I've been trying to figure this out but every method that I have tried doesn't work at all really. Video tutorial or novice friendly guide? Someone help please? Would love to "androidify" this thing.
Hi! I had the same question but found no answer, until I tried by myself
Download kingroot apk from your tablet, install it and you get root.
Next follow the guide posted in this forum.
But here's the trick: you can't go back after you flash the old bootloader,
So reboot to recovery and push the zip to sdcard
And boom new ROM installed.
Don't worry if you reboot to stock, you get black screen but not a brick, get back yo fastboot, reflash and reboot to recovery

I tried to remove it and now my phone will show the first evo screen and then go to a triange/exclamation screen! I have tried to load a new RUU, applying a update.zip, using the pc39img flash. and nothing works. Can someone throw me a bone and help me out. Also I tried to recover from a backup, didnt work. and if recovery is selected it goes to the red triangle screen with a E: cant open/cache/recovery message.

I have been googling and searching.
I want to install revolution rom.
There is shows you need to root is and flash cwm recovery.
I managed to root it but i'm stuck with the recovery.
1. i installed samsung naked drivers
They did the trick when the phone is active, but when i'm in the fastboot it shows drivers are not succesfull
2. i dont know how to perform the flash.
Can someone explain to me in noob language, how do i fix the driver issue in fastboot(if needed)
Tell me how to flash the image.
It would help me out so much, already spend a couple of hours searching.
Thanks.
dont know how but i manage to do it..
But after all the searching i managed to flash the img.
so please delete the thread
Hi! I've searched looking for a recovery that works on v163 of LU6200 but can't find one. I was able to root my phone without downgrading its firmware but the CWM installed through Rom Manager doesn't work at all. I only get "Enter Fast Boot, Long time no see!" message and it's stuck on that page forever. I was looking for a thread where I can ask this but I also can't find one relevant. I apologize if creating this thread is inappropriate. Hoping I can get some help.
edit: For some reason, KDZ flasher doesn't work on my netbook which is my only computer. I'm not able to downgrade the firmware.
I think the appropriate way to root v163 is to downgrade to v135 and root, then flash v163 and root and install cwm recovery. Anyway I replied to you through PM sir.
Tnx kabayan. Will try +1
Welcome kababayan.

Hi.
I have same problem after flash CWM from ROM Manager,is it possible flash only CWM Recovery or flash Stock Recovery?
The LU6200 4.0.4 is rooted,but I can't flash CWM.
Looks like im stuck. I cant even enter downlod mode to flash a rom. Same page i get when reboting into recovery/download mode
Try to turn off your device, remove the battery and reinsert the battery but don't turn it on yet. Plug your device to your laptop/pc, then boot to download mode (VOL UP + POWER BUTTON)
Hi,
I'm not very knowledgeable with this phone.
I updated the phone, but then it went into CWM-based Recovery screen and it won't let me get to the home screen. I have no idea what to do. Please help.

You have soft bricked your phone. The update will only work if NEITHER CWM or TWRP recoveries are installed. You must be on stock recovery for the update to work, otherwise you end up where you are - soft bricked.
Now you will have to help yourself. Either you are going to have to read and learn how to use LG Flash Tool to re-install a stock ROM, or you are going to have to use ADB to try and undo what you've done - see this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49370751&postcount=70
Also, be advised that if you restore your phone and then update while you are unrooted, the new update will prevent you from rooting your phone.
Thanks visionlogic for your replied. I almost updated before re-rooting it. You saved me! THANK!

hello people
So I need to root my Sprint S3 which has 4.3 and I have a mac.
And..... I have no idea what to do.
I tried this one: http://www.androidrootz.com/2013/05/how-to-root-galaxy-s3-on-mac.html and it installed Superuser successfully but it says the Su Binary is not installed. So where do I go from here? Any suggestions?
Followed by that message is "do you want to install it?" or "SuperSU can't install it" ?
If first then just press "normal".

Aite I got it to work!
Just went on my friends old clunky PC running XP and did it.
The easiest root method I've found for jellybean 4.3 is to install philz via Odin and then boot into philz recovery and select the option to root device. Then go to play store and download supersu and do all necessary updating.

sure way to root and keep phn from wiping and reinstalling stock recovery
I just rooted my S3 and it was on stock 4.3 and no matter what recovery or procedure I tried to use as soon as the phn would reboot it would wipe and restore stock recovery, I found that if you unchecked the auto reboot button in Odin flash latest philz touch then when u get pass message, unplug take battery out then boot into recovery manually , it works like a charm, once in philz touch go to philz setting then apply the su and root, u will get a message that says successful, now download su from play store, this meens u are rooted but don't have complete root access until u install su and if u were like me and had Knox, su will ask u if u want to disable check yes, may need to update bianary but once it does congrats u can now install apps that u are now properly rooted, install root checker to make sure, I wrote this because there are a lot of threads out there about rooting s3 and none of them worked for me and I don't remember once reading a thread about unchexking the auto reboot and the booting into recovery manually, if you having problems getting ur recovery stick this may help, there are other process out there like triangle away but to me this is the easiest, litterly took 5 mins, anyways hope this helps
