Im pretty happy with it,
its nice..
i had planned on getting a a500, but after playing at BB, the 10.1 is just too big for my hand and for use while im working (usps mail driver), the 7 inch is perfect.
they had a deal going on where u get 100 dollars off when u sign up for a mobile broadband device, so i did with the att elevate, but i will be taking it back within the 30 day return window, i got the device for 1 dollar on a price match because they did not have the verizon one i wanted and were not getting anymore in, the device was i think 80 dollars originally..
i think i really scored on this device.
i already put the gen1 update on it, and have it fully up to date on 3.2.1 2004.7 file when before with gen 2 it said it was up to date on 3.2
im very pleased.
i was going to root it, but since there arent many roms or other things for it, i dont think i will.
That sir is a steal at that price! The gen1 update seemed to help a lot on mine. Rooting can be beneficial as well. You can remove some of the "bloat" Acer installed from the factory as well as run crossix' custom build.prop. Between those two modifications it has become very smooth and responsive. And the battery life has improved some as well.

You might want to check out Best Buy's return policy on promotions. If the AT&T deal is anything like the HP Touchpad promo from a couple months ago, you will be charged the full amount for the tablet if you return the wireless device. Just a heads up.

Yes, you absolutely will be charged the normal MSRP if you return the "broadband card" as they call it internally.

Exactly! The $100 off was based on the other purchase with its monthly bandwidth. If you return it, it's like canceling your data plan on your phone. You pay the full price.

I got a decent screen after four replacements. I hope you are lucky and only need one
iiSo say we all!! from my SM-P6OO
Tried to return the note today for a replacement. But the carrier (VIVO here in Brazil) from wich i bought the tablet refused to give a replacement, refund neither. Bought exactly 10 days ago.
Here our Law say that the consumer has the right to replace within a 30 days time frame. But every major carrier give a **** about that (actually every retail store does this) and don't play by the rules. Now i must send to Samsung for repair. Yes, repair. I should wait 1 month to receive the same tablet with a new screen.
Now i'm going to sue the company, just to get what i am entitled. Just saying... i think your guys in US or in Europe, don't have to worry about this kind of stuff.

I would've asked to talk to a manager and if they still said no got loud about a device that cost a lot and how they aren't replacing it under warranty. Once the managers get involved and a crowd gathers they just give up and give it over due to the bad publicity they are getting from you...

Did just that. Went to the store, and spoke to the manager. Who still refused to replace the tablet. A crowd was watching and the damage for their image was for sure worse than the "cost" of replacing my gadget. I walked away with the tablet and my lawyer (my wife) sued today the company. We have already an appointment with the judge on 01/30 this month to make a deal. I also did a lot of bad publicity on social networks.
Some people are stupid, they think nobody will sue them. I will continue using my note with the dead pixel until i get a brand new later this month. Maybe i will root the hell out of it just for fun.

Clearly as stated above, I wanted to get a clear indication of whether the entire KNOX stigma was legitimate or not. There are tons of threads on or about Knox, the ability to reset it or not, whether it's software or hardware related and most of all that it will void your entire warranty (entire not just Knox warranty).
I want us to clear out the misinformation and see what real people are experience, ultimately because I am rooted (without tripping Knox) but would like to tinker with custom recoveries as well as ROMS and mods.
Have you been denied a warranty claim or insurance claim because your Knox counter was tripped?
No they not checking
TWEAKED 1.0 NOTE 3
Thats What I'm saying. I have even sent phones with the counter set off and forgot to triangle away reset it. And they never had an issue. I think people are saying it will void your entire warranty but it will only matter to Knox not phone warranty. Think people are being a little dramatic. But figured I'd ask before going all in.

