What do you mean you've "tried kingroot, pingpong root, and every other one out there and still nothing"? So you have tried them all and were unsuccessful? Which S6? Which firmware are you running? What happens when it fails? Which recovery? You're not going to find anything that will crack the firmware without flashing something through Odin or recovery dude.
You will need to learn how to use Odin. Here is a tutorial on how to do that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tv0BnfpNxEs
Download and, using Odin, flash the TAR file from here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=44922
Your phone will reboot and you will have root.
You can also install TWRP through Odin.
You need to use Odin for this. If that is too complicated for you, then you are out of luck.

Yes. I just updated to OL1 myself, flashed the kernel and then TWRP and I am rooted with custom recovery.

Thanks for the speedy reply. Can confirm this worked on my device. Happy Holidays indeed!

There is absolutely no app that will reset Knox on any Samsung phone S4 and after. Triangle away never reset Knox, it reset the flash counter on older boot loaders. Once Knox has been tripped there is no way to reset it without replacing your motherboard.

Haven't tried it yet but here a link which has step by step instructions on how to root SGH-T889 running android 4.3.
http://honai-android.blogspot.com/2013/12/how-to-root-galaxy-note-2-t-mobile-sgh.html
Please Note: This method will most likely trip the KNOX/Warranty Bit counter so try it on your own risk.
Rooting is not the same on 4.3.

In download mode it showed KNOX was tripped. 'Knox warranty void: 1" I ended up bricking it, which is all the same, I don't like KNOX bs anyway. I spun a good yarn to T-Mobile so I'll have another Note 2 tomorrow hopefully on something below 4.3 lol.

Sorry to hear that, can you elaborate how it got bricked ?
Did you try to downgrade ? Flashing it back to 4.3 worked for S3 phones.
I mean once you are on 4.3 you cannot flash back to an older version (4.1.x) easily. There must be a way via CWM or TWRP.
Some of us can use this information to NOT brick our phones.

So...I decided to take a chance and try to some things on my own, you know, show some initiative. I wont be doing that again and have gained even more respect for what you devs do. Here's the story. I tried to root the 4.3 using chainfires method, after being warned by psycho4us4 that it prolly wouldn't work. It did work, sort of... I had superuser and with root explorer was able to access system files. However, I could not alter or change any of the files. When I attempted to, the explorer would stop responding. It's also important to note I was never asked to grant SU permissions. That dialogue was replaced with the notification bar warning (apparently issued by KNOX) that an app was trying to access a restricted area of the device (lol) which I ignored. So now I have my Note II with SU and KNOX tripped showing warranty void 1 in the download mode So I'm thinking "Ok I'll flash back to MD1 with ODIN" Into download mode I go and start up ol ODIN I load the firmware and let it run. After going through the entire process it fails at the end. Now I have the Keis firmware failed screen....a brick.

I'm having trouble deciding which route I want to go. Don't know if I want to use the link with the Warranty Safe Root way(have already cooked the rom per it's directions) or if I want to go the cf-auto root way. I don't know anything about the vroot method. Any thoughts or insight would be appreciated.
I thought I'd be clever too and do a factory reset from the phone and it hung on the tmo boot screen, but I ended up downloading the stock 4.3 tar file and ODIN back to 4.3 and it works again.
The Chainfire root way is definitely not the way to go as it does not work.
Going to try the vroot way to see if I can get root back.
With vroot download supersu before starting them make sure as soon as the phone boots up after rooting open supersu update binary and let it delete the other manager.

Keep in mind that if you follow this method, you are tripping the knox flag to a 0x1. This completed voids your warranty and until this moment there's no possible way to research back to a 0x0.
I used Oden to apply the Chainfire root. After rebooting, Knox told me it prevented an unauthorized app from accessing secure area of the phone. Then SuperSU FC'ed. I went to play, updated it SuperSU, and opened it. After a brief pause, it asked "Do you want to disable Knox?". I pondered that question intently, and in about 10ms, answered OF COURSE! It the successfully disabled knox.
After, go into the play store, and download "Rom Manager". Open it up, and click on the first tab. "Recovery Setup" (Even if it says that you already have CWM recovery installed, still do these steps) After clicking on that tab, on the list "Install or Update recovery" Click on ClockwordMod Recovery. Then click on our device name. A box will pop up suggesting you have Wi-Fi (If you're not already on it), just click OK. And then it'll automatically download it and flash it. There you go.
Sorry if this has already been posted. People might think that there is a different way to root 4.3, just here to help.

