I'm having strange issue. I'm not able to update games via Google Playstore. Earlier this month I had Subway Surf installed and when I got update of the game on Playstore after downloading everything instead of installing the update the download started all over again. I thought it was some error in my connection so I stopped the process suddenly the mobile soft rebooted. Same thing happened with Clash of Clans. Both the games were on SD card. Even after moving the games to internal memory same issue happening. Even tried changing preferred installation location to internal, then also nothing changed. It only happens with both the games (I haven't installed any other games). I've updated other apps like Facebook etc without any problem.
Was able to update Clash of Clans by sideloading the apk file.

Hi,
Are you on stock or using CM? Also, have you got enough space on SD card /internal memory? I don't play any of the games specified, but I guess they might eat some and need a lot for an update...

I'm on stock ROM. Just rooted nothing changed. I've got more than 7.5GB free on SD & 18GB on internal. Both games should take no note than 250MB including all the cached data.

cache and data
Hi,
Did you try to clean data for play store in application menu ?
Did you try with another game to see if you have got the same problem ?
I cleaned the Playstore data I guess. But will do it again to be sure. I don't have problem with any other app. Its just these 2 games. Both the game updates were more than 50 MB maybe large update file causing problem?

No problem with the size of the update. I think that the problem is in the store. You can try to uninstall the play store update and try again.

The market will download the programs, but the green download bar will be full, but it always hangs.
I have to cancel the download about 8 times, before it will finally install.
Anyone know whats causing this? It happens on all apps.
Does the download just hang or does it give you an error like "installation unsuccessful"?
If it's the latter then try unmounting the SD card and then installing/updating.
Also, you might want to try clearing the market app's cache in the app manager.
Also, sometimes I'll download an app and then go do something else while it downloads (like check gmail) and then when I go back to the market it'll look like it's frozen as a partial download but actually installs anyway.
I have had the same problem, i think its on the market side so u might try being patient and give it a shot later, worked for me

i get a similar problem. market will show me there are updates for my apps, but most of them will end up with "installation unsuccessful"...if i'm correct ALL of those have been moved to the SD card using app2sd...does that have something to do with it?
its getting very frustrating to not be able to update my programs without having to move them from sd to phone, update, then move back to sd...
Google maps gave me problems but it wasnt on sd

What Rom are you guys using?
I'm using Fresh 3.3 and I'm having similar problems.....but sometimes it works fine.
I was using stock at the time, i remember now i cleared market cache and reboot and it hasnt happened since

I wiped dalvik cache and it solved all my market download problems (wiping market cache didn't do anything).

ive been flashing some cm7 nightlies today and finally got on cm7.2. everything is running well, but it just reboots every time apps are loading from sd card.. normally i can use the phone when sd card isnt inserted, i really dont want to wipe it, is there any way to find out what app(it has to be something, because apps stop loading in the menu at some time, and then phone hangs up) is force closing everything?

Hmm... One of the reasons why a custom MTD Partition is needed. Apps on SD won't function like apps on the the internal memory. I have apps on my SD and rarely see FCs. I would advice you check your card if it is error free. Your phone shouldn't hang.
My apps have always worked perfect from SD ext, its probably a corrupt file on your SD card and could be anything not just an app, hook it up to a pc and do a disk check, see if that helps.

i did a backup with TB, wiped data, reflashed cm7. i wanted to check which programs cause everything to FC, so i installed games first - nothing happened. so i installed rest of the apps, i mean those:
flash player
ak notepad
antutu
camera360
real drums
drums hd
convertpad
dolphin browser
elixir
fancy widgets
gg(its a communicator, i dont think so it would cause the problem)
google sky map
last fm
linpack
messenger
setcpu
sketch free
guitar solo
steam
tapatalk
wifikill
wikidroyd
youtube
yxplayer pro
zarchiver
^ what app causes all the problems? maybe you guys know which one is this, i know i can still reinstall them, but im running out of time..
I searched on XDA... and found no concrete answer.
It is safe to clear the data on the MtpApp app on my rooted R800a?, it is using about 25MB of internal memory right now...
And due to the Google Maps (14MB), Google Play (10MB) , YouTube (10 MB), Office suite (10 MB) and Adobe Flash player (8MB) update and the Google services (3MB) "AUTO INSTALL" every day after I remove it ... and the Bruce Lee Game (11 MB) which I can't uninstall (even rooted it tells me something about the APK.) I'm in costant frustration with the LOW SPACE alert sign... (do you know you can't received or send Gmail when you have that FreakinG alert sign?)
I have removed all the bloatware and some games.... but now Im sacrificing beloved my games... because I have no SPACE...
Can anybody give me any hint about this MtpApp... also... any other thing I can do to gain more internal space.
Thanks
Convert all the google apps (except google play) to user apps using titanium backup and then move them to sdcard.
Also do the same with flashplayer, office, pre-installed games ect.
All games can be moved to sdcard with titanium backup
I got a Play off eBay recently and had the same space issue. I installed Link2SD, created a 2gig partition for it and now have plenty of space.

Hi there, I tried yesterday with the Titanium Backup I have installed but it says I need the donate version to convert the google apps to user apps... guess I have to pay for this solution.
Also Im close to switch my SD card... so it will be a better idea to make this after I change it... do you know if it possible to just "COPY" the SD card data from the one I have to the new one I just purchased and not cause any glitch?
Thanks for your comments and suggestions You may have gave my Xperia Play another year of life.. :
Also, clean up and integrate dalvik cache with titanium backup. I've tried this and I get more internal space too. One more, integrate system updates to Rom. This will save a lot of space.

I did that from my original 8gb to a 32gb and everything was fine
I'm having an issue downloading games form the game store it will download install and when I open the game it will say I need to download additional file because the download was corrupted. I've tried over and over to reinstall the game game and redownload everything just to get the same error. Using file explorer the file is there. Idk why it keeps saying corrupted .I'm on 4.4.2 cm nightly 12-20 using the dpk kernel Picts attached of said error after the game offers to download missing files.
Edit: to get some questions answered before they are asked. Tired on several WiFi and mobile connections. Games worked fine on stock and 4.1.2 wicked sensations. Why not update to latest nightly? tried that same result except no games and no video camera. I'm on 12 -20 clean install. Why no backups? I deleted the backups thinking they were corrupted because of this error. If I go into file system all game files are there just seem to be recognized as the game as corrupted. Puzzled

This is driving me crazy. I keep have storage space issue when trying to install certain apps. Currently I am trying to install Mapfactor. I had it installed previously and just removed it. Now it says I do not have enough space to install it. Storage says I have ~650 mb free. Why can I not install a 9mb app? I have cleared my cache and dalvik and still I get insufficient storage space. I've attached a screenshot of my storage settings.

I was just able to install a different app that was 40mb. But, I still can not install the Mapfactor app again. WTF!?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
So I dug deep and found a Mapfactor file still in /data/app-lib/. Once I deleted that file I was able to reinstall the app.

I have been having similar issues trying to install apps . I think my data is corrupted with the EMMC BUG

Since my discovery above, I check the /data/app-lib folder if I have any issues installing apps. I had this happen on a couple other apps and each time they had data in that folder. Once I removed that data, the app installs perfectly.
