Hello, Guys
I have problem with my phone. My provider is T-Mobile and i habe 7,2 mbit/s Mobile Internet speed. But it happens very rare to have this speed cuz i am all the time with "E" Mobile Connection almost never with 3G" or H" .
I made a speedtest with the "E" connection and it was alwful 60 Kbp/s Download and 500ms Ping
Also today i noticed something very odd. When I skyped on my PC i activated my Mobile Internet on my phone and it messed up the Skype connection on the PC, My Partner started to hear some weird noises like static or like the "receiving SMS sound" on the old phones near a PC or Speakers.
Thanks !!

Looks you are out of range of your 3G network, E (Edge) is an enhanced 2G network. Is it in-house or outside? You could got to T-Mobile site, and find the coverage map (Netzabdeckung).
New phones also can interfere with speakers, not only old phones, it's not messing-up the skype connection.
i have the tmobile version of the note 3. and when i make an outbound call while on wifi (wifi calling is off) it defaults to HD VOICE which has no ringing (only on some numbers tho, very strange) and it will have NO RINGING, almost as if its not dialing then someone will answer. Very annoying. So i have come to a conclusion that if i turn Wifi calling off, HD VOICE is gone and it WILL ring with those numbers that wouldn't before. But if i connect to wifi again then i get this issue. Is there a way to disable HD VOICE?
PS, i have SIM UNLOCKED the note 3 and have tested with att sim with same numbers and rings correctly whether or not on wifi, of course doesn't say HD VOICE tho
thanks a again

Anybody know how to fix this. I cant use wi-fi anymore because it turns on hd voice, grays out my network bar signal, and makes calls unintelligible. T-mobile had me disable "answer with voice" and wi-fi. She said this is a problem with wi-fi calling but I dont use that. I only had it set to use wi-fi if I left a good cellular area. That is off now too. Please help me fix this so I can at least use wi-fi again. By the way this happened suddenly on its own 2 days ago.
Did you ever resolve this?
I am having the exact same problem now.
Even though I have wifi calling turned off, if I have the phone connected to wifi it is using wifi for the calls.
Annoying as hell.

Anyone got updates on this? I just started getting bitten by this a couple months ago when I flashed from stock to DarthStalker (JB version not KK).
Any news about this?
HD voice
HD voice is set by the switch from the tower you are connected to, long story short if the backhaul from your tower is microwave and the person you are calling is on a tower that is Ethernet backhaul it won't sound right. Also if your in a Samsung owned market and the other person is in a ALU, pioneer, Ericson etc it won't sound right lastly the Samsung phones have 3 or more microphones on them for background and other noises to be muted so the over correction messes with HD calling and lastly wifi calling is using VoWifi and literally running a VPN from your ISP to T-Mobile so your bypassing the switch and hd voice isn't an option, so when you swap sim cards out the root system(boot straps and firmware for the motherboard is designed for t-mo switch and network and is wrote to look for t-mo) so the unlocked sim is just a software unlock to allow something else to be the read

I worked in the cellular telcom industry for years and HD calling is a nightmare, wifi calling is even worse because of e911 compliance and the fcc. I forgot to mention that if you have a phone case in like a loose fitting silicone sleeve type or the rubber shell on an old otterbox that's loose the vibration from your voice can cause static in the mic from the rubber vibrating by the charge port (old product known issue with noise cancelation on several phones)

