I recently flashed the new Cyanogen mod 7 nightly and The new google apps. As I started to experiment with this rom, I noticed that i cannot download any market apps at all. Whenever i press download, the "downloading" notification would pop up for like a second or two and it would then disappear. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Did you try to clear data and cache for the market? That might help. It does not seem like a CM7 issue as it is working perfectly here.
Yeah I have tried that actually. Still the same problem..
Wipe all the data including both caches, flash the build and then flash the apps. Things are working fine with the CM7 builds since I use it. Maybe a radio update if your not up to date ish?
Same Issue
I'm having the same issue on my HD2 Typhoon Cyanogen 7. I was able to download apps from the market for about an hour, right after first launch - now (3 hours later), nothing. I don't have the ability to click 'clear cache' for the Market and I can't seem to download from the online market, either. I don't know whether I should try to clean-install Typhoon or switch to another ROM - or if this problem will just 'go away'. If anyone has further advice, or wants any info from my device, please send me a message.
Update: ROM Manager won't do anything, but I'm not too worried about that. Booting while holding 'Power' gets me to the Bootloader, from there I can get to the Clockwork Recovery. I tried 2 fresh wipes of Typhoon CM7 before throwing in the towel. Another ROM installed and I can download anything I want from the Market.
Ditto here. I installed on a full wipe and market is not working. Are you using wifi or 3g?

I have the same problem, i tried to solve it doing everything (uninstalling and reinstalling market, full wipe, re-flash the rom) but nothing.
I noticed that every time i re-flash the rom market works for a period but than gets stuck !
- download "zipsigner" from market
- select the new market apk (the one that didn't install and fc's)
- select "platform" as key/mode
- sign the file
the resulting apk can be installed as every apk
cc to c3k
wel then you are one of the lucky ones i have tried wipe cache wipe delvick cache reinstall nothing works

I have your same problem on DHD CyanogenMod 7 RC2 (uninstalling and reinstalling market, full wipe, re-flash the rom) but the Market don't work!
I got the same problem and solved it by simply wiping my device (Desire) again without flashing CM7 (RC1) again.

could you be more specific on 'wiping'? how did you do it? having the same problem here.
EDIT: reflashed rom and wiped data and cache. market is now working.
EDIT AGAIN: market only worked to download GAPPS eg gmail, youtube, google maps etc etc. when tried to download other apps, a prompt comes up saying "the process android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly. please try again."
Hi,
Had the same problem, with cyanogen Mod 7.
First with stock (cyanogen) Market, then even after updating with the new market 2.3.4. Always the same, trying to connect and failure when downloading, no FC at all.
I just solved the problem by flashing again the radio 5.14.05.17 ! (I had this one before flashing Cyanogen and all the other communications were ok, except the market downloads so I didn't think it could come from there ...)
Hope it helps you
I simply solved this problem thanks Titanium Backup that takes back the Market (app+data). Obviusly you had had a backup!
EDIT: doesn't work...after reboot market doesn't exist... I've to rebuild it from TB every time.. that sucks
RE-EDIT: finally works!! I installed it from a backup and then I started it after flashing again gapps(if you don't have a backup you can unzip gapps.zip on pc then move the apk vending to the phone: install it with a file explorer) Then I entered my gmail username and psw(<--- important step) and now it works great! I've made also a reboot to test it.
Solved Problem
After flashing gapps, i had the same problem....
Try a restart - It worked for me!
Yeah, I have the same problem with my freshly installed, latest stable CM (7.0.3-desire). Not all downloads are affected, it's about a third to half of them. If I get the apk file in some other way, installing it works fine. It's just the download from the market server that stops after a second or so (or perhaps never even starts properly).
I've tried to clear market cache, tried rebooting, tried versions 2.3.3 and 2.3.6 of Market app, to no avail.
When you guys say "flash this" or "flash that", does that mean "update"?

i've manage to fix it.
first i backed up my SD card, partition it with ROM Manager, downloaded S2E from the market, check Download Cache, reboot. done. anything and everything can be downloaded now.
I managed to fix with re-flashing CM 7.03 and wiping data. For a couple of days it worked properly. Now from time to time it happens again and the only solution is restarting the phone. Probably I found a similar problem when I tried to install Cut the rope apk from my sd card, CM just did a warm boot. After a several try I restarted my phone and installation worked like a charm. Any thoughts?
what do you mean by using the term "flashing" ?
I am a noob and I am having the same problem too.

