but these issues weren't there when I first bought the device.
For Hotspot I guess it's related to Android 10 update...
Just tried the secure part of the ing website and indeed it doesn't work for me neither on 4g. But Hotspot works fine.

Great thanks so much for trying at least I know it isn't just and so can conclude an issue with MIUI and the phone. Strange how adjusting VPN settings to IPV4 used to work but now doesn't. I fear the issue is embedded into the OS and I'll probably never find a solution . Wouldn't be so bothered if this was the only site but it's not. I first thought it was just a problem with the websites, then realized it wasn't when the same sites worked over WIFI.
As for the WIFI hotspot issue, still no solution to this problem. The same sim is fine in my Motorola and connects to the internet perfectly over 5ghz band. If I try 5ghz band on the SE, windows simply reports "unable to connect to the network" and over the 2.4ghz the device network will connect but reports "no internet".
It doesn't sound as If the two issues are related from what you say. Is it possible it's the windows firewall blocking the Xiaomi but not the motorola ?
