I have a problem on CM 13 nightly.. When i lose mobile network(no signal from my network provider), I automaticly get "r" sign over my network icon (my roaming is disabled). And i get connected to other network. If i want to change it I have to spam the automatic select network to get back to my mobile network because when I try to manualy pick it I get a message that I cant connect to this network at this moment or any other network.
If anyone found a solution or is this a CM 13 bug?
I have the same problem. I have CM13 on my D851 (T Mobile USA) LG G3. Only instead of getting the "r" sign, I get an "!" next to the signal bar. I can still make calls and send sms, just no data comes thought. My IMEI is fine, I can check it *#06#.
I just installed the latest nightly last night to no avail. The only way to fix this so far is to enter airplane mode then turn it back off again. The signal is then fine.
Aside from this and the video recording the rest of the rom is fine.
Airplane Mode on/off is not giving my baseband number back.

Good afternoon,
I'm using the application 'DNS changer' for change the DNS of the data mobile interface and I use Google and open dns DNS as primary and secondary dns server respectively. It is a workaround for this problem.
After making these changes, data work well and exclamation point disappears.

Hi Guys,
So, I've been using the GNex for about a month. I moved to this phone from a Moto Atrix and here is what I have noticed and have looked around but didn't see any good answers to these questions I am having. Hopefully I get some answers here.
Device info:
GNex GSM version on ATT.
Running JB 4.1.1 Stock with Trinity Kernel (rooted and bootloader unlocked).
Issue #1: I get really bad reception at work. But, when I leave the building, my phone doesn't automaticaly connect back to the network. Sometimes, if I don't check my phone, it's been like that all night long until the next day when I have tried to make a call and it said "No Network Available" and I have to either reboot or toggle airplane mode to get back on the network. Am I missing something? In my past experience with other devices, they try to automatically connect back to the network when they loose connectivity. Also, if I get in an elevator during a call and the call gets dropped due to network unavailability, it doesn't connect back to the network and I have to toggle airplane mode. Has anyone else had this issue?
Issue#2: This is with the stock mail app. Specifically the search in this mail app. No matter what, it always returns zero results. Has anyone had this issue with the Mail App? If I use the Gmail app, it works fine. That's what I am using now, but am curious as to what I may be missing that make it not return any search results in the stock mail app.
Q3: Speed Dial: How do you set speed dial on the dialer? Is it even supported?
thanks in advance,
vG

it could be to do with your radio, what version is it? baseband version in about phone. im no expert but when i flashed a jellybean rom i had to update my radio afterwards cause my signal was dropping alot. i also had the same problem later on but that was down to my network operator. before i realised it was them i googled my problem and a few forums suggested that my sim card was goosed. so maybe check those three possibilities? i cant help with the other two issues unfortunately but good luck sorting it out!

I've got a strange problem that I cannot solve or find anyone else that has had the same problem.
I recently updated to Minco V4 and since my status bar has been showing no signal and mobile standby shows 100% without signal yet I have mobile data. I cannot make any phone calls but can browse the internet. No amount of rebooting, airplane mode on/off will work. I've also gone back to both stock ICS and JB where the problem still exists.
My network is T-Mobile and it won't let me manually connect to it but the phone will occasionally register when I select automatic although it doesn't correct the fault. Anyone have any ideas what has gone wrong with my phone?
UPDATE: It seems I can only get a phone signal when select 2g T-mobile network only or connecting to T-Mobile orange. If I untick 2g networks and it connects to t-mobile 3g I can't receive or make calls.
Does your Radio and baseband match?
I installed the linked radio from the MiNCO thread after flashing the rom and discovering this issue yet it made no difference.
I got a phone signal momentarily about 15 mins ago which allowed me to make a short phone call to test it. I then accepted the JB system update from Google and now have no phone signal, just data.
I have a galaxy nexus
ROM : XenonHD 4.2.2 (tried Stock 4.2.2 for 2 weeks)
Baseband : 19250XXLJ1 (was on earlier ones as well)
Kernel : Stock
Location : Bangalore(India)
Connection : TataDoCoMo
My internet (primarily using 2g, sometimes 3g) and it drops very often.
To enable it, the below steps does NOT word:
1. Toggling flightmode
2. Restart mobile
Only one step works (75% success)
Manually search for network and select network automatically and sometimes to manually select the network.
Please help.
Update: (Strict 2g mode enabled)
I've been sitting in my seat since posting the previous post. Checked my internet and i do not have data connection. Gonna enable it now.
Even manual selection of network dint give me data connection after waiting for 5 mins.
Enabled and disabled flight mode - waited for 5 mins - no go.
Gonna restart and check - last option - no go.
Now i disabled data - strangely, i lost signal for a few second.
Enabled data again - waited for 2 mins - and walah it came.
I dont know on what basis the internet comes and goes like this. It is not humanely possible to do all these steps, just to get the internet enabled. Can anyone help me from this plight.
Can anyone please offer some advice?
You can change rom, and check if it will be fixed.
What kind of network strength do you see in “Status“ page in settings? Post a screenie.
Try a different ROM to be sure it isn‘t a network fault.
Final solution to my data drop issues