I never had an issue with any of my phones, so sorry for being ignorant, but
1. I know T-mo would do exchange, how about repairs? are those done by Samsung or Tmo?
2. Of course the follow up question is who checks/doesn't check Knox flag. Many people claimed T-mo does not check flags in general, especially during exchange. Is that true for repairs and done by whom?
How is t mobile warranty work handled ? With att you walk into a service center and they exchange it.

im also very curious about this, having been an AT&T customer for 10 years, and utilizing the Service Centers fairly often. Does t-mobile have "service centers"?
No service centers. You call and they mail you one. That's how they do it in ny
TWEAKED 1.0 NOTE 3
I can't speak for Knox in particular, but every phone I've returned to T-Mobile for a warranty swap (5 or 6 of them - I have no clue what my wife and daughter do to their phones...) has been rooted and they've never said a word.
On my Note 3, I tripped Knox in the first few days of owning it while trying to fix the out-of-the-box bootloop issue. I haven't had to warranty the N3, but if I do I don't expect any sort of hassle.

It's like he said. You bring your phone into the T-Mobile store, they'll inspect it, and (assuming you have JUMP) they'll mail you a replacement phone overnight. I have a new Note 3 coming in the mail tomorrow.
According to my receipt, this is the company that handles T-Mobile's insurance claims:
https://www.myphpinfo.com/t-mobile.aspx?lang=en#aths
I've done some digging around and it looks like they abide by T-Mobile's terms and conditions which according to this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49396456&postcount=23
We can root as we please...unless T-Mobile changes their JUMP terms and conditions.
Ok, but how is non jump and original warranty handled? I don't have jump since I don't want another phone except, maybe Note4 a yr from now and that's exactly how long Samsung warranty lasts, would that be handled by Samsung in case of malfunction? And it seems I'm not alone, there was a guy on another forum, asking if he can exchange his current Note3 for brand new Note3 when his jump comes up. LOL.

This is how it works for tmobile in general. I've replaced many many phones with tmobile and they are generally very laid back about it. The warranty will be fine so long as it's a defect (hardware issue, severe uncommon software issue). Jump is insurance so it's my understanding that it covers accidental damage and that includes dropping phone. So Knox should be fine for insurance. But warranty is usually a freebie replacement if there is a defect so I don't know if they would get touchy about knox. I wanna say they wouldn't based on my 7 years experience with Tmobile. Aside from people saying they won't honor, I haven't heard of any real person getting denied.

Warranty is honored by carrier, in this case tmobile and ultimately fulfilled by Samsung on the back end.
Jump is insurance and fulfilled by the insurance company, Assurant.

