Hello all G3 professionals. I have multiple questions regarding to the usage of this amazing device. But let me tell you something first. I'm new to XDA community, to LG G3 and to any android devices. I'm an ex-iOS user and a happy android user now. Having done some homeworks, I was able to flash my G3 (F400L it's from Korea) from Kitkat (tons of korean bloatwares, the performance wasn't good) to stock Lollipop 5.0 and rooted. TWRP installed. I remove all the bloatwares via Kingroot. Since updated to Lollipop, performance is increased. But I don't think I'm satified with it yet. Sorry for a huge wall of texts so here are the questions:
1 - Any recommendations about how to increase the performance?
2 - As mentioned above the phone originated from Korea. There is alot of "korean" in the rom. The dailpad annoys me the most. How to completely remove all of the "korean" from the rom without losing any features? Or do I have to flash another rom?
3 - I'm interested in CloudyG3 and Cyanogenmod rom. Is my phone current software status compatible for it? And how to flash them without losing anything?
4 - This one maybe quite off-topic sorry but do you know how to directly download videos directly from Facebook app? There are alot of interesting videos I want to watch while offline. It's like chopping my flesh off seeing them flying to heaven while I'm scrolling through newfeed.
Again, I seek your forgiveness for the long post and the rules I might be violating. Some of you might wondering why I don't use the search engine. Because it's easier and less time consuming keeping things I want to know all right here in one place. And please, don't reply using shortcut. Cuz you know... I'm a newb.

Hi Knowspain,
i would recommend CM13, i am using it with G3 d855 without any troubles.
It seems to work on the Korean Devices too, look here: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=f400&type=nightly
This is for F400, i don´t know if there is a difference to F400L?
Backup your data incl. efs if you don´t done yet!
Make through TWRP a clean wipe, first flash your CM13 - then select a gapps package from here http://opengapps.org/ (select ARM, 6.0, and your choice of variant and be sure flashing gapps unmediately after CM13, without reboot between it)
Reboot and have fun with your ultrafast G3

hiya Eden
Is there any reason why? is there a major difference with the Roms? as i said i want as close to 4.4.2 Stock as possible
There's no big difference, it's a matter of personal taste.
Cyanogenmod is the most popular rom available, its a company now, if youd like to know

Recommendation, before you go flashing a custom ROM, make sure you FIRST make a Nandroid backup. You can do this after you install TWRP or Clockworkmod. The Nandroid backup will allow you to easily restore to stock in the event you run into issues or don't like the ROM you flashed. Another recommendation, take 2 backups. I am just overly cautious with this stuff and like to ensure I have a means to back out. There is a documented recovery step using the LG tool but the backup would be easier.
The Lonely Rom
Stock Root with Busybox
The goal of this rom is to stay as close to stock as possible (if you want art that is a great thing) with the exception of bloat (soon) and eventually as stable (or better) as stock (already getting close)
How dose this differ from stock?
SD write permissions for every app
3G support
IPV4 support
Proper icons (E, 3G, H, and 4G)
Editable default APN (includes tether apn)
Lots of apns for tons of carriers
More stock friendly improvements in the pipeline coming soon
Feel free to use this for your own projects all I ask is you give me a shout in your OP
Must be rooted with twrp installed :silly:

I really would like to put one rom on, and not touch for the next long while if possible.

It's not any more complicated. Don't worry about odex and stuff. Just stay in the development threads here and flash what you like. Not trying to be mean here but these types of threads are not necessary. Just make a nandroid and flash away and see what best fits your needs. Each rom is subject to opinion. I use slimfast and have had no issues with it.

I keep asking questions, and you give me other replies rather than answers... If might be straightforward and easy for you. and maybe screwing around with a $350 phone is no issue for you.. but me.. not so much.
"In theory you should be fine if you do dirty flash from another 4.3 rom such as DN3 v1.0 or SN10
We recommend TWRP 2.6.3.1 to flash this rom.
You need 4.3 boot loader.
Have both TWRP and latest CWM on your external SD Card along with Ditto Note 3.1.1
Flash TWRP 2.6.3.1, go into Wipe and slide to do the Factory Reset."
This is not straight forward to me.. since I have no idea if I have a 4.3 bootloader - says I HAVE TO HAVE ONE.
TWRP is at 2.7 now .. is there a reason he says to use 2.6.3.1??? on a rom that was updated 3 days ago??
These are the things that bother me.. I am not interested in bricking my phone.
If you dont want to help.. fine, But explanations for the terms used above are not coming up in searches, unless I want to read a ton of threads.. so I thought someone might answer for me.

