Hi guys, i'm confused about which model is the One M8Y or M8 y, 'cause someone is willing to make a trade for my MOTO X 2014 and they claim it's the exact same M8 but with 13mpx camera and not the ultrapixel one, that's is the only difference, and also this M8Y has Android 5.1.1.
Can anybody shed some light for me? I'm really confused here.
Thanks.
i think that is m8 eye not m8 Y
m8 eye with both 13 MP camera

Nope it's not. Selfie has laser auto focus zf2 doesn't have one. Here are your dilemma if you do so.
1.) dismantling and exchanging cam provided your a tech expert and you know what your doing will definitely void your warranty.
2.)placement and size of sensor might look alike on the outside but is it the same dimension on the inside once relocated from laser to zf2.
3.)for arguments sake, let's just say both phone have exactly the same fit and model of cam sensor. Then that leaves the question why do u need to swap when they are both the same model??
4.)laser sensor which is the only advantage of selfie over zf2, where would u place it?
5.)granting u found a solution to swap cam and even drilled a nice hole for the laser and fit everything perfectly. How would you reprogram your cam app to activate laser focus when firmware doesn't recognize that a laser sensor is present because there are no drivers embedded onto it.
But if your feeling lucky and gutsy with wild ideas and optimistic enough. Go ahead and try out your suggestion. Tell us here how everything works after if you intend to proceed. Lol
Good day.
thanks for your answer..
is there any asus phone which camera module has same dimensions and would fit to the zenfone 2?
I only want a better image quality...

To my knowledge I don't know the dimension and how cameras are placed within Zf variants. But I personally would strongly suggest to abandon the idea of swapping cam sensor. Risking to lose warranty and damage the phone in the process is not worth the risk.
Just my two cents.
Guys,
can u pls help me to decide what to buy? Camera quality is also important to me (i dont mind that nokia dosent have dual camera)
Thank you
That is really hard to say, it is I think clearly personal opinion, I like Nokia more, the design is great, also it is a newer device with Treble support. In this comparison Nokia has better CPU, a bit. Here is also some comparison for photos.
the big thing for me

Was that the 6.1 is a android one device. And that hit has all the US bands.

Xiaomi A1 is also Android One device
I came from A1. Definitely get the Nokia - more reliable updates, longer battery life, less bugs, that don't get fixed like never, native camera2api enabled, better look and design...
Hey guys, i know it's already available on the one plus 6, but will it be ported on the one plus 5t?

I also have the same question, I wonder maybe if it is hardware restricted. If its just an algorithm then it should theoretically be able to be ported.
I stay
I think it won't, 6 and 6T have OIS while we don't, the phone must be still for a couple of seconds, which is impossible for a non-OIS phone.
Hi Everyone
Considering that the only difference between the devices is the camera, I own a Mi 10t, and the stabilization is very bad. Do you think it is possible to do this hardware upgrade by buying the sensor of the mi10 t pro?

You would be better off selling your 10T and upgrading then.
You would run into a lot of issues because the 108mp sensor firstly won't fit the 10T and then there are multiple issues because of this, also the software,
There is no software for such a hybrid device
I went for the Pro version personally and it's great,no issues.
I've watched and compared some teardowns of Mi10T and Mi10TPro and the camera modules are 100% identical (the 64mp camera has some plastic around it to be the same size as the 108mp sensor). Also, they share the exact same software. A camera swap should be possible. Just replace the whole camera module + the camera lenses.

Hi, if you are still looking to do this, I have tried this with mixed results. The ois works, but the camera is capped at 64 mp. The software only allows you to select 64mp in pro mode. I am wondering if I can get my hands on the 10t pro app or firmware. Will keep you posted.
I saw a pro module for 10$, so no-brainer for me just for the ois. Hopefully someone will find what to change to get all 108mpx, firmware is the same for nonpro+pro, so there is only some switch inside?
I have fw 12.5.12. (global)
I did put pro camera module inside (easy just remove rear cover and few screws).
Photos in 64mpx mode are now 108mpx (picture 3).
When you take a picture you have white bar at the bottom (picture 2), it is only in preview of regular photo mode, video/night/64mpx are ok. Photo is saved fine, no white bar.
You can zoom-in in playback more than with 64mpx, it will tell you it is 108 and show a square of zoom section in bottom right.
On picture 4 is 64mpx at 600% on left, 64mpx at 100% in the middle, and 108mpx at 600% on the right, you can compare details.
OIS is not working in photo nor video, that was why I decided to do an upgrade, I am sad now.
It should work since the rom package is the same.... did you tried to clean flash rom? (were you using global or chine/xiaomi.eu?)
I am using global, now it offered update to 13.0.2.0, but no change, I will try to update to latest MIUI 13 22.4.6
so after clean upgrade to MIUI 13 22.4.13 everything is the same, line in camera app, ois not working

I had the same results, i had posted about it but not in detail. Any luck so far? I think there might be some hardware difference built in that is preventing ois to work, even if the rom is same and everything. but I might be wrong.

Have you tried custom ROM? Also for 10t pro rom?

not a custom rom yet, no. I know little about roms. I could not find any stock rom exclusive to 10t pro either. I can try with a custom rom and update you. Any recommendation for custom rom?
Has anyone else tried? , I have both cameras and I want to install the 108 mp to the motherboard that has the 64 mp