I tried a lot of methods and this worked finally. Am on latest radio release I9250XXLJ1. Browse and install it if you are not on it.
Dialed *#*#4636#*#*
selected "Testing"
Selected "Phone Information"
Scrolled down and set the option of "Set preferred network type" as GSM auto (PRL)
Noticed change in GSM Service, GPRS service.
Next time, this dint work tried the below method and finally worked.
At the bottom right corner, the properties option indicated by 3 perpendicular dots took me to change Radio Band.
I tried with the first 5 option with no network coverage and finally AUS Band started giving me uninterrupted data signal.
Success...
Hi everyone. I have a GNex I9250. I was using the first KitKat rom that came out. It was working OK, with the usual graphical glitches. Then I flashed the SlimKat 4.4.2 rom. It was working fine when suddenly the reception stopped working. I was not able to make/receive calls or SMSs. It says "Emergency Calls Only". But the weird thing is that
in the Settings -> About Phone -> Status it shows my
Network name,
Signal Strength is -65dBm 24 asu,
Network Type as EDGE,
Service State is Out of service
Mobile network state is disconnected.
I don't have any Data Package so its the only option to turn off.
I have tried everything. Changed the radios. Changed the Rom. Reverted to the Factory image. Even Changed the Recovery form CWM to TWRP. Been fiddling with my GNex for the last 12 - 16 hours. Still no signals.
Any help would be appreciated.

Same issue for me. I've tried to flash stock, it works again for a few days and bug again.
In order to "solve" the problem I have to put the sim card in an other phone and next replace into the nexus...
Quite annoying
[SOLVED] Installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64023143&postcount=10 and switched back to automatic band select. Flashed back to stock and all is working again! Thanks to bitdomo!
Hi guys, now it's time for me to ask a question. In all my years with android I haven't felt so powerless
I'm experiencing a strange behavior with my N5X: I regularly get an error "cellular network not available" when trying to call someone. During that time I'm not able to make calls, receive calls and receive or send sms messages. The strange thing: LTE, H+, H, E or G connections are working during that time.
A reboot fixes the issue for some time, but after some time (minutes or hours) the issue is back. As I said, my whatsapp service and internet connection is available via LTE or similar (depends on the quality of connection), but all GSM services won't work.
I haven't changed the SIM card.
I flashed several different ROMs an kernels.
Thanks
http://imgur.com/a/K0qX2 - here you can see the issue (working H connection but no service)
Update: I removed the SIM card and cleaned it with alcohol, put it back in again and it's working for now.
I have the same problem since a couple of days. I
Will try your trick and report back if it's working.

The issue is back... During a bluetooth connected call in my car, the connection was lost and couldn't be reconnected. "cellular network not available" was shown every time I tried to make a call after that. Internet connection over LTE was fine at the same time...
That's a strange issue. It seems after signal lost it only reconnects data but not cellular.
@Frozen-GPU are you on the newest July update of android? Maybe it is a issue with the radio.

Yes, very strange... I'm on the latest July update with XtraFactory at the moment. However the issue isn't ROM related I think, because I had it with several ROMs and builds since may, if I remember it correctly.
I found some settings in the test-menu *#*#4636#*#* to change for "GSM only" network-mode for example. Maybe that'll fix it.
I switched from LTE/4G to 3G Network in the cellular settings. And the issue doesn't appear till now.
I really think that something in the July update borged it. Before I never had this problem.

I installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64023143&postcount=10 and switched back to "automatic band select" in *#*#4636#*#* menu. Flashed back to stock and all is working again! Thanks to bitdomo! In the end before I applied the fix, I couldn't get any GSM services anymore. LTE was working. My Nexus 5X was stuck in "USA Band", therefore I wasn't able to fix it without the bitdomo ROM. The bitdomo ROM provides a huge selection of bands, where my stock ROM only showed "USA Band".
I know I'm late to the party, but I was able to fix it by follwing #5 from here: https://www.mytechtipshub.com/mobile-network-not-available-fix-android.html
* Go to the dialer on your phone.
* Dial *#*#4636#*#* from your device.
* A testing menu will appear on the screen.
* In the testing menu, select “Phone Information” from the category.
* You will see an option that says “Run Ping Test.” Select that option on the screen.
* Now scroll down the page where you will find a drop-down menu on the right side.
* Tap it open to see its contents. Click on the option “GSM Auto(PRL).”
* Now further below, you will see an option named “Turn Radio Off.” Select this option.
* Now restart your phone and get rid of the problem for sure.