If that's what the developer says to use then use it. I would say he knows why to use 2.6.3.1 but that's not really important. Samsung phones are very hard to brick if you follow the directions. I'm no expert dude, all I do is follow the directions in the OP. If you do that you will be fine. What were you running prior to slim fast? If you're not sure you have the bootloader you can just flash it again.

Validus for G3 D852

It's not showing up as a drive and therefore cannot transfer anything. I've reflashed it and the GAPPS zip but no change. Anyone have a solution?

Do you have usb debugging checked in developer settings??
just so you know as well, apps like box or drop box are the new way of doing what you're trying to do..... install box on your computer....install the app on your phone.(you get 50gb free)...add your files you want to transfer to the box sync folder on your computer.,...open the app on your phone and the files are there....lol....download them to your device....I haven't plugged my phone into my laptop for like 2 years..... way better and easier than a cable.....and then you also have access to those same files on any device you own....or other computers (by logging into your box account)
try it out....thank me when you realize how awesome it is...

You need to root... https://www.dropbox.com/s/7w48wjtf7yqybg3/Stump-v1.2.0.apk?dl=0
then flash the twrp 2.8.0.0 image of twrp with flashify app from your stock ROM ...(its already bumped)..It will bump your device.
here's 2.8.0.0 image: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yo3yqopl7ifj8ab/twrp-2.8.0.0_d852-signed.img?dl=0
Then flash the updated twrp 2.8.3.0 for d852 in recovery...

then 'reboot recovery".don't reboot phone!...reboot recovery from twrp advanced reboot menu...then you're ready to flash lollipop roms..
Make a backup with the newly installed twrp 2.8.3.0 and then do a full wipe ...(everything except internal storage and ext sdcard)
then flash rom
flash gapps
reboot and enjoy...

Hi I'm currently running the latest test build on my rogers D852 and I've noticed that in the threads the IR blaster is working. I've installed a few IR Blaster apps and none of them seem to work so are there any recommendations on working apps? Aside from that, thank you so much for all the hard work, I've been following Validus since the early test builds towards the end of December 2014 and its great to see this device getting support for custom roms etc..

Reboot? I have no idea? I haven't had that issue here at all....nor has anyone else. Try a full wipe and clean flash if all else fails.
Xposed Framework
Was anybody able to get Xposed to work successfully on this ROM with the D852? Clean install
Could someone please clearly explain how to install LG Quick Remote or any other stock app for that matter on a custom ROM running Lollipop.
I've browsed so many forums and people say different things and there's no coherency.
Please let us know how you did it, only if you have actually done it. Most LGQRemote.zip files don't work when flashed from recovery.
Regards

Tried this many times my friend. Unless we get help from a more experienced developer it is not going to happen. Earlier this year I went nuts trying to figure this out. Never did manage to get it done unfortunately.

Every QRemote zip outthere for this phone is for Kitkat or Jellybean, and that's the main reason why it's not working on Lollipop. I don't know if someone got those from other QRemote supported devices which got LP update and tried, but last one I saw working properly was madmack's zip.
I could try to make a flashable LP zip as soon as my exams finish (in a 3-4 weeks) and I find fully working ROM for LP (in progress, my ISP is going nuts) I could build and maybe support, because right now, my E988 is on Kitkat since CM doesn't want to accept existing patch for modem, and available versions are too old and buggy.
Does it mean that the remote app on the F240 running stock lollipop does not work on custom lollipop ROMs?
I don't know before I try, I'll have to download a F240 LP KDZ and extract it...

Not much, managed to get app started somehow but it won't work, crashes no matter which option I select. I'll see what I can do, so far I've managed to find needed framework files... now to find the rest. First time porting from stock so may take some time...
