So I upgraded to marshmallow (using custom roms), and in the 2 I have tested, I get a "Unfortunately, the process com.android.settings has stopped" when I open "Security" on "Settings". I have tried wiping various times (Data, System, Cache, Dalvik Cache) and still get the same problem. Does anybody knows if I need to flash something before the rom?
Which custom ROM? It may be a setting or addition to stock which makes this happen. Did youl
Look in the ROM's thread?
Thank you for the reply. I was able to fix it. Just needed to do the next thing first : http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/stock-h815-20a-stock-images-kdz-t3232282

i just flashed CM Nightlies build 17 and my google is giving me force close. android.process.media unexpectedly stopped responding. it first works when i reflash the ROM, but then stops
google voice works, but no contacts, no email, no market. does anyone have an idea?
There is a Q&A section. Did you flas the correct gapps?
sorry i thought i was in that section. i checked off the gapps i wanted installed.
Did you wipe everything, including dalvik cache first?
i did wipe everything, and i believe i did it 3 times. i didnt do the dalvik though. guess i should go back and try that.
Hi, I've asked in the rom specific sections but nobody's advice has fixed the issue. When I flash a custom rom, google now stops working, when I swipe up from the home button it just goes straight into a search box. It won't give me the option to opt into google now. I've tried wiping the data, cache, dalvik. I've tried uninstalling, rebooting and installing again. I've tried flashing multiple gapps packages, I've tried vanir, slimbean, aokp, but nothing works. I can only get google now on stock 4.3 (which is just too featureless to live with).
Hi Admin,
I am using a Samsung note 2 with android version 4.4.2 (the latest update available). Whenever I go into the setting/storage/cache data to clear the cache memory, I receive a message 'security policy restricts clearing of this app's cache'. Also I am not able to see the the amount of cache memory, it always say 'calculating'.
I've also tried the factory data reset but the problem still persists.
And also the phone restarts at any point of time while I am working on it or I am on a call.
Please help me with a solution to resolve these issues.
Thanks
Devesh
Security policy is simply the problem. It cannot be changed because it is a part of the system and therefore, the only way to fix it it to install a modified version of stock or a custom ROM.
Hi all,
Detailing my issue;
Oneplus 3, running custom Rom Resurrenction Remix, ElementalX kernel, all running well. Had previously installed roms a few times on the device without issues
Phone froze after using an app made by my company for a yearly event - must not have been compatible with my device. Restarting phone, bootloop.
Clearing cache/Dalvik - boot, data lost...
Trying to reinstall my Resurrection Remix rom. Tried all the old files I had from my last install, they all were still in my storage folder (OnePlus 3 firmware, the rom, the Gapps package, Elementalx... which worked on my past install)
Upon first boot (setting up the phone), all the google apps close one after the other constantly.
I re-try a full clean install (Cache, Dalvik, Data, System), latest Resurrenction official (5.8.3), latest firmware (Oneplus3_4.1.1Firmware+Modem), tried the suggested Gapps (BeanGapps Mini 7.1) but tried also nano, stock (always ARM64 for 7.1). Of course a new clean wipe between each test. Don't even bother with ElementalX until issue resolved...
And I am still getting my Google apps crashing upon phone setup, or in case of minimum gapps packs as soon as I finish installing them, incapable of opening...
Spent a few hours yesterday trying to get this right - what am I missing? Anything that is not deleted from my Clean wipe? What changed? For now my phone runs on a backup I still had running OOS nougat... but really want to get back to custom Rom.
Any lead? Many thanks for any help.
in twrp select mount and pick system
go back to the main screen then select advanced then file manager go to root/system/etc/setupmanager/setupmanager.apk
delete the file or rename it then reboot the phone
SOLVED
The solution was to not use "Wipe" but "Format Data" instead.
After that i did a normal flash of the rom & gapps and now it works perfectly!

Hello guys,
Today i got my OnePlus 5T delivered and after trying out the stock firmware for a while, i wanted to switch to a custom OS. I tried to install Resurrection Remix ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/development/op5t-resurrection-remix-t3752158 ) but on every boot I just get a "Trebuchet has stopped"-error and with Gapps installed I get a "google services framework has stopped" -error.
Here's what I've tried after unlocking the bootloader:
I flashed the newest version of the TWRP Recovery. ( https://twrp.me/oneplus/oneplus5t.html ).
Flashing TWRP was successful. I got into the TWRP Recovery.
I made a backup of the whole system and moved the backup to my pc.
I wiped my data/system/cache/dalvik partitions and used sideload to install the newest firmware provided in the thread of the RR-Rom. ( http://luis-builds.de/downloads/lineageos/rr/oneplus5t/Firmware/ ).
Everything went fine, no error messages. After that I've wiped cache & dalvik and used sideload again to install the newest base ROM. (http://luis-builds.de/downloads/lineageos/rr/oneplus5t/). Successful, no error messages.
(so at this point i also tried to install gapps before rebooting but that only led to even more error messages)
I reboot the device, it boots, i get to the lock screen and as soon as I unlock the screen I get the error message "Trebuchet has stopped." and I can't close that message because it will appear again immediately. It's also blocking my notification bar so I can't get into the settings.
Did i do anything wrong or did i miss out something?
I'm very grateful for any help I can get here.
Thank you & have a nice day!
EDIT:
Also tried with this RR-Rom (https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/development/rom-resurrection-remix-os-6-0-0-t3747038) and Codeworx TWRP (https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-0-oreo-8-0-8-1-t3729673). Same result, still experimenting