Thanks a lot. This method worked for me and very quickly! Thanks!
Thnaks for testing this out. This method worked for me. I had the old CFautoroot before and it didn't work for me, so after downloading the CFautoroot that's specifically for t-mo version, this worked for me.
I didn't even have to go and download a custom recovery. I managed to have the stock recovery on.

If you use ODIN to flash the 4.3 stock, then you'll lose root, and then you'll have to do this method to get root back. You already have root. Wait until Mr. R puts out the root injected 4.3 so you won't lose your root.

I flashed Robinson's stock root-injected 4.1.2 via Odin and I installed the 4.3 update via Kies yesterday so I lost root. I was wondering if this method would work for me.
It worked for me through ODIN. My mistake was using the old CFautoroot that was for the note 2 international. Once I used the one for t-mo, it all worked exactly as the OP stated - I stopped before the recovery installation since I didn't need TWRP or CWM

From what I have seen with my phone NO... But hey still very early. The root method here is great. I found that I had to also uninstall Knox completly with TiBu and seems to hold. Thanks again for the root method. Seems 4.3 is pretty smooth, I installed exposed and Wanam and all is good, Also flashed Devil Kernel and good good so far.:victory:

I thank the OP for updating the post to reflect the Knox issue... but I think anyone with a Note 2 should have already been aware of such issues when rooting. Even if they weren't around for the "modified/binary count/triangle away" disscussions... those that did root, still had to deal with those issue and heard all about them... and now that we've headed towards that next phase of OTA's... it's hard to think anyone has not seen/heard/read something on Knox itself... I can hardly go 5 topics without seeing something related to Knox posted within the first 2 pages... I commend the OP for updating... but how can people be so careless with a phone that cost $400-700. Especially when the first rule of xda is "read first" followed by rule two "at your own risk"
Ultimately, I tripped out about the whole "modified status won't allow OTA's / void warranty" at first and in the end it was patched... I hope for everyone's sake, this gets the same solution... like Coug, I'm holding out for the moment, but I do have faith

In a perfect world this is completely true, but this isn't a prefect world. Most the post I see about Knox is "what is Knox" instead of people searching. That's why we have so many people already bootlooping trying to go back to 4.1. I'm glad the op updated the Knox warranty but because I'm pretty sure there will be some people shocked by theirs being tripped.
On a side not Vroot and kingo will root without messing up the Knox. Just Google them. They were removed from xda because some suspicion of virus, but I didn't have s problem

So if you flash Mr. Robinson's stock root injected update you lose root. He has ripped out knox so if you use this method, you shouldn't have any issues and regain root?
I have T-Mobiles Galaxy S4 (SGH-M919). I upgraded from 4.2.2 to 4.3 yesterday, rooted, and was removing bloatware when something I deleted screwed up my gallery so I decided to re-do everything (go back to stock) and start all over. Of course that was a fail and now my screen says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." (didn't work)(cannot get into download mode or recovery) tried restoring through Odin (did this with an Galaxy s2 before and it fixed the problem) But did not work either!!! At the top of the screen it says:
Odin mode
Product name: sgh-m919
Current Binary: custom
System Status: custom
Knox Kernel Lock: 0x0
Knox Warrany Void: 0x1
CSB-Config-LSB: 0x30
Write Protection: Enabled
eMMC BURST MODE enabled
START (224, 1440)
SW REV. CHECK FAIL : fused : 4 , Binary : 1
I had originally thought that Knox was just a app, but know better now. I am downloading the 4.3 firmware (6 more hours to download) to flash through Odin, but expect the same results. Any ideas on how to fix this issue or do I own a new paper-weight??? I have read through many forums and cannot find a solution.....

Mine says that (kernel is not seandroid enforcing. set warranty bit kernel) when it is booting up, but it hasn't effected it negatively. To be honest I don't even know what that means yet.... As long as the phone turns on and works.... lol
I used CF-Auto-root and it worked flawlessly...

Once you are back to stock 4.3 and not rooted all you need to do to root
the phone is to download and Odin flash cf-autoroot.
Here is the direct download link for cf-autoroot in case you want to root your phone:
http://download.chainfire.eu/328/CF...jfltetmo-jfltetmo-sghm919.zip?retrieve_file=1
Unzip cf-autoroot into an empty folder on your computer's desktop, use
Odin which is also included in the zipfile to flash cf-autoroot in pda slot.
Once you are rooted you will need to flash a custom recovery like cwm or twrp.
Good luck!