I'm curious to know...I highly doubt TMO cares. I know they didn't look at anything besides the 3-points when I traded in my S4. I could have left that thing with CM and the wildest theme I could find and it would have passed their inspection.
However with the (nearly confirmed) rumor of the TMO S5 shipping with a locked bootloader I think they are going to try to handle this the old fashioned way. In which case I will be stepping up to nothing but Nexus devices--at least until (God effing forbid) that becomes locked for good. If that happens I'm bailing on Android.
Now while it kinda irritates me that there is looking like a good chance that I won't be able to get the N4 (AOSP only guy...also demand root. It's my goddamned device, not theirs) if all of these rumors are true. However from the looks of trends the screen on the Nexus6 is going to be huge...not Note3 huge, but maybe Note1 huge...ish. That'll have to do...especially if it has a 2k or 4k screen or whatever the next absurd "must have" next gen feature is.
I find them locking bootloaders to be scummy. It might be warranty/warranty fraud related...though I'm pretty sure that the modder community is barely a rounding error to them...even less significant if you only count suspected warranty/warranty fraud abuses from the modder community. so I don't think it's that. It could genuinely be security related, though...I dunno, that seems disingenuous too.
I'm hoping the HTC phones will also be able to maintain their unlock option...as absurd as the concept of trading away your warranty for access to the ability to modify the software on your own computing device which you have paid quite a bit for...cuz I dig Android and don't wanna jump ship.
However, in the end, if we end up locked down and locked out on all service providers and all models of Android...well, that'll make the market for an unlocked, customizable high performance wireless communications pocket computer that much more lucrative for anyone interested in taking our business.
#unloadthebootlockers
Is Tmobile still letting people jump with tripped knox. As I just rooted my device. And I would like to jump to note 4 when it comes out. I know people have said they been denied but that's people that warranties from Samsung not from Tmobile them self.
It really is kind of store dependant. In Mn, I haven't ran into a store that had a knowledgeable enough staff to bother to look. In my opinion its actually in the stores interests to take the trade regardless. I've never had a rep ever check to see if it was tripped. In the past I've actually turned phones in with custom ROMs still installed with no issue. Would I attempt that now, absolutely not. I would Odin back to stock, and walk in their with no problem. They are their to make money, and money almost always comes first. So, I wouldn't worry at all. Like i said though, I do think its a store to store basis, and in your area, you may have some ball busters, i have no clue. But, here, a sale comes first, and its in their interest to make that sale to meet quarterly goals.
How does the Samsung warranty work? I have a rooted Note 3 but I bought it from someone through craigslist. I have this weird issue on the screen where it would randomly tap parts of the screen like a ghost was tapping on it. It's really annoying. Can I take the phone into exchange or does the original owner of the phone need to do this?
Well it has been fun guys, I have definitely loved the experience of having the Note 3, but my 6 months are up and quite frankly, I just don't want it anymore. Just wish Cyanogenmod was kept up to date as fast as the S4 or Nexus 5. Anyway, it has been a great experience, and the community has been awesome for the most part. I just have one question to ask before I go for good...
Which one do I get???
Galaxy S5 or the Nexus 5??? OR maybe something else? Please help me decide XDA! Most of you guys know me as an experienced developer, and I am leaning towards the Nexus 5, but any reason why I should go with something else???
Thank you so much!!
WDM - Korey
I've been thinking about getting the new HTC one (m8). With an SD card slot, I'm thinking about moving back to htc. With Knox and a possibility of a locked bootloader Samsung is not going to be an option for the next phone I get. But if you are more into the pure Android experience and cm the Nexus 5 is a great phone too. Though there is a GPe version of the One which will be ported to the carriers by someone here.

Man, after finally getting my hands on the 3, I just can't imagine why anyone would want to jump ship!
It's an amazing devise and there's so much development for it!
Having said that, the GS5 is gorgeous (of course), but I think if I were in your shoes (and just wanted away from the Note) I'd go with the newest Nexus series that's out.
Talk about your deluge of roms! Not only that, but if all else fails, you've got a rock solid stock Android experience you can always return too. That's highly compelling, to me at least.
Good luck with your decision, but I just know you'll miss having that 3 in your pocket and on your desk.
I'm in the same boat. I've decided on the HTC One m8 since you can have the best of both worlds (Google Play Rom should be available soon) and the hardware is fantastic. I just hope I don't get flak for Knox being tripped and that is the reason for me giving up on Samsung devices since I like to tinker with my devices.
I wouldn't jump to the S 5 since the bootloader is allegedly locked.

Here's a link to T-Mobile's S5 webpage with specs...
http://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phones/samsung-galaxy-s-5.html
I have an honest and legit question for you, actually a question I've been thinking about as well since I am ready to JUMP as of yesterday.
Why go get a S5 that has
a. A smaller screen then the Note3
b. 2gb of ram instead of the Note3's 3gb
c. Doesn't have the S-Pen (debatable depending on your actual use)
d. Both run KitKat stock
I understand the S5 has a 2.5ghz quad core and the Note3 only (lol) has a 2.3ghz quad core but is that .2ghz really nominal? I don't personally think so. Plus you loose 1gb of ram, which to me (running lots of apps) is a big deal.
I honestly have to say after doing some research, until T-Mobile releases a phone substantially better than the Note3 I have no reason to JUMP.
Opinions?

