tab 3 10" is it possible that power bank broke my tablet? - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello i was charging my tablet with cheap powerbank from china, (i had charged with that with no problems for few times).
So yesterday i left it to charge with power bank just because i'm testing it.
Now i can't charge p5210 at all and chargers running very hot. When i try to got download mode it says you should have atleast 3volts of battery life.
anyway i should maybe replace the battery, but could it be that the powerbank broke it?

There has to be a short somewhere, it's not the battery, the battery will charge no matter what but the battery life depends on whether or not the battery is damaged. I'm assuming there is a short in the charging port. Try charging the battery with another source? and see if that fixes the issue?

Yep thanks for answer. I was giving it more thoud and i think something is broken in my table, because i think it tried to charge my external battery. Maybe a diode broke or something and two days ago i tried to charge the tablet with wall charger, charger just got really hot.
Well anyway i will be getting new tablet after christmas
Okay weird it's chargin again, I just wiggled the micro usb port a litte bit. But I'm still worried to leave it on wall charger coz of last time i did that it just discharged my battery and wall charger got really hot.

the charger is shorting itself out, try getting a new charger and see if that helps

Alright will do. I've not had any problems with any other devices, but will change just to be safe.

[Q] Charging issues - CM10.1

I currently have the CM10.1-M3 build from 4/17/13 installed.
For a long while, I have been having major issues charging my Captivate Glide.
My original battery died. It was bloated. I called AT+T and they sent me a replacement. I also bought two high capacity batteries.
If I leave the phone charging about half the time little or no progress is made charging. Lat night I charged the phone for over 8 hours and the charge went from 10% to 14%.
Other times I will wake up after charging it all night and it will say fully charged, but then the instant it is unplugged from the charger, it will drop down from 100% to 20% or less.
Then once every 3 or 4 days it will actually fully charge. But even in that case the charging is slow at best.
I did a full wipe and re-flashed last night and nothing changed. I have tried charging in airplane mode, but that seems to make it worse. I have had a little tiny bit of success turning mobile data off, but otherwise I have tried everything I could think of with no luck.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues, or have any suggestions? Is this a case where I might need to replace the phone entirely?

I have tried a few different chargers. I mostly use a 2.1amp wall charger. I also have a 1 amp wall charger, and a 1 amp car charger. I have tried about 3 different car chargers.
I am really suspicious that the micro-usb port on the phone went bad and that I will need to get the phone replaced.
Charging with AC is gonna be alot faster then with DC. But as far as it being the rom I don't see tthat.. sounds like possibly a loose wire or bad connection when u lay ur phone down
Sent from my SGH-I927 using xda app-developers app
phatryan has a point, do a nandroid backup, flash to stock and see if the charging makes a difference..
Charging
Hello,
When I charge my Captivate Glide with phone powered up plugged in to the wall, using the supplied wall charger, I've noticed that the battery seems to drain quicker. This is with the original battery, I will be getting an extended battery for my phone. If I power the phone down then charge it in to the wall it charges quickly and seems to take longer draining. This does not happen when charging with the PC.

Bloated battery could just be bad - but it could also be due to overcharging. That's not going to happen unless there is a serious problem with your phone, or possibly a problem with the contacts leading to an incorrect voltage reading. This also may explain your problems charging and sudden jumps in charge %.
Clean your contacts well on the battery side and phone side with a pencil eraser, rubbing alcohol, etc.
I notice a big difference with whatever kernel is shipping with the current M3 cm10.1 build between a 500ma charger and 2amp charger, so I imagine the kernel is set for a 750ma or 1amp charge.

[Q] Overcharging ?

Hi
can this phone be overcharged ? like when you leave them charging from the night till u wake up in the morning ?
because i just leave this phone charging overnight (9 hours)
I'm not charging from usual charger with adapter (friends says if its 100% it will stop charging)
what terrifies me is that i'm charging from my laptop via usb cable, if it's already 100%, will it also stop charging like on charger with adapter ?
thx

Well then let me be the first to congratulate you @Bry335. Overcharging a device is bad for the battery. In fact research shows that you should stop charging at around 80-90%. The battery will end up swelling which may lead to future problems like the glass on the back cracking ( since the Z1c has a built in Battery ). You may also end up with shorter battery life and higher temperatures
Also If I were you I'd use the charger that came with the phone...unless the charger you use atm is 5V 1500mA which is the ideal charger for the Z1c
Enjoy your Day

help.. xperia m slow charging

Help me please. My xperia m is very slow in charging. Tried different charger still same
Maybe it's because your battery ? got swollen up...
That happens due to charging your device for too long period of time...
Or maybe your device's charging socket is damaged., it happens when you use multiple chargers very offen....