There is a solution on the Cyanogenmod Forums.
Hi
I just flashed over to RC4, wiped the card and the cache before flashing it. When I start up the Market, it instantly closes. I have flashed other roms in the past and never seen this happen.
Thanks for any help
Next time search..
Go to settings>applications>find market clear cache/data
If that doesn't work, reflash gapps (make sure you get the right ones, the most recent)
So yesterday I've flashed MIUI to my device. Everything works perfect. But as you've probably thought from the name of thread. I can't download anything from market.
It sometimes starts : unsuccesfull download.... downloading... and dissapear at all. Sometimes just downloading and bang!.
I've tried to clear cache , clear data etc..
P.S. It maybe have something todo with "can't load cache" message in custom recovery , but it doesn't appear to affcet work of my phone. Please help.
I was having the same problem for a day or two. I tried all of the solutions that I read online and none of them worked. Finally I re-flashed google apps, cleared the cache, rebooted, logged into google talk, and then the market worked perfectly again. So if you're having trouble, I would start by re-flashing google apps.
How do i exactly reflash google apps on MIUI? Please tell me.
Verison LTE Gnex.
Rooted with CWM installed. I can successfully flash any 4.0.2 or 4.0.3 ROM and everything works fine. Typical wipe dalvik, cache partitions, data, and /system. But after a few minutes, if I touch any of "my apps" in Market I get a force close of Market. I've tried going to settings/apps/all and wiping Market cache and data. Still a no go. Market is FC on 4.0.2 OTA also, now. I tried fixing permissions inside CWM and that did not help.
If I uninstall Market updates in settings/apps/all ("back to factory version"??), then Market will work for a few minutes, then revert to the same behavior.
I am attaching a logcat of the Market force close. If anyone can decipher this and provide some recommendations, I would appreciate it very much.
Edit: FWIW, I first noticed this problem when I was running Google's 2-step verification process. This got to be a PITA each time I flashed a new ROM (there's so much new candy in the store!). So, I turned 2-step off. Didn't seem to make a difference with this problem, though.

Hey everyone. I really am stumped to a solution to this problem. Before posting to this forum, I took the effort to look up answers on Google, and even XDA-devs forums. But it seems nothing worked. This are the things I've done before posting help in the form of a thread.
- I tried the disabling and reenabling the downloads manager. This is the very first troubleshooting I did. Didn't work..
- Tried clearing data and cache of Gapps. I did all of them individually. Nope, didn't budge either.
- One of my friends advise me to wipe dalvik cache and also the cache. Also didn't work. I tried factory reset. Gapps still refused to function normally.
- After factory resetting twice, I reflashed my Cyanogenmod 10.2 and the respective Gapps that worked with it. I still cant' sign in despite creating a new account and trying to sign in using the new Gmail account.
- Finally I downloaded Paranoid Android 3.99 and the respective Gapps that worked with it. Flashed the Paranoid Android 3.99 and the Gapps. Nah, nothing seems to work at all!
The problem is just with Gapps. I can't sign in to apps that needs my Gmail ID to be used. An important app for e.g. Playstore.
I don't mind losing my data, but the inability to access PlayStore and not being able to redownload my apps is highly annoying.
I'm able to access the internet, everything is normal except the Gapps. I really don't know what is wrong..
Please help! I've attached the screenshot that is consistently showing the same error throughout the whole process I was troubleshooting.
Did you try flash Samsung Stock Rom via Odin? Try it and look if it works.