Hello Guys,
My note 2's warranty gets over this month. I was thinking of rooting now using kingo as it seems the easiest method for a noob like me. Can you someone tell me if OTA updates will be problem after the root? Will a be able to get it as KitKAt is just around the corner?
Moreover is my decision to stick with kingo correct?
Appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance.

No, buddy . After rooting you cannot recieve OTA updates . It will say that ur device has been modified . You can root manually rather using kongo . And when kitkat will arrive then just go to sammobile firmware page and download the firmware and flash through odin
Don't forget to press thanks If I helped you in anyway

Thanks Ashraf bhai. I was under the impression that if i dont freeze anything i can get the OTA update easliy. If thats not the case i think i will wait for kitkat and then root as this is definitely not my cup of tea.
Flashing through odin wipes the phone clean and i am not much of a back up guy.

If u have stock recovery u can do OTA even after root... Do some changes before OTA
1.Install xposed framework
2.Install waanam xposed
3.Open wanaam xposed, go to security hacks.. ✔ check on fake system status..
This thing bring backs ur system status official from modified..
then check for OTA & u can downlad OTA

What is your build no. presently?
You do not need to worry about OTA update as you can receive it with the method mentioned above.
Can you tell me what do you want to do after rooting so that I can guide you correctly.

my firmware version is dduena1. I dont want to do anything specific. Just curious and want to experiment.
Already tried kingo and saferoot method listed in the link below. both of them dont work on this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2618261
I am looking for a method that doesn't require flashing so as to reatin all the data.

The easisest y to root would be Cf-autoroot. if you are NOT Knoxed..!!
Else the best possible way is to flash a pre rooted rom.. It makes life easy..! Dont run away from flashing bhai..!!

I have my guide but that involves flashing a custom recovery.
But that is if you want to change your ROM.
That method works 100 percent.
If you want to stay on the stock rom use CF-Autoroot.

There is no method to root without tripping knox on NA1 and ML4.
But you can get ota updates even after tripping knox.
And you will have problems with root access on stock rom because of knox.
If you like touchwiz head over to DN3 ROM. I use it as a daily driver and it's rock stable.

Edit: After rooting stock rom if you delete knox apps then you cannot get OTA updates because your system partition has been modified.

We would love you to stay on stock..! But the moment you get into a habit of playing around with things you will not go back..!
I am using Kitkat since 1 month..! No issues at all..!! Before OTA comes to you we get OTA on xda LOL..!!
Life is really fun being here.. You can guess that by the numbers of post i have made..!
I have used Note 3 features.. S5 features..! SHOWOFF..!! Being a punjabi that comes naturally to me..!!
YOu need to see your download counter in order to check if you are Knoxed..! even if you are does not matter,,

Root by flashing a Pre-rooted Rom that has an old bootloader IF that works ..! The max you can do is SOft brick which is easly recoverable..
And then explore the world or ROMS..!!

You can root it using the T-Mobile S6 chainfire auto-root tar that you flash in ODIN, but I wouldn't recommend it right now, there's pretty bad battery drain after rooting because it's not the right recovery for our device.
I don't mind a battery drain. Its that I have a note 2 and am gonna upgrade to a new phone because I am selling my phone. I use my phone for my internet for computer and watching TV at home so if I don't get it rooted or custom ROM with WiFi thether or mobile hotspot I am gonna be internetless and forget that. I am sure someone will make a custom ROM I just need to find out where to get tar files for root and tar files to unroot aoni can get them and root phone and when they figure out phone better and ROMs etc I will switch it. Can you provide me with info links etc please? Thank you soo much for your reply

Just download this and extract the zip: http://download.chainfire.eu/731/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-zerofltetmo-zerofltetmo-smg920t.zip There will be an ODIN exe in there, flash the tar file in ODIN with your phone attached via USB in download mode and it'll be rooted!

Also TWRP for the T-Mobile S6 might work as well, I assume you can flash it just fine, I haven't tried though

That may be true but I find it curious that there is only one post in the Development section and no custom ROMS. Frankly I can wait until Chainfire or whomever makes a good root and unlock. Call me cautious.

Fair enough, i waited to hear some feedback before trying. But everything works i promise :good: can at least remove everything not wanted, in the mean time while dev is making its way.
Hoping to put up a deodexed rooted base this weekend.
I got the hotspot / tethering working perfectly without rooting. Besides since there is no root available I read it will permanently disable Samsung Pay
