Really weird error with T-mobile s6 edge bad firmware? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

So...
I was trying to factory reset my wife's s6 edge but after trying to do it from the menu the phone only turned off and after turning it on again the phone wasn't back to factory settings.
I tried using the key combination before turning it on but the screen flashed and it seemed that the phone stayed off. After several tries I started thinking the phone was actually in recovery mode but the screen wouldn't display it.
I checked a video and pressed the correct keys to factory reset it (four times down, power, seven times down power) the whole time the phone seemed to be off. But after pressing those keys the factory reset was succesful.
Now my wife can use the phone. But recovery mode is still broken and still shows noting on the screen.
Any ideas of what I can do to get it working again? This is the first time I had an s6 on my hands so I'm not sure of how to flash it or anything.
Hope someone can help
Thanks a lot

ATT TILT 2 owned since released stuck in Boot Screen

I have a Stock TILT 2 (TP 2) never flashed running basic programs Mobile Shell never had any issues with it, haven't installed new software in a few weeks , but I soft resetted it this morning and it keeps getting stuck in the boot screen. when first turned on it will run through boot screen then load screen for a millisecond then back to boot screen and never advances again , I've tried battery out sim card out Sd card out everything, even tried hard reset , but wont allow me to hard reset with front buttons and power, is there another way to hard reset , is it possible my phone just bricked for no reason ? thanks for any help ?
have you tried to do a hard reset via the pc? the original rom is on the htc website so you can try useing the exe file there. there is also an updated rom you can try to flash there. hope that helps
You might try sending it to the bootloader screen and reflashing. I don't know if it will work, but I thought it might be worth the effort.
I did notice that HTC removed the original shipped ROM for the Tilt2. I'm sure it is floating around here somewhere. If not, I have it and can send it to you when I get home.
Thanks I have original rom and just released wont work.
dod you see anythign on teh screen? if you do, then hard reset may fix it.
Power off your phone (or take teh battery out). Then press and hold teh call and hang up button while press teh power button. it will enter the hard reset mode. (remember hard reset will erase all the info on the phone and rever tot the stock setting).

wow, thank god i dl'd it when i dl'd the updated rom... and they still have the image of the old rom right beside it... lol
as for op, you can try to enter the bootloader with the following steps
Remove the back cover from the phone.
Hold the Volume Down button.
Use the stylus to press the reset hole.
Or if the device was powered off, press the power button whilst holding down the Volume Down button.
and try to flash from there
hope that helps again

[Q] phone is immobilizied.. HELP!!

Okay, I've been rooted for about a year now and upon trying to update my rom to CM 10 my phone gets stuck on the start screen on power up, every time. here's the kicker, my power button is broken so rebooting into recovery isn't an option. My phone will not turn on so it cannot connect to my computer.. is there a way I can do a hard factory reset or anything that can at least get me back into recovery mode? MY MOM IS GOING TO KILL ME.

If you cannot physically power the device on, then I'd say your SOL. Bring it into Sprint to get that bit repaired. There's no reason for them to even care about what you have on the phone as it's a physical problem.

I figured they'd be hesitant to help me because I'm rooted but I guess its worth a try. thanks.
If it's stuck on the "Samsung" screen, then you're in the same situation as I sometimes am. If this is the case, get into download mode and Odin a fresh stock tar, this will revive your Epic for sure.

Hi apologies for being the bearer of bad news but this problem just cannot be fixed. I've had the same problem for the past 10 days. Constant bootloops follow by an eventual brick. DM verity error. I used Odin to try to reflash the firmware and .managed to get it to the install screen on the phone. The install died at 32%, that failed effortt got it to a state where I was able to try and emergency firmware recovery via smart select and ended up installing to 100? on the pc but on the handset screen got stuck at 32? again. The phone went back into a bootloops and after the second boot the DM verity error was back. Please don't waste any time on this mate it cannot be fixed and you will get zero support from Samsung as they're only interested in sweeping this first batch of handsets under the rug. Hope you get your data back some of it may be backed up to the your Google account with any luck.

Keep it connected to a Fast Charger (Under observation - of course) and let it switch on. At this point I'd say focus on deleting them rather than trying to recover them. When the device gets enough juice for a flash, Use odin and Flash TWRP. Then delete all partitions from TWRP through WIPE option, and then power down the unit and hand it over to Samsung.

Touch screen not responsive after reboot

So my PIxel XL locked up (of course) and I had to soft reset it to come back. This time, however, the touch screen is 100% non responsive. Fingerprint is fine, other buttons are fine, but no touch screen. It happened to be in the middle of Play updates when it locked up - that may be related to the problem.
Anyway, I was going to try and reboot into safe mode, but I cant seem to get it into safe mode without a way to actually turn it off other than another reset, which just boots it again. I got it into recovery mode once but all I could do was reboot.
I;m reasonably savvy with the various tools, but since I can't unlock it I'm not sure where to go next.
And of course I absolutely need a working phone for work (and everything else in the world....) :crying:
Help?

It sounds like his phone won't power off though. How do you get to the bootloader menu when holding down the power button automatically does a soft reboot of the phone? He might need to let the battery drain so the phone actually shuts off before he can get to the bootloader menu to do a factory reset.
Literally ALL android devices can be forced to shutdown or to restart in a similar fashion to pc's. literally just hold the power button.
In the pixels case, holding the power button for 15 consecutive seconds will force the phone to reboot.
press and hold power, start counting to 15, as soon as your about to hit 15 seconds go ahead and mash down the volume down button with it. this should get you into fastboot where you can access recovery or fastboot flash a image.

This causes a full reboot on my current and previous pixel, not a soft reboot, ive used this method to save my arse many times. i hold it down, and it restarts all the way to the unlocked bootloader screen
I had a situation where as soon as the phone booted i would get all sorts of errors that prevented me from using the phone or even accessing the power menu, and this is the savior.
possibly try holding it more than 15 seconds? maybe let it cycle twice before attempting to enter fastbppt

Help flashing my device

Im looking to flash my galaxy s7 active because, for some unkown reason the os is corrupt or has a virus.
I have not downloaded anything, all i did was charge it while i slept, picked it up an hour ago and the voulme keeps going down no matter if i press the key or not, the button isnt damaged the voulme menu never leaves the top of device like some ghost hand is permently holding back on the volume dunno wtf that is. I did a factory reset, that didnt fix the issue. The phone is permmently stuck in safe mode, I have tried to enter recovery mode and it gets stuck in a boot loop or opens the light blue screen with the explaination point, the only options is download custom os or cancel. I would like your help on what software i need to fix my somehow randomly damaged device.

Your phone doesn't have a virus. The fact that you already did a factory reset has already reverted your OS back to retail apps and settings, just like how you first got it.
Given the scenarios you provided, it seems that your volume down-button is indeed "stuck" internally (for some reason). Samsung's universal safe mode trigger is to "press-hold down button while booting"--since your vol-down button is stuck, every time you boot, it will always be in safe mode.
You might want to remove the phone case if you have one installed. Then try to inspect the volume down button a bit closer. If all else fails, get a replacement/warranty or something similar (if still in scope). It could be a hardware defect that just popped up.
Goodluck

It had to have been a virus or corrupt os, I restarted into recovery and flashed it to stock and it works perfectly now with no issues, the button was not stuck internally or externally, as pressing it caused no issues as well as if the device button was stuck it should have navigated the recovery menu if it was stuck. either way after flashing it works perfectly so no it wasnt stuck, and besides i have a galaxy s7 active, trying to disassemble that thing is a nightmare