I forgot to tell you that normally when you don't have the ringing when your calling out it is a network based issue.
It could be a nesting issue(where your phone is thinking its on a tower in the next town) so with the phone on pull the sim out(if you have to pull the sim power on wait 60 seconds then power off) then turn the phone off and reinstall the sim, an issue for the market your in, the network may think that your still using wifi calling and it never fully turned it off in the network( however by simply turning the switch off it won't disable it you have to update the emergency address and look below that and choose disable( if your software is newer the platform for wifi calling by Samsung is codenamed waterpolo and there is a crap ton if known issues with it) lastly if you phone has native and Samsung wifi calling (found on the GS6/note 5 so if you have it it would be by update only) you would have to totally reset the phone and have to-mo open a network trouble ticket for a tier 3 or higher to call you back and resolve
Just got a note 3 for tmo, currently my device is unrooted and fully stock. I noticed that my wifi being on, it works great but cell signal is near gone...sometimes even wont let a text get sent. as soon as i turn off wifi cell signal is perfect same as on my note 2 or that G2 i got rid of.
i noticed the following....
Wifi signal switching feature on or off, cell signal still is gone.
Wifi on, wifi calling on or off signal still suffers, in fact i even disabled wifi calling from the application manager for now. (never did like wifi calling)
Wifi on, make a phone call signal still stays low.
Wifi off, cell signal strong
Wifi off, make a call all is even better.
So, whats the deal? is there a fix? A search only came up with a thread about turning off the wifi switching thing in advanced features, but like i said it dont matter or work. any other search talks about wifi and it dropping and or about wifi calling dropping calls....
edit, i looked in the system setting, and noticed that the signal in my house right now says -90. turn wifi on, network says unknown from LTE, and sits at -90.
turn wifi off, network says LTE and signal still stayed at -90 (it did change a little but stayed at average of -90)
it seems as if the signal bars just dont show up with wifi on. like it cant walk and chew gum at the same time (cant show wifi bars and cellular signal bars at the same time)
what threw me off was when i couldnt send a text until i turned wifi off.
i also disabled wifi calling from my account level as well. didnt change anything.
do these phones need the sim that came in then box? my sim came from a note 2.
It is odd, but I have the same behavior. When I'm on WiFi, I have no bars for my mobile signal despite there being no change in the signal related parts of About Device->Status
So, no real answer, but you're not the only one seeing this.
Turn on Wi-Fi calling. Make a call to ur vm. End call. Go to setting click Wi-Fi calling and then connection preference. Then click prefer cell network. Wait 5 seconds then shut off Wi-Fi calling. Should be fixed
TWEAKED 2.0 NOTE 3
I have no idea why, but this worked. I already had the 'Prefer mobile network' option set and Wi-Fi calling disabled, but this little dance corrected the problem. Thanks for the tip!

(well in the past it was) thanks! now i can actually use wifi!
I called someone the other day i had wifi on, and the person couldnt hear me half the time. next phone call was wifi off and everything worked perfectly. very odd bug, im shocked that it hasnt been corrected yet.

Only default text app (Hangouts or any from the Play Store can't) can send MMS and SMS through WIFI.
Hey everyone, so looking for a rom that is newer Android 5 or 6 that can still take advantage of Tmobiles Wifi calling.
After the last update my cells been randomly rebooting and incoming callers cant always hear me so im ready for a change.
Tips for those that dont like wifi calling:
Incoming and outgoing calls and texts work flawless on wifi calling.
It does need to connect on the tmobile server (4G) after a reboot or it wont work.
You need to have a better signal connection with your router/modem more than say a faster connection.
It will work the same on Wireless N @72 as AC @433.
Last and my favorite you can put your cell in Airplane mode then turn Wifi on this will save much
battery life as your cell doesnt ping tmobile on the cellular network.
Thanks everyone hope someone knows a newer rom they can point me towards Thanks!
I have terrible cell signal at home, so rely on wifi calling to make my phone function as, well, a phone. However, recently something has changed where WiFi calling no longer appears to work even though I have it enabled. Actually, that's not strictly true, it works, but only randomly and seems to not be available the majority of the time.
Previously, as I could often get 1 bar of signal, what I would do is enable airplane mode, then turn wifi back on to get wifi calling working. However, this no longer works. I have reset network settings, re-enabled and registered Wifi calling, checked with my provider that Wifi calling is available, used the Samsung Band Selection app to set to prefer using Wifi calling over cell data. I'm sure there are other things I have tried, ultimately, nothing seems to work.
Wifi speeds are good, I'm at the end of my rope with it.
It's a Sprint (T-Mobile) phone, still on a Sprint SIM here, spent an hour with support yesterday and they basically had me repeat everything I have already tried before telling me they will have to escalate it.
Anyone else having issues? Any idea what to do?
Thanks.
Not sure if this will help, but you might want to look into what port wifi calling uses and make a port forwarding entry in your modem. I just remember long ago when tmobile had their TM-AC1900 router, something about it having certain ports open to allow for wifi calling. This was before they released their 4g lye personal cellspots.....this was a wifi cellspot

These may help.....
P.s i have Xfinity for home internet and tmobile for a carrier.....my wifi calling has been weird at times out of the home while connected to Xfinity hotspots......and long story short, now that Xfinity has their own cell service they may be crippling ports....just a thought....manually forwarding those wifi calling ports should fix that if that's the case....