I agree with you on the dev part in a way. Yes, we don't have as much dev support (like the s2, s3, s4) but I think the dev support we do have is very solid. Yeah the jump to KK is buggy but that will go away soon enough. and if .6" less of screen really makes a huge difference of how much space it takes up in your pocket, then maybe you should buy a larger size of pants LOL jk man

What lurks in my gray matter
I have been in this dilemma since leaving verizon 2 weeks ago, best decision ever btw!
Here is why I have decided to get the note 3 , yet again after leaving verizon
1- S5 , from the rumors will have locked bootlaoder, I cant believe T-mobile is following the evil tracks, really upsets me , but I think in the long run, only nexus devices will be allowed to be modded without voiding warranty. S5 will also have knox, so even if we hacked the bootloader, form the look of things it will hinder your Jump program and warranty claims ( something I am pooping my pants over right now, and I am thinking of downgrading my Jump program to basic insurance ) . Aside form that S5 like stated above, has less ram, more pixel density that you will mostly not notice , no stylus, and I kinda dig the faux leather thing with note 3. The only thing I used to think has going for it is the wifi boost technology but I am on 1 gb plan and no way will I use my Lte to supplement my wifi , so its a useless feature. Also my fingers are too big for 5 inch screens, I cant tolerate having to re-write every word 3 times.
2-Nexus devices, I think are now the only developer friendly left devices, with perseverance of warranty, but again I hate 5 inch screens, I hate lack of SD cards , specially that most carriers are Data mining to make money, since all of a sudden they have enough resources for unlimited text and talk , but not data. I am seriously considering nexus if they offer bigger screen and bigger on board memory, 64 gb on board and i might even compromise on the lack of 5.8 inch screens. Also I am not sure about removable battery, but I love to be prepared, and lack of ability to change batteries on the go is a major down side for me.
3-HTC one m8: after i had the rezound i vowed to never go back to HTC, but they have improved dramatically recently. But once again, they are now all s-on , not sure unlocking them using htcdev and the voiding of warranty . but again you lose changing the battery on the fly, the massive 5.8 inch screen, a gig of ram for a unibody that will get covered in a seidio case anyway. Camera is also subpar , but thats very subjective I think.
now I am paying the devil's advocate and tell you why should run and upgrade now :
1- I am assuming your knox is tripped, I feel like over night t-mobile will stop rejecting knox phones, so get your phone turned in before they do that. I still have an entire year before i pay off half my balance, during which I am praying for a knox reset method ( yeah i know its easier to establish a colony on Mars ) or I might have to throw it under my car
2- if you are into modding, and i believe that you are if you are on this forum, bear in mind that we are only satisfied when we mod our devices, we are not apple users. Sadly, i feel like android is taking the turn towards apple's philosophy in closed sourceness ( not a word , i know ) . I even said to my self, i dont need an unlocked bootloader and a root with my verizon note 3, its a beast and it gives me option to disable progs and with 3 gigs of ram it can withstand all the bloatware verizon throws at it. BIG mistake, hence why I am on t-mobile ( among other reasons ). We will never be satisfied with stock. So seriously consider Nexus devices ( since they are Jump eligible and I dont think modding them voids Jump but who knows , )
Right now as I see it, Sony, HTC , Samsung and even LG are all locked up and you are gambling staying stock till you are able to Jump yet again. Look at verizon's and ATT bootloaders , they are still locked, and all of our knoxes are tripped. I absolutely hate saying this but the difference in modding between Apple and Android is going to get very blurred. Can you imagine yourself with an iphone?

Enough to know I have 2.
Besides, cm you can't even make phone calls from. And most of those you listed are cm based. The problem is that cm doesn't have active devs working on fixing the issues. We still don't have NFC, which plagues every ROM that is cm based. When the source isn't being worked on, how can you expect the rest to be any better? Really the best ROM out for the Note 3 is either carbon, if you like it, or stock KitKat. Pretty sad from what I see. Especially since I got this phone mainly for the development support and because it is so bad ass. But what good is that when you can't get consistent performance out of any of the roms, including stock.

