What were you running before and what were you trying to restore? IF YOU ARE ON 4.3 Touchwiz or were and updated the bootloader, DO NO FLASH ANYTHING IN ODIN unless it does not contain a BOOTLOADER. If you do so, the only thing to flash would be a previous version and with the new bootloader, you cannot downgrade that part as it would BRICK your phone. Flash the rom from recovery all day long.

[Q] I guess I softbricked my phone?

It keeps loading into fastboot after I tried to flash a "bumped" lollipop zip. I can get into download mode. I barely know these terms and am not savvy with all this flashing business at all. If someone could guide me like a child, I would very much appreciate it.
Okay, so I finally got into my custom recovery. I don't know what to do to fix this though. Do I find another .zip to install?
How did you get into recovery?
Not to be "that guy" but we have several guides how to root and flash before doing it, so you don't ruin your phone.
We need to know what version you were on, and Tue ROM you tried to flash. Its possible you skipped steps and soft bricked
Its going into fastboot mode because the kernel you flashed with that rom is not for our phone. It could be as easy as flashing the d851 boot.img to fix. But since you can get into recovery why not flash a d851 rom and be done with it? You're not using the bump twrp are you? We don't need bump.

[Q]xperia bootloader DEVELOPERS PLEASE HELP ME

Tried to unlock my bootloader with official method and i perform all my steps correctly after that i got stuck in booloop that time i tried to boot in recovery but fail my device dont boot in recovery mod after that i flash stock 4.3 firmware on my xpetria using flashtool n i started my device (everything wiped)
then again i tried to boot in recovery but fail i again tried to unlock it but again stuck in bootloader and again flash stock rom
please help me developers where am i mistaken my device bootloader unlock status is yes
and i have lost my drm key too
Are you trying to access Fastboot mode or the actual recovery? Because the stock ROM doesn't contain accessible recovery, which is why you have to flash a custom recovery separately.

Zenfone Selfie Marshmallow Bootloader Unlock (NEED HELP)

Hello,
I have recently updated my phone to marshmallow complete stock, then I flashed pre rooted marshmallow system.img and boot files through fastboot and twrp.img too, but I cant get into TWRP, even tho If I flash stock recovery, i can go into it. So I flashed stock recovery and running prerooted marshmallow, It seems that I've to unlock the bootloader in able to get into TWRP custom recovery. I want to use a custom rom like XOSP or CM there available. I tried the unlock bootloader app provided by ASUS but that seems to only work for ollipop. Is it really about bootloader should be unlocked in able to get into TWRP? I cant get into TWRP, ASUS logo appears and If I continue pressing power+volume down it will just hold on to that screen and restart.
Please Help!!!
This happens with me too ..
any help ?

For owners of LGD855-V10m-ISR firmware

I know it says LGD855 but this is a LGD850 firmware. The best, clean firmware for KitKat.
And I know that a lot of you with this firmware tried to flash custom recovery TWRP for D855 and got in fastboot mode instead...
If you still have this problem and your phone was on this(LGD855-V10m-ISR) firmware, you should flash a custom recovery for d850 and not d855.
But I want to ask owners of LGD855-V10m-ISR or past owners of this firmware that never replaced their version of LAF partition, that means you never flashed another stock firmware, you could flash custom rom but never a stock rom, becuase custom rom usually dosn't replace LAF partition... so could you please backup your LAF.img partition and share it here?
I still own this firmware, I can access custom Recovery mode but I lost download mode because I accidentally messed up my LAF partition.
The only way to access download mode now is to boot another LAF partition in fastboot mode, because if I flash it i get boot certification verification error...
Thanks.
I know you asked this ages ago, bit...
I have the LGD855-V10m-ISR, with TWRP recovery for the D850. I've done a basic backup, and I'll gladly send you the LAF.img, but I don't know where to find it!
Also, may I ask you, should I flash custom ROMs for the D855 or the D850? I'm afraid I'll brick it!
Thanks,
dapeg