My battery is fine. Not swallon. Today it took 6hrs to get fully charged (during charging i didnt use at all)... How to repair that charging socket and how much it will cost?

tab s 10.5 charging extremely slowly

even after replacing battery and charger. Takes 1 hour to charge 1% . this problem started few days ago:crying:any help?
Have you tried an new cable and charger, and check your charging port is clean.
Have you had any flickering on the screen, if so you might have a bad battery connection.
John.
Had the same problem, replaced the battery without success as well. Had to replace the charging port and it's been working perfectly ever since.

yh i to have replaced the battery still no success. yh most likely a faulty port.
This has just started happening to me. Sometimes it gets so bad that it dies on the charger.
I have had my T800 2 years tomorrow and the battery is fine, I use an magnetic microusb adapter so no port wear.
How long have you guy`s had your S1 before you started having problem with the battery? also do you game or use any apps that eat the battery or get the tablet hot as that is really bad for the battery.

i brought my t805 in july 2015. i hardly use it, as i use my nexus 9 which is way faster and easy to carry. i basically didn't use the tab s for a week or 2 and then when i plugged it on charge, it was taking forever to charge, so... :/
i ordered a flex cable from ebay for just £
5, it includes the usb port as well as the sd slot. Will be replacing that, hopefully it will fix the issue.

I wonder if the battery went flat while you were not using it, was it turned off or just in sleep/standby mode.
John.
haha no its not the battery as i have already replaced it with a new battery and still the same. i think it was turned off.
so how long does it take you guys to fully charge your t800/t805 from 0 to 100% while the device is powered off?
From what i have read around 5 hours for the 10.5" for a full charge when in sleep mode, maybe a 4.5 hours when powered off.
But charging speed depends on an compatible charger and quality usb cable, full charge current is 1.75 amps according to my usb power meter on my T800

hmm, because mine takes 3 hours to charge 18%. eventhough am using a note 5 fast charger and also tried it with official tab s charger too no luck.????
the usb ribon arrived yesterday, so replaced it. still no difference.:crying:
Have you tried more than one usb cable, as it make a BIG difference, like 0.5amp vs 1.7amp you can have the best charger in the world but if your cable is faulty or poor quality.
Your battery could be bad (how long have you had your tablet?), or your battery power connector could be loose/faulty(mostly 8.4" S1), or you microusb port could have become faulty.
Also if you use a third-party charger it has to talk to your tablet in an language it understand or you tablet will charge slowly, there are a number of different charger languages Samsung has a different one to Apple, or HTC that is why an Apple charger might only charge your Samsung tablet slowly.
I recommend everybody gets an "usb power meter/monitor" they only cost around $10 and it allows you to see straight away how much power you tablet is taking from you usb charger and some brands can trick you tablet into charging at full speed on an Apple charger, I bought an Belkin 2.4amp charger and it was only charging my T800 at 900ma, I changed a setting on my usb power meter and now my T800 is charging at 1750ma

Hello
After suffering slow charging, like 700 or little more ma Controlled by 3ctoolbox, Im now using a rampow nilon braided micro USB câble.
Now allways charging first at 1750 ma and fall ingénieur slowly from 80% to 100%, like a charging perfect mode must be.
The câble was baught at Amazon and work fine untill now. Verry small prize and quality.

I use these Tronsmart cables, A 5 pack for £6.99 and they charge my 10.5" at 1750ma according to my usb power monitor.

surprisingly i tried charging it with a cheap 3rd party cable and it has charged 48% in 2 hours whilst it was powered off, so it should take just around 4 hours to charge 100%.
when compared to the other 2 official Samsung chargers which charged more like 10% in 2 hours. quite strange results

Your tab will charge at full speed approx 1.75amp from 0% to 80% and then the charge rate will get lower and lower as it get`s closer to 100%
So the first 80% charges the fastest and then last 20% takes a lot longer.
EDIT: 80% of an 7900mah battery is 6320mah So it should take approx 4hrs to charge from 0% to 80% with an 10% charge efficiency

Spare battery and battery charging kit

I found LG's Battery Charging kit BCK-5200 on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M5C23SV
I haven't bought it but am thinking about buying it along with the phone someday soon. Does anyone have this or something similar? And is it realistic to just have a spare battery, charge that, and then swap batteries whenever appropriate? That way I wouldn't need the charge cord under daily use.
Realistic?
Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
Because I bought the phone specifically because I wanted one with a removable battery, I also purchased the extra battery with charging kit when I purchased the phone. I thought it was always a good idea to have an already charged extra battery just in case the situation arose where I drained my battery and needed an immediate charge and did not have access to a charger and/or did not want to wait for the phone to charge, even with the fast charging.

I bought the cradle and extra battery when I got the phone. I think it's totally worth it and the only way to really use this phone. I hate waiting for my phone to charge so now I just swap batteries on the fly.
For the record, I bought my H918 as a certified refurbished device.
I found that the charger (with a type C outlet to the phone) that came with my phone was delivering a spotty current. The phone also came with one charge cord, with USB C on each end. That was going to be useless to me since all my other power sources were type A.
Since then I bought a set of 3 adapters so I could use all my micro USB cords. As it turns out, none of them are effective and deliver extremely low current and don't allow me to connect to my computer.
No matter, as I'd also ordered a different package of 2 spare batteries and a wall charger for one battery. The guidance said I should let the battery charge a full 12 hours before I swapped it in, so I did that.
Ever since then, my solution has been to just switch out the battery when it's empty, and by then the battery is charged. To clarify, I feel like the battery charges on the wall better than 12 hours empty to full, but even if that was an issue I'd still have another battery, and I'd still have the usual charge cord option.

The phone should fully charge in around 2h if fast charging is operational. Do bear in mind that the screen needs to be off for fast charge to work otherwise charging rate drops to 5W
I have the kit and that charges at around 8.5W which was a surprise to me as a similar kit for the G4 averaged half as much