I have been in this dilemma since leaving verizon 2 weeks ago, best decision ever btw!
S5 will also have knox, so even if we hacked the bootloader, form the look of things it will hinder your Jump program and warranty claims ( something I am pooping my pants over right now, and I am thinking of downgrading my Jump program to basic insurance )

It won't.
I returned a Knox 0x1 Note 3 to T-Mobile under the basic manufacturer's warranty (I don't pay for insurance because I never, ever destroyed a phone in my life) and got a brand new replacement, no questions asked. Many others have reported success returning/trading in Knox 0x1 devices to T-Mobile as well; do a search.
The only things they care about are no physical damage, untripped liquid intrusion sticker, and that it turns on. T-Mobile's refurbisher resets the Knox flag back to 0x0 when they refurbish the phone anyway. Obviously, flash it back to unrooted stock and do a factory reset before you send it in.
Cost me a total of $20 for the T-Mobile warranty processing fee.
If you send it back straight to Samsung, though, they'll deny warranty service as BER (beyond economical repair). T-Mobile FTW.
This may help in your decision.

I see your point

Right that is the current situation. I am just afraid of the future since I am sure t-mobile will catch on to it with samsung denying claims for knox tripped phones. Hence my statement, go get a knox free phone that you can mod without fear of losing Jump in the future.

I definitely will. No worries about that. I've had a lot of people say get the HTC one since it has Dev edition. Which makes sense because it is basically the more improved nexus.

How do you Jump to a developer edition device ? I thought these are not offered on t-mobile Jump plans
Got the LeEco Pro3 last year, was able to unlock the bootloader and root it and experiment with roms.
I then dropped it and scratched it up and cracked the screen.
Contacted the support over chat and then phone told them exactly what happened, they told me because its customer caused damage I will have to pay for shipping but they WILL cover the repair.
I sent the phone in, 5 days later I get a box with a brand new phone. WOW 10/10 service and support.
Im actually super happy now.

Yea I have the US variant, had to send it to Texas for "repair"
There are many informations on the fantastic warranty of leeco phones in US.
But I'm really curious about the Chinese variant support. Has anybody ever used the Chinese support for x720 variant?
Amazing!
There are a few stories like that here. I wasnt so lucky with the some problem (dropped and cracked screen). They would change the screen but I had to pay shipping AND repair so I bought a replacent lcd (abour 80 dlls) and change it myself. Should have contacted support another day, maybe another leeco support team member should have offered me the same deal you got.

I had the exact same experience.
I had a screen digitizer issue repaired under warranty; Sent it in at the end of May, and received a new phone less than 2 weeks later. I was concerned about the LeEco pull out, but RMA service still seems very good so far.
My new phone still had the original firmware on it. I guess they are still going through the first run stock. I'm really hoping there is another US sequel for this phone. It has the most important specs I've wanted in a phone regardless of price: 4000mah battery, 1080p screen, top of the line soc. Yes, I am a battery/speed lover over any other spec........ well, snapdragon and unlockable bootloader as well, but that's just a given in this forum.

so far not good. sent the phone in, they received it on thursday. they have not shipped it out, no update on status, leeco support does not know what is happening or why it is taking so long and are unable to do anything. it is now wednesday, almost a week since they received it.

FYI, when they received my phone for repair I never got any notification. The only way I knew they had shipped one back was that I have Fedex alert me when a shipment is coming to my address. I would be concerned that they do not know what is happening... If you don't hear anything by Friday I would send a PM to LeEco_Eric over on the LeEco forum (http://forum.le.com/us/index.php?forums/ecophone.60/). He escalated my issue right away last time I had an issue.
WHAT?!.... Is this phone still being supported? The other day I try to look at their site and the site was down, I google it and there was some results saying that Leeco was a scam....apparently not...I'm so buying one of these right now! Love me some Paranoid Android!!
How many months of warranty for leeco cell phone
finally got my phone back yesterday. im glad it all worked out great and the fact they will replace something like that for free is amazing (just pay shipping). however, the fact they cannot even tell you if their repair company even received the phone is pretty sad. took me 3 days for them to find out if it was even received. overall im satisfied, took about 9 days from the time they received it for me to get it back.
Please help: Can you share the contact number or email for the Leeco warranty service
